  1. What if his ideas for assembling a staff are trash? Too much we don't know, and will probably never know. Oh well, maybe they won't get THE guy until the next coaching cycle.
  2. Yeah, if the offensive play-caller type is out then I would have preferred Raheem Morris. Like ordinary joe jobs ask for references, Morris had a ton of those lol
  3. It is very difficult to bring in an entirely new staff. Definitely will be holdovers left on the coaching staff from Rivera's tenure. Probably more lower level guys maybe.
  4. My concern (cuz errrbody has made me concerned) is what kind of staff can be put together this late in the process? Seems like a lot of Rivera holdovers may stay. Bienemy may still end up as the OC
  5. Johnson doesn't seem too confident in himself, tbh. Was Slowik too much of a doofus for them? Maybe he's the dummy with the bad idea for the D-coordinator
  6. I was thinking about this exact thing a few weeks ago and was wondering if the very slow trend of non-white QBs becoming commonplace over the last 15-20 years could be the precursor to non-white offensive coaches breaking into the coaching ranks, eventually. Progress on that front was slow, so perhaps the progress on the coaching front may take longer? Idk, just a thought. Side note, I'd prefer an offensive minded, play caller to be HC to marry with young QB... But I'm not going to act like I'm in on these interviews and know much about non-retread coaches.
  7. Misleading tweet. Implies that they made a jump from position coaches to HC. Campbell and Reid were Assistant Head Coaches. Kinda' significant
  8. O maybe they don't draft him cuz they have better inside info. Can only help in player evals come late April when they have to make a choice at #2. If they're still picking at #2......
  9. Well, Cowboys recent run of competence has also coincided with Stephen (Jerry's son) taking on a much more prominent role with running the ops over there. He and McClay seem to be able to repel Jerry enough to run things well in the front office. I hope McClay gets the $$$ there or gets a huge GM gig elsewhere. Very deserving executive from all accounts.
  10. Casting a wide ass net, using accomplished consultants, requesting interviews ahead of time.... Is it Christmas, still? Homerun post. Been saying this for years.... So difficult to actually win Super Bowls, but this team can't even get these important processes correct, let alone have the results we all desire.
  11. It's amazing that JP Finlay, Albert Breer, me, you, etc. have had to make this point over and over this morning as if it wasn't said in the tweets and leaks before. This is all VERY GOOD and WELCOME news if you are curious about how the process for hiring the GM and coaches will go.
  12. I wouldn't fret too much over the Marty's still being here. Free agency and draft prep is ongoing so they are probably just there for those day to day duties until the new GM/Team Prez decides what to do with them.
  13. These advisory hires alone reveal that Dan was playing checkers (poorly, I might add) and competent ownership requires you at least attempt to play chess.
