This. Is. Insane.
My God...
-
Rua is so damn tough.
(It's 3-0 for Hendo though at this point)
-
Obviously Dana White is taking out his frustration with Hendo by making this 5 rounds...
-
Rua can take a shot, that's for sure. It's not the best idea to demonstrate it 10x a round though.
-
God...I love Hendo...ahha.
-
I probably heard it at some point, but I was kind of casual in following pride 5+ years ago.
-
I guess Dana White disagrees... via twitter : "That was a good stoppage! Cung was done"
---------- Post added November-19th-2011 at 11:01 PM ----------
Shogun's brother is nick named "Ninja" ? Original!
-
I didn't see Cung making a stink about it.
hah yeah...I'm not saying he wasn't hurt badly..
I just thought he was intelligently defending and taking a relatively small amount of damage.
(By relatively I mean relative to 10 seconds earlier when his face was getting caved in and the ref let it go)
-
Yeah, I realize the ref doesn't consider the clock at all in his stoppages, but Le had a single leg on Silva and those hammer fists at the end were not doing any damage. If he were able to defend 15 more seconds he would have made it to the end of the round.
-
Wow, Cung's nose is caved in.
Yeah, those knees were wicked.
-
Very bad stoppage. That ref screwed Le....
-
hah...Dana White on twitter : "If you boo'd during the Kampmann vs Story fight u should be beat with a stick!!!"
-
I picked Faber to win, but I really hope he loses.

Link 5 telling me that "This Domain has Protection, you can watch this stream here" And I can't click the "here"
Link 2 telling me Server not found: rtmp://live.wii-cast.tv.redirect
Crap!
Did you click on the link I posted?
I just closed it an reopened it again and it still works fine.

Yeah, it was a bit on the boring side by Bonnar's standards, but the crowd seems to be a little unreasonable. Bonnar was working the entire time to finish it.
It annoyed me ever more when he apologized and they just booed more. Dicks...hah.
-
Thanks Pat but none of these are working for me yet, will keep trying!

Bonnar split decision
Kampmann unanimous decision
Faber unanimous decision
Silva TKO (round 2)
Hendo KO (round 2)

Nice, they kept their classic opening. I was curious if they would revamp the PPV opening after Fox made them turn over control for UFC on Fox.

If that's true....JMM just lost the respect of quite a few people I would imagine. Even if you think you won, to come out and say you won't fight again unless the other guy admits he didn't win before? That's a punk move. It's not anyone elses fault your senile trainer didn't have the common sense to tell you to try and win the final 3 rounds.
Manny should just issue a reply that is "HA HA HA!!"
-
Until any fights are scheduled, I'm going to assume this is part of a negotiation tactic by Top Rank. They're basically telling Mayweather "this fight (Manny/JMM) was more entertaining and talked about than your last 5. You need this more than we do."
This is how boxing always is, everything surrounding the fight itself is only one step removed from professional wrestling in the theatrics and grandstanding involved.
-
Of course I was exaggerating, but there is no way Pacquaio should have a score of 116-112 over Marquez.
:helmet:
I totally agree, I think anyone that had either fighter winning that by more than 2 rounds is being a bit ridiculous. I personally had Manny by 2 (posted that before it was announced) but someone that had JMM winning it by 2 can make just as good a case for that also.
I think my initial frustration with people was that some were yelling it was a straight up robbery, implying that JMM clearly won by 3+ rounds (To be a robbery it has to be one sided...not a close fight).
In the end boxing is boxing, every year there is this type of fight that divides the community, as frustrating as it is....it does keep people talking.

@KevinI
Kevin Iole
Seeing reports that UFC did 4.6 million viewers on FOX. If true, that's far far less than I was thinking. Kimbo did over 6 million
How Kimbo became a ratings monster, I will never quite understand.
They revised it to 5.7 million in the US. I'm sure the international ratings for this was far bigger than Kimbo though.
It does have to be a bit disappointing...I'm sure Dana was hoping to see 6.5+.
-
The punch stats were a tad closer than I expected:
"According to CompuBox, Pacquiao landed 176 of 578 punches. Marquez connected on 138 of 436 punches, preferring, as in his first two fights, to counter punch. Pacquiao had a 117-100 edge in power shots."
-
So I missed the fight but I've skimmed through recent pages of this thread, do all of you guys think Pacman should have lost the decision? Or at best had a draw? Wow.
It was close....on here I appear to be in the minority agreeing with the decision (though I think the 116-112 judge was a nut). I actually think anyone who had the fight by more than 2 rounds for either fighter is off...
I'd avoid a lot of the technical recap and just watch the replay on HBO and draw your own conclusion. (Just like I'd say ignore the crowd who were in JMM corner)
-
Just so I'm clear, you don't think judges can be corrupted? I'm not saying JMM dominated this fight, I posted that at best he won a split decision. But one judge scored the fight 116-112, are you kidding me? At worse, this fight should be a draw but not a majority decision for either fighter.
:helmet:
Oh no, I think they easily can, but to say that no matter what he was winning even if he got knocked down 100 times? That's just a really extreme way to state things. I realize judges can be gotten to and convinced to nudge scoring on close rounds, wouldn't argue with that....this isn't 1923 though.

Hendo by decision.
If this goes the other way I'll riot in the streets...all by myself.
Rua won a single round.
I should add that Rua won that round 10-8 and someone may give Rua another...so...
