  1. You know, what happens after the palyoffs. Barry is smiling today, and likely wiping a little bead of sweat off the ole brow What will be hilarious, is next week when Baltimores new OC will overcompensate and go run heavy, and the DC he is facing is ready for it. #BaltimoreMeltdown
  2. Lets not laugh though. I think they won the super blow that year. Let's give Barry credit though, if even just for today.
  3. @UK_HOGTheir OC is an idiot and set his mind to pass on us. Perhaps he didn't respect his own run game; seeing his own GM releasing Forsett, using a journeyman in West, Dixon being eased in. It's like he didn't scout our D at all Did anyone see a single pass clearly blown off target? I think all will agree Hops kick was blown wide, sure. Winds come in gusts so its inconsistent and thus tough to gauge. Kirk 70% and Flack 65% - the stats say they had no issues.
  4. If the door on the GDT thread gets slammed closed right after the game, where is the best place to share all the various things that happened during the game? Here I guess. We only have 16 game threads to last a year; a post game discussion thread seems a good place to head after the game to talk things that could go into 10 different threads. Ty hustling over saved the INT TD and maybe the game. That was the play of the game. I actually thought the backers knee may have been down, before fumbling. It was close. I still want a gif of Trent signaling touchback. The Raven OC was an idiot. They should have run all over us. Our DBs injured list would be lengthy. I don't blame the wind for Kirk missing all the open WRs deep. He overthrew the same in both directions. Flacks deep ball hit his WR in the hands. Regardless, wind can be a factor for a QB until he proves otherwise, and I wonder if McVay's obvious game plan to go deep on 3rd and 1 considered the wind today. Rodgers in our 50 mph gust playoff game had no trouble. Flacco has a gun and had no issues today. We looked a hot mess on 3rd and 1. Almost neurotic. I cannot recall ever seeing a team go deep so many times after failing every time. That Jones long slow developing run up the gut was worth a laugh, especially after fumbling on the same play right before that. Why show run up the gut every time we do? Quick snap QB sneak, go 4 wide, there are other ways to run up the middle for 1 stinking yard. It was good to see Kelley get a few snaps. Dare I think Compton is better vs the pass than vs the run. The way Barry uses him, he should be as far off he is, and slow to move up, vs the run. The PI call on him was bunk.
  5. What is our next inappropriate celebration penalty going to be? I am going with a simulated discus throw. I was just throwing you the ball, ref.
  6. Yep, I still hate the 3-4. Anyone else notice Preston Smith, converted DE, in "coverage" early in the game? Sitting in his zone, really doing nothing. That 4th and 1 PAP, it looked like the TE was his to cover. He certainly reacted like it was his guy. Remember RAK covering D Hopkins in the slot? It's laughable to expect them to get a pass defended short of the WR running straight at them. All QBs with half a brain should salivate at seeing anyone that every played DE in pass coverage. Preston Smith to help our team has to be chasing QB's. It's why we drafted him. No one envisioned him in pass coverage, and I doubt few like him there. Besides Boring Bland Bare Bones Barry
  7. OK I am stunned Barry let Norman switch sides.
  8. I hope its not too early to start drinking for the game. #Insomniac I will need a break somewhere between now and kickoff
  9. Forte looks like he lost weight, or maybe it's just the ugly Jet unis. #BeatUpOnBuffalo
  10. The next time I hear someone say "Football Move" - the laptop is going out the window Isn't every single thing that is happening on the field, a football move? Suppose Antonio never moves after catching the ball. Is it not a catch, as time stands still? As it was, he started to turn and the ball got immediately stripped. He moved after catching the ball, he was not motionless. If that wasn't the start of a football move, nothing is a football move. Does a football move have to be fully and successfully executed? The league could use more turnovers to spice up the game and it could start with axing that dumbass rule.
  11. Poor Robert. 12/26 an INT a fumble and like clockwork, he got injured taking an unnecessary, and par for the course, awkward hit. He did have 190 passing yards, and 37 rushing leading his team to 10 points and a big fat L. CBS Fantasy kind of sucks. As I watch games and go to their game center to add a player to my scout team, there is no option to do so, even though I am logged in. And every time I click a score, I get a mandatory 30 second video that covers up all the players stats. In a PPR league, in the draft room, you cannot sort available players for PPR, only standard scoring. I miss the days where everyone thought an incomplete shovel was a fumble. I think finally, all have learned.
  12. It's for entertainment purposes only. That one just stuck out to me. So you are saying Hue should be an even longer shot to get fired, got it - thanks for the consult. I bet nothing. But what does it say if anything about us that the same experts had Jay most likely to get fired first last year; this despite RG3/Cousins as plan B, an elite LT, Almo DJ, Garcon Reed basically a solid foundation on O in a pansy division. Maybe bringing in far more experienced assistants vaulted him to most likely to be fired. What long shot to get fired, really isn't? I figure the experts would look at history of dysfunction, looking at Jay last year.
  13. Speaking of Vegas - first coach to get axed.... hmmm Cleveland Hue Jackson seems ripe at +3000. It is nice to see Jay is not the most likely candidate this year.
  14. I think Twitter is a good place to go for your twitter needs. I largely ignored the thread as the twitter accounts I cared about, I already perused.... wait for it. At twitter. That all said, it is easy to ignore a single thread, but think its existence limits deeper discussions, as the next Junior Galette tweet took precedent. I wish the thread would have spawned new threads but it didn't seem to. A suggestion for Bubba's News Forum, post all news for a given day in a single thread. Monday's Skins Sports section. Thanks to those that provide the endless content here to get us our obviously needed fix.
  15. I would guess a 99er doesn't know about Charles Mann... Maybe he is a hockey fan, or is a fan of the original Mad Max. With Goose pondering the ban....
  16. Ok 1st down on our 1. Swing pass to Helu who then catches it on the LOS, but awkwardly stumbles 99 yards all the way down the field, eventually falling down - ball extended a la Bryant, the ball breaking the plane as it hits the ground, and slips out of his hands. Incomplete pass, right? If not, after how many awkward rumblin' bumblin' stumblin' steps was it a completion? There needs to be some limitation on what "the process" is, and a better definition. I think the process should be the process of securing the ball. The process of catching the ball is complete. Contortion artists have no chance in this league. I kind of miss the days of the simplicity of 2 feet down, and possession. Football move? Everything you see happen on the football field is a football move. Let's start calling some of these plays fumbles instead of incompletions, too. We all laugh at Dallas and karma from the week before, but that was the best catch this weekend and it didn't count.
  17. My point was more Mike did not draft a single QBs in 2 years of a 5 year window to win. If you were the owner, wouldn't you be wondering about when he may draft one, and maybe say something to your coach? That was more my point. Mike didn't even take a 1 in a 100 chance on a late rounder developing into a backup. Maybe he stumbles onto someone that clicked with Kyle, and saves us all those picks. All those QBs you listed, also did not fail on their own. Perhaps they were not used to their strengths. Had a dumb stubborn OC with an oversized playbook. Maybe their OLs sucked ass, their confidence destroyed after getting pummeled week after week. Mike could have targeted Dalton, or passed on RG3 and taken Wilson or Kap of course. Mike paid a lot for one player in part because he was desperate. Or, did so out of spite towards Danny maybe meddling, or frustration after pushing all in on Beck and Grossman and looking like an idiot.
  18. If Dan did intervene and pressured Mike to go after RG3, it's because Mike was an idiot, and didn't even draft a single QB before RG3. This, into the 3rd year of a rebuild. How long do you want Dan to sit idly by, watching the clowns Mike was trying at QB? If you were a "hands off" owner, how many years into a rebuild would it take you getting those hands dirty, and start pushing for a QB to be drafted? Mike goes from not even drafting a single QB to try to develop in late rounds, to using 4 picks to draft 1 QB. There was no middle ground. And then burns a 4th on Cousins right afterwards. Mike's moves did not make sense to me. Maybe there was some spite in there. IMHO its foolish to not draft a single QB ~40% of the way into a 5 year plan. I stand with Dan on this one.
  19. The house he built looks an awful like that pirate ship down in Tampa
  20. I was watching GB vs Seattle. Anyone else think about the meltdown this board would have had last night watching what Aaron Rodgers did? 3rd and ~3, last first quarter. Scrambling left, no one in front of him, a sure first down, and at the last moment decides to heave the ball well over the WRs head out of bounds. The announcer was like, he had the first down, why didn't he just slide? It was pretty funny. The game happens damn fast, and he was probably fearing his life more than being aware of the LOS.
  21. Look for the best way to watch the game via Wifi on an Android Tablet. TIA.
  22. I want to see Gruden communicate to RG3 the first play of game, before RG3 runs out to the huddle. Twice in 2012 including in our playoff game, we had to burn a timeout on the first play of the game because of a crap communication system. It was evident to me that Kyle did not communicate to RG3, nor did he trust him to be a big boy and call Morris run / garcon pass in a failed radio event, and also showed me Kyle was a poor game day coach, having no provision for a failed headset. I would like Gruden to have at the ready, a few Chip Reed patented play call cards to hold up to use for emergency communication, or simply, have a plan. Like trust the QB. Of course, I would love to see the headsets removed altogether and the QB make play calls. I have yet to see how the game has improved since their implementation, and it also kills home field advantage, something all teams play for all year long. It lets the OC control the game more than I prefer. No one pays to see the OC. /rant
  23. Maybe the reason we kept Pat White last year was because Kyle had not evolved the offense to be efficient without the threat of the QB running. We all saw plain as day for the first month or 2 of the season, RG3 could not even turn the corner on a defensive lineman. Pat White was kept around for a few games as insurance, particularly so if RG3 needed more time to heal fully, started on PUP, got reinjured, etc. Kyle's offensive game plan for 2013 required a running QB. Its like he had no idea how badly RG3 got injured in January. Even Cousins was meh.
