  1. There is no question John Wall is better because he actually plays both ends of the floor. I get that ESPN told you Kyrie was the scond coming of Pete Maravich but as of this point right now, no sane GM takes him over Wall #1.

Wall can be a defensive game changer. Kyrie is not. Offensively they are about the same but Wall is a better passer .

ESPN told me nothing. I have two eyes.

And lol@ "they are about the same offensively". One of them can actually shoot!

Did you see my post about the way we started last year? We started off 5-9, and honestly, it kind of got a little worst after that. But I think around mid-January, things started to click. The team, coach included, started to believe that they were a good team.

And it's not that we beat Chicago in the playoffs, we beat them pretty handily (Sorry, Brave, no harm intended). And like I said, we could have beaten the Pacers if we played better at the end of games, and mister "do everything" Trevor Ariza didn't go ice cold in some of those Pacers game.

It;s not that anybody's throwing shade on the Bobcats, but they kind of got their tails beat in the first round. Getting Stephenson is a good upgrade, and I can see y'all getting a 5 or six seed. But quite frankly, they're just not as talented as the top teams in the East, and they don't have a deep bench to balance that talent out.

. ML do you realize how close the Wiz came to playing the Heat? And let me guess, you guys would have taken them, too, right.

C'mon. You guys would have been lucky to win a game vs the Heat. We played them competitively with an injured Jefferson, who didn't even play one game.

  2. ML, the reason I'm laughing is because the Wiz finished ONE game better than the Hornets, yet most Wiz fans are projecting them to be the best team in the East, while having the Hornets no higher than a 6 seed. Most have them as a 7 or 8 seed, and some don't even have us making the playoffs! That's the definition of "delusional"!

You guys are making WAY too much of beating the Bulls last year!

    I didn't say that.

But as far as playing the PG role, I'll take Wall over Irving.

Now if we're talking who is the better basketball player, I think Kyrie is better because he's the better shooter. But if I needed a floor general, I'm taking Wall.

I'm taking Steph over both though.

Ok, I can buy all that.
  3. Funny thing is that the Wizards did start off 5-9 last year and still made it to the second round of the playoffs. :D

    You're kidding me right?

You talk about us setting ourselves up for failure, and then brag about the Hornets almost winning the SL? I'm guessing that was sarcasm. It has to be...

Not kidding at all. Their roster has a ton of depth. And their two first round draft picks nearly led them to the SL title...as the 23 seed.

Besides, I'm not delusional, as most Wiz fans are, thinking they are the best team in the East (what a joke). Hornets are definitely going to be higher than a 7 seed. Probably in the 4-5 range. Book it

  4. I think you guys are drinking the koolaid a bit on the Wiz. I think they're a top 4 team, but I don't think they have a better team than Chicago, maybe Indiana, maybe Cleveland. But hey, they do have a very good team so who knows.

A little? They are setting themselves up for failure is what they're doing.

Side note: the Hornets nearly won the SL. That team has crazy depth. Don't sleep on 'em.

  5. Hey? What do you know? Bubble Screen doesn't know about **** except the big news items.

Now Google the rest and pretend like they weren't important enough to talk about.

Dejuan Blair? How could I have forgotten THAT addition! Lol

Seriously, help me see how your team was improved this offseason. I'm truly curious.

  6. It's no coincidence that the year where Ernie is thought to have a great offseason, is one in which the team selected no players in the nba draft.

So you guys are saying it was a great offseason because he re-signed Gortat? That seemed like a no brainer to me. Picking up Pierce was nothing special, when you consider he's 38 and coming off a season where he posted career-low numbers across the board.

Honestly, I think I would have rather kept Ariza (if the numbers worked) over the Truth.

  7. Leader in terms of what??

The on court leaders are Noah and Gibson.

If you're trying to ask who's the guy that takes the last shot, it's Rose. However that's not a leader in my book.

It's still a defense first team. That's fine. Offense is better than it was last season and that's all I could realistically ask for. They just added Aaron Brooks in the DJ Augustin restoration PG role as well

I've said in this very thread that I don't agree with a lot of the early love the team is getting in media but I'm 100% sure they'll finish in the top 4.

I'll take that roster over anyone's but WSH and CLE (only cuz of the android)

Your roster is every bit as good as those teams.

If not for the King, you'd be the clear-cut favorite in the East.

  8. Sort of but to be fair, Kemba has alot of pressure on him.

Not many scoring options on that team.

    This.

He often ends up having to chuck up bad shots at the end of the shot clock, because of the lack of other scoring options. Dell Curry, one of their announcers, talks about this all the time. Says it's why his shooting % is so low.

Things 'should' be a little better in that area now, but we'll see.

He's a good young player but I don't think his ceiling is very high.

Honestly, I think his lack of size hurts him more than anything.

    Please....

That was sarcasm, given how many Wiz fans have a penchant for overrating their players.

  9. Stevenson isn't Charlotte's best player. Al Jefferson is.

I can see the Hornets as high as 3-4 in the east.

Thank you. Was just about to post this.

Not surprised WH posted that though. That's the same guy that said there weren't 5 players he'd trade BEAL for lol smh

Btw, Warhead, we weren't the 8 seed. It's ok, man. You tried.

  10. You make a negative post every single time Wall's name comes up. For awhile now.

    But whatever. Enjoy second place.

Exaggerate, much? I like Wall as a player. I really do. Beal, too. But neither are superstars. That's not negative. That's just being objective.

2nd place? Why are you bringing up the Nats in this thread?

  11. Wall is a game changer. Plain and simple. That's a true superstar. When he's in, the pace changes completely

Wall is not a superstar. C'mon.

Paul. Yes. Curry. Sure. Westbrook. You betcha.

Edit: the Cavs would be fools to not trade Wiggins to get Love. Absolute fools.

  12. Al Jefferson has played 8 seasons averaging over 32 MPG. He now has plantar fascitis. Good luck with a big man who has logged heavy minutes and has foot problems. The Bobcats were blown out by double digits in three of the four games. It was honestly one of the most boring playoff series I have ever seen. But yeah sure they were "competitive". I'm sure the pretty new colors will propel you guys into finally winning a playoff game.

You do realize that LeBron James, the greatest player in the NBA, is a year older than Jefferson and has logged many more minutes?

The injury thing is just a mild concern. Lots of players have overcome it. It's not career-ending as you are making it out to be. Al will be fine.

I do find it ironic that a Wiz fan would be calling another team's players old. Aren't you guys going to be starting a 38 year old SF? And isn't your back up PG about 40? Lol

And you can't look at box scores to determine the level of competitiveness of a game. The fact that a couple of the games were double digit losses is irrelevant to the conversation.. You didn't watch. Just admit it.

  13. Did you really say Wall and Beal aren't stars? Beal...I mean if you wanna see he has to show more of what he showed in the playoffs, maybe but not Wall

Wall is legit. Only PG id take over him is CP3.

You know you're my guy Bubble but I gotta disagree here

I do kinda love Lance tho

(Can't believe I just complemented CP3...hate that clown) lol

They absolutely are not stars. Up and coming stars? Possibly.

You wouldn't take Westbrook or Curry over Wall? Lol

  14. I'm reading he wants to be alpha dog in Charlotte. Good luck with that. Lance is certainly not someone you want as the primary wing scorer.

Charlotte has talent but they lack star power which is what you need to really be a 50 win team. I think Atlanta is the team out of contention from last year and replaced by Cleveland. However I still see Charlotte as no better than the 8th seed. They are a team desperate for elite talent which shows in offering mediocre players like Hayward max contracts.

Wall and Beal aren't stars. And Pierce is a fossil. You guys have no more star power than Charlotte. Jefferson was arguably the top center in the league last year.

  15. The Wizards underachieved all season. Our best players are young and were learning on the fly. Our go to scorer was a second year SG. The best player for Charlotte is an old vet who has never won a playoff game in his career. Worse, if he has plantar fasciitis, that will likely hinder him long term.

There are major differences in the ceiling of both teams. Charlotte lacks elite young talent and a deep team to really challenge the top East teams. They aren't bad, but no one is highly impressed by a team that looked pathetic in the playoffs. Even the Hawks were ten folds more competitive.

Do you honestly watch any team but the Wizards? How do you get Jefferson is an "old" vet?

Also, just because a team is swept doesn't mean they played horrible. Most of the playoff games vs the Heat were competitive, despite Jefferson not being 100%.

  16. I'll take the bait, fellas...

How are they not any better? They finished as a 5 seed and have had a GREAT offseason. This is as deep of a team that you'll find in the EC.

At the MINIMUM, they should win 50.

Charlotte was one game worse than Washington last year. And I think Charlotte improved their team more than the Wizards did this offseason.

I have zero doubts that the Hornets finish with a better record this year.

  17. You question why someone puts Charlotte as the 7th seed, but then you put last year's 5th seed, who advanced to the second round, and has added some good pieces to a good team, two spots lower than they we're last year?

Yep. I don't think the Wiz are any better than last year. They will be no higher than a 5 seed. Mark it down.

I think the Wiz were a 6 seed last year, btw.
