  1. only person i see with a chance at beating Pavlik is Arthur Abraham. i would favor Pavlik in the fight, but it would be classic. those are the two i want to see fight to unify the MW division.
  2. Cotto was very protected in his fights coming up, outside of Mosely he hasn't faced any serious threats to beat him. His people turned down a fight with Mayweather a couple of years ago. i agree with what you said about Calzaghe i can't agree with not being impressed by Roy Jones Jr. i don't understand the logic of blaming a guy for the era he was born in. Roy may not have had competiton, but he still beat and often embarrassed some poeple. he beat Toney & B-Hop. Its not just that he was a dominant champ, he did things in the ring you just didn't expect.
  3. even though Dana said himself that the Cote/Almeida fight was boring, Cote is scheduled to get the winner of A.Silva/Okami which is going to happen later this year. that being said, Dana's word regarding a promise of a title shot isn't exactly reliable
  4. Rampage is one of my 5 favorite fighters right now, i didn't want to see him lose either. the fact that he got Forrest in the powerbomb, despite his hurt knee and considering how big Forrest is, just shows u how strong that dude is  honestly since it was so extremely close, and there really is no other clear cut #1 contender, i wouldn't be surprised if they did an immediate rematch.
  5. i had it a draw personally. i think unanimous doesn't have quite the same definition in this instance. the only round i think all the judges agreed on was the 2nd.
  6. i understand that logic, i just don't agree with it. winning on points even if its close, is still a win. in some cases you only get one crack at a title, if i'm the one competing, i wouldn't care if it was dominant KO victory or razor-thin decision that went my way, a win is a win. the same standard has to be applied to all matches imo.
  7. Almeida is truly elite on the ground (competed in several ADCC tourney's), but despite what Rogan says, his standup is nonexistent. he's a one trick pony right now, that doesn't fly in today's MMA. 185 could have their own BJJ submission competition and it would be classic: Jacare Demian Maia Pahlares Fihlo Almeida Marquardt Lister Leites Lutter (the michael jordan of BJJ according to Mike Goldberg  )
  8. they usually only promote the main event & the "co-main event". Cote/Almeida had more title implications, thus it gets more promotion
  9. that tournament style wouldn't work from a business standpoint. championship matches = bigger buyrates. no way the UFC would risk losing that type of revenue i wouldn't mind seeing a Dream style tourney between the lhw contender to see who should be getting the next couple of shots Machida is definitely in the championship mix, he stopped Sokodjou, Franklin, beat BJ (yeah he was way out of his weight, but you still have to fight). more importantly outside of a late triangle by Tito, i can't remember Machida ever being in danger of losing a fight.
  10. i'm thinking Hendo may be staying at 185 as he rumored to be fighting Pahlares @ UFC 88 Bisping is at 185, althought Franklin is moving up the light heavyweight division is practically begging for a tourney
  11. pretty good job on that list, you only left out Thiago Silva
  12. exactly. this is why is wish the UFC had an official and public ranking system. right now it seems all you need is two straight victories regardless of competition and you get a title shot. Chuck will get a shot if he beats rampage Mir is getting a shot after being destroyed by Vera & beating Hardonk & Lesnar in his last 3 fights. how Dana can justify this with a straight face is beyond me. i think this scenario is certainly possible. but i think Dana will go with Wandy vs. Page pretty soon. i could see Anderson facing someone like Thiago Silva if he gets past Irving, and should he beat Thiago Silva, he'll probably get a shot. i would love to see Thiago vs. Anderson
  13. they train together, so i doubt they would fight each other
  14. i don't think Dana is going to let Machida anywhere near the title until he proves he can be exciting consistently
  15. yep, if Chuck beats Rashad he'll be streamlined to a tile shot. i'll be rooting heavy for Rashad just on the principle that being 2-2 in your last 4 fights should not be enough to get you a title shot in a deep division.
  16. if you think rampage had "close to zero offense" i would suggest rewatching that fight
  17. if it was dominant it would've been clear cut. had that fight been scored a draw or even a victory for Ramapge, not too many would have been crying foul. Penn vs. Sherk = dominance GSP vs. Hughes II & III = dominance forrest vs. page, not so much
  18. single craziest round of boxing i've seen since the 10th round of Corrales/Castillo I. still can't believe that ****. Lamont Peterson looked great on the undercard.
  19. round 1 page(10-9) round 2 Forrest (10-8) round 3 page (10-9) round 4 page (10-9) round 5 Forrest (10-9) i had it draw
  20. i have Rampage up 1pt going into the final round
  21. i give Page 1st & 3rd, Forrest 10-8 in the 2nd. i got i even goin into the 4th
  22. Roy Jones Jr. is on his way to kick your ass
