  1. So, because they took Brock Purdy with the very last pick in the draft two years ago, and he happened to work out, they're going to pick JJ McCarthy 2nd overall because he is similar to Brock Purdy?
  2. Unlike previous years, Schefter has no idea what we’re going to do. In the past, he had some kind of pipeline into the organization. That stopped once AP got here.
  3. Meh, that’s overblown hyperbole. Of course he can, and he should if we can get this guy in the third, steal! If he is dumb again and gets another DWI, cut him for pennies on the dollar.
  4. This to me is the biggest reason to stay away from JD and JJ - both had unbelievable talent surrounding them. JD was incredibly pedestrian until the move the LSU with an all star WR corps. Both receivers he had are likely going in the first round. Did Maye play with anyone going in the top 3 rounds? I don’t think so.
  5. This is going to be the longest wait until the draft that I can remember. And all the while, we’ll be agonizing over JD vs DM vs JJ.
  6. JTO doesn’t hold back, man. Drake Maye seems to be a real heads scratcher to most scouts. The question will be if the mistakes are correctable. I could see a scenario where we take DM and sit him for most of the first season behind Mariota so he can clean up some of the issues it appears he still has. On another note: that’s a beautiful condo they are recording from. Love those floor to ceiling windows and all the natural light. What city is that?
  7. Those camera angles are criminal. You can't see anything other than his footwork and throwing motion. No idea where the ball location is, how much velocity is on the throw, etc. Not helpful.
  8. Exactly the guest’s point. Just because they won a national championship doesn’t mean that McCarthy was the key piece. They won it with their incredible defense and excellent run game.
  9. Agreed - every kickoff was a touchback save for rare occasions. Plus, if the kicking team doesn't kick it between the 20 yard line and the end zone, it is a big penalty - similar to kicking it out of bounds - the ball is placed on the 40 yard line. Should make these situations really gripping to watch for all involved - be it the team ahead or the team behind. And isn't it nice to finally have some forward thinking: knowing that this change was likely coming, we brought in lots of special teams skill players to capitalize right away.
  10. I was listening to G&D and they had someone on today that was talking about the Pelissaro news. Namely, that Jim Harbaugh is hoping like hell that either Daniels or Maye slip to #5 so he can trade back and get a haul so he's really pumping JJ. The guest (Kedric Gohlston maybe?) said that if Harbaugh really thought JJ McCarthy was such a stud, why didn't he use him like that then. They relied so much on their defense and the RBs to grind out the games that McCarthy was asked to do very little, but wouldn't Harbaugh want to use those supposed skills and talents (ala Andrew Luck) if he really thought they were there? I thought that was a really interesting take and likely the best analysis I've heard on the situation since it grew legs.
  11. Especially after the Trey Lance debacle. This is his chance to get it right and put all of that behind him.
