  1. There are some other ways too. 1 year of starting and 53% completion % are 2 that say BUST. I think it was real dumb to think about moving up to #4 in the 1st round for that. I'd take Levis over him, and I don't like Levis at all. Or Hooker. That would be more of a "middle" ground. I don't think you're looking for any, at all. Yep. throwing him out there out there day 1 would be a nightmare. He'll need a couple years to have a chance.
  2. That is literally the worst thing we could have done. I think Richardson is going to bust hard.
  3. That has literally nothing to do with what I was talking about.
  4. I'd think he'd want to show new ownership that he was interested in building a better team, to improve his chances of not getting fired.
  5. I understand that, but LB was the biggest issue on D last year, IMO. Barton is a lateral move to a player that was average at best. Davis is no stud, and has been underwhelming. Depth is poor. David Mayo is still on the roster. Waiting for a June 1st cut is pretty sketchy.
  6. This. All of this. Ron is so caught up in "position flex", that he doesn't get real talent. Especially on the OL. Sure, we have 9 guys that can play 74 positions, but do we have anyone that is really good? No. And none of them really have any size, either. My guess is that EB wants mobile guys that can pull, and I get that. I just don't really like it. I don't think a finesse blocking scheme is going to match well with the fronts we're going to be facing in the division, or goes well with a power back scheme, that he seems to want. Washington Commanders R1 (16): CB Emmanuel Forbes, Mississippi State R2 (47): CB Jartavius Martin, Illinois R3 (97): C Ricky Stromberg, Arkansas R4 (118): T Braeden Daniels, Utah R5 (137): EDGE K.J. Henry, Clemson R6 (193): RB Chris Rodriguez Jr., Kentucky R7 (233): LB Andre Jones, Louisiana Day 1: The 26th-ranked player on PFF’s big board, Forbes was elite when it came to playing the ball in college. He produced an 87.2 PFF grade in 2022 and finished his three-year career at Mississippi State with 14 interceptions and 17 pass breakups. Day 2: Martin comes off the board 47th overall to Washington after slotting in at 94th on the PFF big board. He can fill a versatile role in the secondary for the Commanders, who clearly placed an emphasis on improving that group in this draft. He’s played everywhere from outside corner to slot corner to safety in his five-year career at Illinois. Stromberg could wind up as a starter anywhere on the interior in the NFL, but this is one of the biggest reaches of the day. He ranks 228th on the PFF big board. He did grade well in college, though, producing an 83.4 PFF run-blocking grade and a 77.1 PFF pass-blocking grade. Day 3: Daniels started at left guard in 2019, right tackle in 2021 and left tackle in 2022. He’ll likely fit in best on the interior in the NFL, but he offers athleticism and versatile depth for a Washington offensive line that finished last season as the 24th-ranked unit in PFF pass-blocking grade. After news came out right before the draft that the Commanders are not planning on exercising the fifth-year option for 2020 No. 2 overall pick Chase Young, they trade up to add K.J Henry off the edge. This doesn’t necessarily mean a move is imminent — we’re now in the fifth round, after all — but is notable nonetheless. Henry earned an 84.0 pass-rush grade with a 15.9% pass-rush win rate in 2022 but is a bit older and didn’t test very well. The Commanders add another bigger, power back to their backfield who can contribute as an early down grinder in the run game. Rodriguez took a step back from a production standpoint in 2022 behind a worse offensive line, but he still earned an elite 90.7 PFF rushing grade behind 3.8 yards after contact per run and 64 missed tackles forced. The Commanders add another bigger power back who can contribute as an early-down grinder in the run game. Rodriguez took a step back from a production standpoint in 2022 behind a worse offensive line, but he still earned an elite 90.7 rushing grade, averaging 3.8 yards after contact per attempt and forcing 64 missed tackles. Jones is a long edge rusher (6-foot-5 with 34-inch arms) who has delivered 70.0-plus PFF pass-rush grades and at least 30 pressures in each of the past two seasons at Louisiana. He’s experienced with nearly 2,500 defensive snaps across six college seasons. DRAFT GRADE: B https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2023-nfl-draft-grades-for-all-32-teams
  7. I don't understand why our FO is ok with where we are at LB. I mean, it's bad, and we didn't really do anything in FA. Nothing in the draft. Not even a UDFA, and there were a couple that I think are better than what we have now. I just don't get it. And when you consider our HC and DC are both ex LB's?
  8. Jumbo, you are absolutely in rare form today. I needed that laugh.
  9. I'm not a big fan of him as a draft pick, but I see the value of having him. I think he could have been a UDFA easily. But we basically have 3 power backs now. and I'm not sure we have a OL that works well with that kind of running attack. Where does that leave Gibson? 3rd down? Ex WR could be nasty.
  10. Anyone watch this guy much? Seems like a head-scratcher to me to trade up for him. I'm trying to be nice.
  11. Yeah, I came to that conclusion as well, just kinda hit me when I started looking at the FA linemen we took, and then this draft. Of course, now I'm panicking a little, because I see that style of finesse offense getting blown up in this division.
  12. I'd like to see him add 15-20 pounds, but I do like his athleticism. Hope for a diamond in the rough.
  13. If he gets around 180+ he'll be fine. I'm not really worried about that, I think he will get there.
  14. See, I love this. LOVE THIS! I'm not that hard to make me happy.
  15. I guess it's because of this "Buffalo Nickel" crap that Del Rio has us playing. Don't need 3 decent LB's I hope he is gone next year. I also would LOVE a real MLB to go along with Davis. This piece-mealing stuff at really important positions is really getting to me.QB of your defense? Sign a guy another team cut. Not because he was too expensive, but because he just wasn't that good.
  16. I think he will be, I don't think Ron or Del Rio will be though. Zone blocking schemes don't really do well over here in the BEAST. Especially with how Philly has loaded up on D. And that is what i looks like we might be running, as least to my untrained eyes.
  17. Actually, I think one of the issues is we really have no idea on what he wants to run. If the OL pickups are an indication, it's not going to be smash-mouth. And now that that part occurs to me, it has me worried.
  18. $5 says you can find that in a UDFA. Unless they have a plan for something other than a blocker on 3rd down, this is a wiff.
  19. He's redundant. We have 3 of those. Needed a 3rd down back, and Keaton Mitchell is right there.
