  1. I really don't have any hopes of acquiring a solid rebounder as long as Grunfeld is in charge. When was the last time Ernie picked a rugged and well developed player right out of college? His free agent signings have been guys like Songaila, who are yet again offensively oriented soft players. He's had multiple opportunities to do so and he continued to pick big time projects with low IQ like Nick Young and McGee or sign guys who really don't fit the tough guy in the paint role. I think Seraphin could potentially be that guy but right now he can't sniff minutes over Armstrong so who knows how far he is away from being even a moderate contributor. I don't ever see Booker being a guy for this role. I think he will eventually develop into a decent rotation player but he's not a guy who will fight and do the dirty work in the paint. The last guy who we had that did this was Haywood and he was never appreciated by this franchise. Ernie has done some decent things but besides picking Blatche, his drafting has left a lot to be desired for. I'm not giving Ernie credit for Wall. Blatche is the only player in our current rotation that we drafted and who has turned into a pretty good player. That is pathetic.
  2. I'd be down for this. As long as the game isn't on a Wednesday night, I'll be able to go. We should set this up either the last week of November, the first week of December or the last week of December. Mid December kind of sucks because I'm sure a lot of us in here have final exams and other nonsense.
  3. Right because Jason Kidd being a great rebounder means every other PG has to be one too ...
  4. Cowherd is simply trolling now. He has a lot of egg on his face each and every time Wall has a great game. Rather than admitting that he's a moron, he will continue to hate.
  5. Scheyer had originally decided to come to our camp I believe. Then he switched out at the last second.
  6. Gil will get his game back. Took him a while last year as well. This team can still win games or at least be somewhat competitive most nights but it starts with Flip trusting McGee. As dumb as McGee is, he is still 100000000x better than Yi and Armstrong. Yi is grabbing a total of TWO rebounds and averaging 20 MPG. He is so ****ing soft, it's disgraceful that he's the first big man of the bench.
  7. Put about 75% of this on the coach. Going with a 2-3 zone to finish out the game was a great move. Great move towards tanking another game. Seems pretty obvious that we have no intention of winning games this year. Thornton left the game at 9:51 in the 4th, never came back in. McGee has his best game of the year but gets benched for Armstrong who grabbed 1 rebound all game. Yi and Armstrong both combined for about 28 minutes in total. Flip is a dumbass but at this point seems like the perfect coach to get us the #1 overall pick back to back years.
  8. Flip needs to kill the zone defense. We have a roster made up of dumbasses. The essence of a zone defense is having a center who's smart enough to man the middle. Right now between McGee and Armstrong, we might have the dumbest suckiest center pairing ever put together. BTW what is this about Arenas confidence you guys are talking about? Dude scored 14 in the fourth. Hit clutch three after another. Too bad for him that his offensive explosion was wasted thanks to Yi, McGee and Armstrong playing like a box of kleenex. Also less Kirk Hinrich please. I don't know what happened to this guy over his years in Chicago but he is a really really below average player now.
  9. Gil's taking over! The rest of the team is completely stinking it up.
  10. I've never had a problem with the NBA lottery system. I think it's fair that a sport that has the ability to be dominated by one individual sets restrictions on teams blatantly tanking. I do question whether the process is run fairly or not (not that I'm complaining). Seems a bit odd that we would win the lottery with such low chances. Couldn't have been that it was because an iconic owner died (had great ties with Stern), new owner with huge pockets took over and a potentially big market was on the line. I'm pretty confident that Stern envisioned Leonsis to turn the Wizards into what Leonsis has done for the Capitals. But then again, one has to wonder why he hasn't helped the Knicks, who are by far the biggest market just waiting to explode again on the NBA scene. Seems like the Knicks just can't catch a break. Eh, **** the conspiracy theories lol.
  11. Even when Rose and Tyreke Evans came in the league, their jump shots were highly suspect. Wall will no doubt get better and that's why I like having Gil around him. No better person to help learn how to shoot than a guy who practices close to a 1000 shots every practice. For all of Gilbert's problems, his practice and training intensity is something everyone on our team can learn from. McGee should have a good game tonight. Mosgov is the type of scrub that McGee always dominates. Gilbert coming off the bench but I hope we use him a lot more than Hinrich in the 4th quarter. I just hope that Flip doesn't go full retard with Wall-Gil-Hinrich line up. Thornton has been one of our better defenders late in games.
  12. Gil will help Wall with the ball handling duties. Right now Wall is the only guy on the roster who can dribble and create for himself or for others. Hinrich for every good thing he has done so far is extremely lousy at 1 on 1 play. Wall has to do everything right now.
  13. I have no problem with unifying the colors. That doesn't mean we are stealing anyone's tradition, especially considering that the Bullets used to sport the red, white and blue earlier anyways. It's just really lame that you have nothing from your own teams tradition to get the crowd to boo and everytime the opposing team is shooting FT's you have to use a football rivalry. If I want to boo the Cowboys, I'll go to a Redskins game.
  14. Pretty much. Nothing I've seen from Wall so far suggests that he's a ****y mother****er. He might be off the court but on the court he's all about the team and winning no matter what. I find this really pathetic that rather than celebrating the best rookie point guard performance in DECADES, people are whining about a stupid 30 second dance. Some really sad individuals.
  15. Jealousy it is. Arrington whined and whined about Wall being a pompous over confident a-hole while completely forgetting what kind of player he used to be. Can't see a brother do good. Arrington came with the same kind of hype, supposed to be the next LT blah blah blah and failed due to his own short comings and injuries. He doesn't have a problem with Ovechkin who kind of plays with the same swagger but he hates on the other guy who for all accounts shows no doucheyness on the court but did a 30 sec dance on his first ever home intro. Arrington is an extremely bitter individual and I say this as someone who used to be a huge fan of his. His on air pissed off attitude is pathetic.
  16. Haha I actually wrote an email to Ted this morning about that. It definitely makes us look like a second class team without a tradition of our own. I mean we surely are lacking in that department but I'd rather not use anything than borrow another teams identity.
  17. The only thing I found lame about the game was the constant use of the Dallas star. I know it elicits a lot of hatred but we can do better than using another sports rivalry to get our crowd going.
  18. Yeah not really sure why Chad was complaining about the crowd. Was he even at the game? The stadium was packed at around 75% but it was LOUD. Pretty much with five minutes left in the 4th till the end of overtime, everyone was on their feet. I had a guy from Idaho sitting next to me. He knew nothing about basketball but he was into it and rooting for the Wiz. My girlfriend who could give two ****s about basketball was having a really good time late in the game. Chad Dukes is a boob.
  19. Blatche actually has a pretty good basketball IQ. His passing is very good for a big man and you can tell he really understands Flip's system. His problem right now is his lack of conditioning. He's incredibly out of shape by not working out due to his foot injury. McGee on the other hand has no excuse. I don't understand how someone who grew up in a basketball family can be such a dumb player.
  20. Wade had a good mid range game by the end of his rookie season. I think the only similarities are how aggressive they are attacking the basket. You can definitely see a lot of Wade in Wall when we get on the fast break. No matter how many players are running back, Wall will get the bucket or the foul. Wall is a better passer than Wade. Wade is good at driving and dishing but his court vision isn't like Wall's. Wall is racking up these assists playing with a mostly lousy squad. I'll give Al Thornton credit though, he's not the selfish shot jacking loser I thought he would be. Excellent defense, attacking the rim and taking good shots. We might need to use Josh Howard off the bench.
  21. Wall's turnovers will go down once Gilbert comes back. Right now he is the only player on the team capable of handling the ball and doing anything with it. Having another player who can play off the dribble will help him out a lot. BTW pleasantly surprised by his jumpshot. It's not Steve Nash esque but he has good form and he's making a good amount of them to keep defenses honest. It's no where near as bad as say, Rondo. I'm guessing within three years he's going to be as deadly an outside threat as he will be attacking. Seriously, the sky is the limit for him and for our franchise as long as he is here.
