The thing I like about BJ is the fact that he was absolutely in demand last offseason and went back to be an offensive coordinator again. Shows that he knows there is still room for growth.
Wow, back when the draft was held in a Marriott conference room. I remember being excited about Schuler. Who knew he’d make more of a name for himself in politics?
If he does, I’m not upset. BB was exposed the minute Brady left the Patriots. Plus, if he gets personnel control (hard to believe he will wrestle it away from Jerruh) oh man! He’ll set them back a decade.
Build the offensive line, take a trade back and grab Fashanu. I’m not thinking it’s a good idea to reach on guys that aren’t necessarily Andrew Luck type talents (can’t miss).
I was really impressed with Houston’s offense last night. The play selection was damn near perfect on a number of drives, manipulating the Cleveland defense and then going for the kill. Definitely showed a keen understanding of what the Browns defense was trying to do.
I also kinda know Bobby Slowik from his time with the Redskins. His wife and he went to our church and participated in a number of young adult activities so I got a chance to chat with him a number of times. He’s incredibly down to earth and humble. A genuinely good guy.
I see this as John Lynch landing Kyle Shanahan and working so closely with him to build the 49ers to what they are. First time GM brings in hot shot young OC and they grow together through the years.
It also feels like breaking the rules. Isn't that seen as tampering by the league? Floating a $ amount out there seems violating the spirit of the cap (or something... F you Mara!)
I think what scares some people away from Maye is the fact that he rarely put a team on his back and willed them to a win, even against inferior opponents.
I'm betting Penix may rise into the top three conversation if he balls out against Michigan. And I would be hard pressed to not give him consideration at #2 overall. If there weren't (legitimate) health questions, he would most likely be in the top tier of QBs coming out this year.
I still think Howell is salvageable. Get him a decent offensive line and see what happens is my opinion... dude had people in his face constantly for 90% of the season, no wonder he's a little shell shocked. He looked great under pressure even during those early games.
