  1. Destino; Skip also said that Paul couldn't have played in the Bad Boys era because he wasn't tough enough (I'm paraphrasing) lol
  2. That Paul wasn't a superstar, or an elite PG.
  3. Skip is a moron. What he said about Paul was beyond stupid.
  4. How was I proven wrong? Lol You said that the NBA didn't use hip hop acts at the events I said they did. You produce one band that performed that wasn't, I gave you FIVE that did! Some people, I tell ya. You prove them wrong with clear facts and they STILL won't admit they were wrong. And btw, could you explain how me saying the NBA mostly caters to the younger, hip-hop generation is racial? You're the biggest race baiter on the board, man. You're act is beyond old. Did you even read the Greg Anthony and Dr Jack Ramsay quotes? Are they racists, too? Sheeesh!
  5. "The NBA All-Star Game took place Sunday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. While the game featured lots of highlights, the event was fueled by big musical performances before the game and during halftime.Oscar-nominated rapper Pharrell performed a medley of his hit songs before the show, including "Happy" and "Get Lucky." The hip-hop mega-reunion also included Nelly, Snoop Lion, Diddy and Busta Rhymes." And Joe: I think I'll take Greg Anthony's word over yours, if you don't mind.
  6. I have no idea what you're talking about with that first part. I clearly stated that the NBA marketing to the hip hop crowd doesn't keep people away. Like I said, I still watch. Matter of fact, used to be a Hornets season ticket holder. And it's just not this year that the NBA has used a guy like Pharrell to promote the playoffs. They do that every year. And usually at the all star game festivities as well. You're telling me that doesn't happen? Anyway, you might find these views interesting: ----------------------------- What does hip-hop's influence do for the image of the league? "Greg Anthony: The league, in its effort to draw young people to the game -- they are its future -- needs to keep a firm grip on both the present and past. So there's a generation gap that needs to be bridged. Hip-hop is here to stay. So, the league understands that it has to continue focusing on the game while getting folks to understand that we live in an age of exposure. That means the NBA has to work that much harder to insure the focus remains on the game and not its image." "Dr. Jack Ramsay: My opinion is that hip-hop lessens the image of the NBA. It lends to associating the NBA with street ball -- which really isn't basketball."
  7. I never said people didn't watch the NBA for that reason, Full of Excuses. But if you can't see that the NBA mainly markets to that crowd, then I dont know what to tell you. I gave you clear examples of it. I still watch. I was just disputing the OP's statement that the NBA could surpass the NFL soon. There's zero chance of that, and mainly for the reasons I listed earlier.
  8. It was pretty self explanatory, I thought.Just look at the commercials about the playoffs with Pharrel. Or the halftime entertainment at the all star game each year. It's pretty clear the NBA mainly markets the younger, hip-hop crowd.
  9. Right? But I was specifically referring to 'last' year. No one had more different uniform variations than UNC and Oregon.
  10. The NBA will never supplant the NFL, imo. Not with gambling and fantasy FB such a huge part of the NFL's popularity. Plus the NBA is mainly marketed to a specific segment of society (hip-hop generation).
  11. MD, Duke and NC State didn't have as many different uniforms as UNC. Have no idea where you get that from. And that helmet looks hideous, btw. Thanks for proving my point.
  12. It's a lot easier to allow a lot of different uniform/hat combos when you're playing 162 games.I can see why the NFL wouldn't want to go that route. Just look at Oregon and UNC. Seems like those two teams had a different uniform/helmet every week.
  13. Really? Your rec league had a shot clock? Hmm..But yeah, that's an idiotic thing to do for sure.
  14. I know right. The worst team in the West has 49 wins. No reason to think it won't be that strong again next year.
  15. Have you seen the one where the Denver mascot is shooting a half court shot and he jumps up and grabs it out of the air with both hands? lmao.
  16. DID YOU KNOW???: the Charlotte Bobcats have a better record since the all star break than the Miami Heat.
  17. Ok, now that we've signed "DeSean", can people learn how to spell the guy's name?
  18. I believe wallpaper went out in the 80s, Lar.
  19. So Nick Young is a clown, but not a loser? Gotcha. Seriously, why the hell are people even talking about this guy?
  20. Oh, HELL naw!Gizmo: that script R helmet and uniforms you did are badass.
  21. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one, Sin We used to wear actual gold back in the day. Now our gold resembles the bottle of French's mustard I keep in the fridge. I don't need a palette to tell me our pants are yellow. IMO, the Steelers' pants go nice with their jerseys. Same with the Packers. I dont think our pants go good with our burg tops. I think our uniforms need updating in general. Nothing dramatic. Something similar to what the guy posted above.
