  1. I never said it was 'just' about taxes. If you notice, I was responding to someone that said players go places mainly for the front office situation.

It's a combination of factors. And anyone that doesn't think the no tax thing is part of it, is just being naive.

  2. The only way KD comes to DC hinges on whether or not Westbrook is still with that team.

OKC should make Jackson the PG and try and lure one of the top free agents there. That would be the route I take.

Westbrook and Love could go home and join forces with the Lakers. Have no idea if that is feasible or not though.

  3. Shaq, Lebron, and Bosh went to Miami because of Pat Riley and Wade. Not weather, not taxes, or any of that other bull****. The only star I can think of that went to a city because of the city itself, in recent memory, is Melo and I suspect his wife played a major role in that. The results were exactly what you'd expect when picking a team because of where it is rather than who is running it. Bad. The media market stuff is overblown by the media, the same media that has is still talking about the Knivks during the playoffs that the Knicks failed to make.

If the market mattered Chicago wouldn't have been struggling with draft picks since Jordan left. The Clippers wouldn't have needed to luck into Griffin and then again into Paul in order to stop being horrible. The Knicks wouldn't be the Knicks. Brooklyn wouldn't have had to overpay just to be relevant. The Lakers wouldn't have seen Howard run screaming from town. The nba is all about the front office and in cases like Pop and Jackson, the coach. When players respect that they want to play there. When they don't, they don't, even if you've got wonderful weather and large markets.

That's a great point about front offices, but I think more factors than that are considered. Look at Howard. Do you think he went to Houston because of Harden, alone? No. Coaching? No. Front office? No. Weather? No. No taxes? Bingo.
  4. ML, give up the dream, man. Durant isn't going to DC. As I keep saying, the hometown thing is way overblown.

And you asked what Miami had that DC doesn't? Other than weather, the other obvious thing is no taxes. With that said, I don't think he goes anywhere. But if he did, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be DC. Hell, not to sound like Smitty, but even Charlotte makes more sense. And much nicer place to live.

  5. 27-23 Charlotte after 1st...

Big Al- 15 pts (7-9 fg) 4 reb....

With a completely torn plantar fascia muscle in his foot... Best center in the league

You are making us Bobcat fans look bad, bro.

I love Jefferson, but he's not the best center. You can make a case that he's third best though.

  6. The NBA has always had lots of great PFs. Deepest position historically. This era is really keeping up the tradition.

I think Griffin became the best PF in the league this year. Clippers have the best PG and PF. Rockets have the best SG and C--by default. There are actually other elite PGs and PFs in the league today.

I think it's going to be a back and forth rivalry for best PF between Griffin and Davis and Love and Aldridge for best PF status similar to the way it was with Dirk, Duncan, Amar'e and KG.

I would take Cousins over Howard myself. But you can't go wrong with either.
  7. Lemme just put this out there...

Jeff teague is a top 3 PG right now. And,

This years playoffs are wide open. The title is up for grabs. Why not, Wiz?

Come on, man. Not even close. George Hill would make YOU look good out there.

Aldridge has been hitting shots that have no business even being attempted in today's nba game. No coach is going to send a double team to prevent a turn around 18 foot contested jumpshot attempt. You WANT guys taking those shots.

I was mainly referring to Game 1, when he had a 6'8" guy guarding him. And often no double even came. That's not good coaching. Even LA commented after the game that he was surprised they didn't double him more.
  8. Howard will get as much blame as Harden if they get bounced. Fair or not, it goes with the territory of being arguably the best at his position.

How do you figure? Howard has been outstanding. He deserves no blame. And he didn't deserve any last year either. He had no one around him.

If Houston loses this series, it's on Harden. He's been AWFUL. And blame McHale as well, for not coming up with any semblance of defense on Aldridge.
