  1. Always on your mind. Some United mention will always slip out of you.
  2. Robbie Mustoe is a giant tool. Mourinhio, or any other manager for that matter, isn't in the business to make friends and last I checked this isn't figure skating and style points don't matter. If he had to park 4 busses, a minivan and a couple of donkeys carrying carriages and it got him the win, he's done his job and that's all that matters.
  3. If only there were transfers in the NFL we'd all be much happier.
  4. I think Liverpool would be the equivalent of Berkeley to Jackson in this situation since he came through the youth ranks at Liverpool.
  5. So Everton are not the second coming of AC Milan of the late 80's? You could have fooled Moyes.
  6. Perhaps you're right instead of taking offense I should be flattered for the hard on you have for my club that won't seem to go away even when your club is on the verge of its first title since the cold war. Oh and just in case there's a misunderstanding that wasn't a hidden dig at anything that has to do with Hillsborough.
  7. It's easy to lose sight of the fact that at the time, players like Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister and Roy Keane were considered big money purchases because today you just don't think of them in that context, especially for younger fans.
  8. Banter was the back and forth over trophies, trebles, titles, etc...Accusing me of baseless nonsense and telling me you know my type when you know nothing about me other than the club I support is not banter and if that's as deep as your thought goes that's on you but why would I bother trying to have any kind of conversation with someone that knows "my type". I love English football more than life itself. I regret that I was too young to have witnessed the First Division dominate European football on the blood sweat and tears of British born players, so I'm by the event that unjustly put an end to all of that. I don't have to tell you any of that though since you not only know my type but have the uncanny ability to unlock hidden messages behind what I post. I do apologize if it seemed poorly timed but that wasn't my intention.
  9. Still looking for the Justice for the 39 reference in my original post (Hint: there was nothing of the sort. You made it up) and yes, accuse me of something like that and I'll get a little sensitive.
  10. Of course it'll be hard it's the toughest league in the world. I just don't think there is only one manager in the world that can succeed at a club like Manchester United.
  11. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly it is I said about Heysel that was so offensive. Any Liverpool vs United banter is something I find enjoyable, but when you baselessly accuse someone of being disingenuous when you don't know a thing about that person other than he supports a club you hate, excuse that person for being a little defensive. The racism thing was to point out that every club has its share of bad apples, but when it comes to United apparently they're all bad apples.
  12. Arsenal have no business being where they are if not for mostly self inflicted wounds. The thing is that there is a heck of a middle ground between what Fergie did and simply fading into mediocrity. I think enough has been established during Fergie's time to allow United to come out of the inevitable transitional period and once again be among the title competitors in less time than a quarter of a century if things are done the right way. Very little romance is left in football now a day and money, reputation and a global fan base go a very long way. You have to acknowledge that there are on the other side of the spectrum plenty of factors that could contribute to United maintaining their place as one of the top teams in the land and that is a mere statement of fact, not arrogance. I would have disappointed if you didn't take "pot shots". Someone will of course respond however.
  13. Good thing John Barnes didn't lump all Liverpool fans in with the ones that racially abused him or he would have been outta there in a heartbeat.
  14. Thank you I appreciate your concern but I'll be ok. I didn't see anyone questioning if you had anything better to do when you were posting every time United conceded a throw in.
  15. The only thing I said to wind anyone up was can you blame us for being arrogant. Other than that please point the rest out to me. As I have pointed out by quoting my own posts, I have also shown objectivity. I still don't understand what exactly it is you want to say? Am I supposed to just resign myself to the demise of my club even though there are plenty of arguments as to why that won't happen? Why can't you be objective and acknowledge that? Why is pointing out facts in the face of my club being slagged off arrogance? You were the only one that used the words divine right. Why is it abnormal for fans of a successful team to expect success? Why do you repeatedly ignore the posts in which I said it will take more time before United compete with City, Liverpool and Chelsea for a title? Why do you ignore the fact that I acknowledged that that anything can happen?
  16. What I meant was hooliganism was a wide spread problem in England and that the problem wasn't something exclusive to Liverpool. Put any club there and the same thing could have happened. Jesus H Christ man did you take for a run. I agree, and I hope I responded to you in the same manner (some of my posts I quoted earlier were responses to yours)
  17. This is how a message board usually works. You post something, if someone disagrees they reply. You reply back. etc...Your idea of a message board is you post something and talk down to whoever disagrees. Still looking for something that constitutes you being able to talk down to me and I have a feeling I'll be looking for a while. I have no problem with partaking in banter between fans of rival club but that's not what you want. You want to be able to say whatever you want and everyone else shut the heck up unless they see things the same as you.
  18. Where in the bloody did you find any reference of mine to the Justice for the 39 banner? That pretty much sums it up right there. It's not in the slightest bit my problem that you have assumed I posted about Heysel with some devious intention in mind even though I explained myself. I have every right to show pride in the club I support and defend it, just like you and GHH would do. This isn't a Liverpool message board last time I checked and if you can't handle some banter go post on a Liverpool board.
  19. I said getting into the top 4 is easier with a stronger squad (spending money) and no Moyes. Why is it arrogance for a fan of Manchester United to resist the expectation of a club of this stature simply going belly up in a matter of a couple seasons? I'm a lifelong, passionate fan just like you but you seem to judge me by a different set of standards. Had been in this thread posting about your club like you were posting about mine your reaction would have been exactly the same.
  20. So what you're trying to say is everyone has to spend to be successful?! Insanity I say! BTW if you're referring to me I stopped going to matches because if I attempted to live on my own in England at the age of 9 there's a good chance I would have ended up homeless so unfortunately I had to relocate with my family.
  21. Some of my posts that you are referring to. Please tell me the hidden meaning here and tell everyone how I'm arrogant simply because I defended my club and dared disagree with the lord of this thread.
  22. It's not my fault you chose to ignore my posts that do show objectivity or not even ignore them but give them some hidden meaning you have decided to make up in your head. The reality is you're too bitter to be able to accept that United fans have a right to show pride in their team and have a lot to be proud of. You want to be able to spew all the derogatory nonsense you like about United in this thread and act like a victim when someone dares say something back. Why are your posts declaring my club is doomed not seen as arrogance? Anfield is the most famous stadium in the world? Many would dispute that and call that arrogance. Could it be that you are proud of the club you support? Apparently you're the only one permitted to do so. This is nothing against you though, the ability to be able to dish it out AND take it isn't something everyone has.
  23. @RichmondRedskin United benefited from UEFA's criminal sanctions in the late 80's/early 90's because while some of the First Division's best players got the heck out while the getting was good in order to have the opportunity to compete in European tournaments, United received a financial backing and were able to buy quality players when almost everyone else was losing them. That being said, the sustained success throughout the 90's and early 2000s had as much to do with three kids by the name of Scholes, Giggs and Beckham as it did with our financial muscle that netted us players like Roy Keane and Andy Cole. Also Leeds were nice enough to eagerly sell their best player rather than telling Lee Chapman to grow a set or take a hike. (Cantona shtooped Lee Chapman's wife) During Fergie's reign the Premier League evolved into Europe's best once again and other team's rose to prominence but every time we got punched in the mouth we got back up and reclaimed the league time after time despite the financial tables being turned on us. The fans that this drew aren't members of the family I'm proud of but even Fredo had his role to play in the family and in their case they are here to annoy the socks off supporters of other teams who hate United because of our status as the dominant force in English football. Wenger was supposed to put an end to our reign and he was overcome to the tune of the most famous treble in the history of English football, Mourinho and Abramovich were supposed to put an end to our reign and they were overcome to the tune of three straight titles and another Champions League trophy. City's oil money was supposed to bring us down but the following season we won the league running away. So now we can forgive our fellow football fans for their foaming at the mouth fantasies of yet another United demise but only time will tell if what Sir Alex built is still sustainable. 13 titles in such a short span is a feat that will never be repeated, especially in a league with such depth of title contenders, but the arrogance of presuming United will just go away is just as asinine as presuming we have a divine right for success. The fact is what Fergie left behind is one of the three biggest clubs in the world and it would have taken a level of incompetence that rivals Fergie's brilliance to make us go away to the extent that has everyone wetting their trousers. Are we going to win the title next or year or the year after? That would be incredibly difficult, but it isn't arrogance to expect United to return to their status as annual title challengers before two and a half decades pass because we have the reputation, the money and the history to withstand the adversity.
