I don’t look at it as rooting against the team. I prefer to think of it as rooting for their future success which doesn’t include the current regime or front office staff. Set our next group up with a bevy of options for how to address the needs of the team under new management. Having the highest draft picks possible certainly helps that.
I’m wary of a guy, in Daniel’s, that performed at an elite level for only one season. Yes he was a four year starter, but to be considered a day 3 pick going into the season and then winning the Heisman is a red flag for me.
I had that same exact thought this morning - watching Purdy and McCaffery this weekend, they look like they want to steamroll every team from here on out and make sure they are firing on all cylinders going into the playoffs. Good news for my fantasy team, as I drafted McC and traded for Purdy.
