  1. That's what this is, entertainment. Andy & Nick are 2 of the best entertainers in the biz. Sit back & enjoy! I knew advancing % was BS. Diaz 43- Silva 9. Ha. Oh! Almost a fryklund elbow.
  2. 1. Is normal, I a fighter, I come to fight. Dana is boss, Dana make fight, I come fight. 2. Love it! But Kevin might not make 205 for a title fight if Rumble wins. Might be Gastelum v. Mark Hunt 2016, which would be awesome. Same problem as Lineker, too short for the weight class they SHOULD be fighting in. On Weidman, if he's out until July-still no timeframe- this will be the 2nd time in 5 years he's had a year off between fights. Had a year off after Munoz, suppose to fight Boetsch & pulled out, then got Silva1. Also delayed the fight with Machida with an injury & now 2 times with Belfort. Not saying he's injury prone or anything, buts he's more Cain than Cowboy if ya know what I'm saying. If he gets injured before his next fight & is out a total of +/- 18 months (fights end of 15/start of 16) with 3 fight killing injuries in a row, do they go interm belt at 185?
  3. Lineker is an idiot, he's missed before & when he does make weight it's usually on the second attempt. After his last weigh in with McCall he made 126 on his 2nd attempt, then McCall got an infection & pulled out. This moron had the nerve to ask for a title shot in an interview shortly after saying making weight is no longer an issue with him. I'd normally say go up a class, but dude's a midget, like 5'2" or something, 135 has a lot of guys 5'10" & up. sucks 'cause he's a really good fighter. Cut the kid & tell him not to come back until he drops a shirt & pants size.
  4. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the fight, no predictions. All other fights on that card are a bonus to me. I like Gastulm but to be honest the other main card fighters could consist of matches with CM Punk, Kimbo & Butterbean and I'd still buy this PPV.
  5. This is one fight I want either fighter to slip & break an ankle on the way into the ring, I really dont want to see either of these guys take a hit. Cro Cop got his name by being a cop, GO BACK TO BEING A COP. You understand when a guy has no other options, but this is just sad. As for Rumble & Gus, no prediction but I hope Gus wins to set up the rematch. Also wouldn't mind seeing Rumble winds I think he could give Jones a run for his money if he gets an impressive win tomorrow. So Gus by any means necessary or Eumble by something awesome or complete domination, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy. Don't get me started on Sanchez v Kampmann, I've typed too much about that here previously, & it does nothing to make me feel better, only more pissed off every time I remember it. I though Myles Jury was a wizard since he won a Dec. over Diego, but I didn't see him fight. After the Cowboy fight I figured Myles just ran away from the crazy flurries that miss 99% of the time. Martin was the best 170 I ever saw not to get a title shot. I also picture Diego throwing punches from 15 feet away & KO'ing a ton of air, but not Myles, & crying after the decision. That though almost makes up for Kampmann, but not quite.
  6. Well that went as planned. Kid's a good striker. If he beats Aldo, how do they keep him away from the wrestlers then? I guess the plan is he's worked on his ground game enough by then. I'm not impressed by stopping Siver's takedowns, he's not known for them. The top 10 of the division says it all; the guys ahead of him he's jumping are Edgar, Lamas, Mendes & Swanson, the guys behind him he hasn't fought are Lentz, Bermudez & Oliveria. Talk about an easy path through a mine field. After the fight, Joe mentioned Aldo was coming in the ring- I thought bad idea, but I live it, Jose might flying double knee his way into the ring & Conor wanted to go- so Conor replies to get his spit bucket for Aldo to polish up the belt for him while ge has it. When Joe told him Aldo ain't coming in, he said he left for Brazil with that spitbucket. I can already see the reebok t- shirts with a spitbucket on them after those slick McGregor crest T's his corner had on. Should be a good fight. Does Cowboy get the next shot after RDA now or was that not good enough?
  7. Or what's more likely is the NSAC's tests haven't caught up with the cheaters and can't explain these anomalies. DC's also had an abnormally low T/E ratio in both his pre fight tests. I never thought either guy was dirty, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they are or decided to use something for this fight specifically. If they did use, this is a fight "worthy" of using, for lack of a better term. & given DC's history with USA wrestling, which has had know cheats & PED use in the system for a long time and with Jones being in wrestling too it's not out if the realm of possibilty that they would at least have in been in contact with people who did use PED's. I think this is the NSAC trying to save face more than anything. I dont think Jones CIT results or any of DC's results have been released, Bennett from the NSAC was quoted as saying "just trust me." which just comes off as pretty sketchy at this point. I dont really care either way-have guys transplant lungs, change their blood & have stimulants on IV in between rounds or make them both be clean-just be consistent with punishment, both the NSAC & the UFC. If you smoke weed a month out of your fight you get suspended from NSAC & lose $ from UFC, but coke a month out gets nothing from both. Anyone think the UFC lawsuit might have an effect on the way they handle this? Like maybe they don't want to appear too heavy handed & "monopoly like" by withholding pay or imposing any punishment at all? Or is it all the fact that Jones is a draw & makes them good money?
  8. Not surprising. And to NoCal's point about the media, Kevin Iole from Yahoo is proving to be a UFC puppet. He ran the article right away explaining why the UFC did nothing, saying they would have violated a contract, but doesn't touch on how they violate terms of other contracts when they rip purses or bonuses. Then on twitter Iole tries to reaffirm that the 2nd test done Dec. 18 (Dec. 4 first test) was b/c of positive test for cocaine first time. Turns out the 2nd test didn't even test for street drugs, so the lab wanted to look at something else, like maybe that suspiciuoslly low T/E ratio. Conspiracy theory is he takes excess estrogen to mask PED use. Kevin Iole is still trying to spin it like a paid UFC PR employee. I can't read his crap anymore after this.
  9. Don't take it personal as a Diaz fan, Dana just needed to distract from Bones & his nose candy. Plus we all knew this was coming, at least for Anderson anyways. I bet Dana already has the poster for memorial day made up in his office for the trilogy.
  10. Yeah & Diaz tested positive for metabolites, which means he did not consume any weed in the weeks leading up to the fight, but had some in his system. Jones also tesetes positive for metabolites, but the difference is weed stays in your system for up to 45 days (likely for a daily user like Diaz) where as cocaine leaves your system in as little as a few days. That means Jones did coke- I don't think it's crack- at the end of November/beginning of December or 4 weeks/ 1 month out from his fight. Diaz followed the rules given, didn't consume weed for a month & got suspended, jones got high a month out of his fight, doesn't have his decision overturned, doesn't get suspended & lose his purse or bonus. Diaz also has a license for weed in California- not recognized in Nevada; does Jones hold a Dentists or Pharmacists licence? Those are the only 2 professionals in the US allowed to possess & use cocaine (on patients) legally. Weed is for losers kids, do coke like the champ! If you get busted, you keep your belt & still get paid-which you will need because coke ain't cheap.
  11. Jones can lose at LHW, if someone sticks to a decent gameplan against him & doesn't stay in front of him eating those low kicks & spinning elbows on the way in. Gus almost did it, staying off center and coming in at an angle, I'm surprised DC didn't try the same. Round 5 was exactly what I feared & did not want that fight to turn into: 2 wrestling meatheads in a takedown contest- that was so ****ing boring and the exact reason pro wrestling on TV involves strippers, fireworks & scripts, the real crap is far to painful to watch. I just hope Gus beats Rumble so Jones can't run from him. If Gus loses & then wins his next 5 I can see Jones running from him, either taking other fights or going to HW. Gus Jones 2 needs to happen in 2015.
  12. Count me in the same camp, I want DC to win & think he can if he fights smart, but one little mistake could cost him the fight. Sloppy footwork or even taking one too many front low kicks to the knee could change the outcome of that fight. I just checked the odds, Bones is -165, DC +145. For refence, Silva was -230 & Weidman was +185 I think for their first fight.
  13. I feel like a 6 year who has older brothers that watch the UFC, and I'm talking to my kindergarten pals about who would win a UFC fight, a WWE pro wrestler or a Power Ranger when reading the last page of this thread. Next up, Charlie Sheen vs. Ashton Kutcher in the twitter/ 2 1/2 men Throwdown! Special guest referee Vern Troyer, or Matt Hughes if Mini Me can't get a license in time. Spider, please come back, we need you.
  14. Not until someone else says his name 3 times, or you start ripping up his contract but even then it's still only 50/50. The only safe way to prevent Paul Harris from tearing your knee's to shreds is by amputating your own legs before you fight him. He'd look across the ring at your stumps and probably cry.
  15. Yep, twice on the one knee, this time on the other. I'm not even that big of a fan of his & I feel for him, that's just horrible. Just over a month away from the spider's return, & we get a wicked personal grudge match in Jones DC & get to see the spectacle that is McGregor before that. January is going to be a good month for UFC fans. The UFC must be desparate for PPV dollars, Lawler Big Rigg 3 gets greenlighted for not even 400k PPV buys & signing rampage after CM Punk? What's next, signing a Kardashian to fight for their millions of twitter followers? Just give us 2 championship fights per PPV & we'll all cone back in droves. With 10 divisions now & champs fighting just more than 2 times a year the math works for 11-13 PPV per year.
  16. Barao is being penalized for ko'ing himself during the weight cut for his rematch with TJ. As for Fitch winning the suit, I have read a few lawyers & economist's opinions and it doesn't look good for the fighters. Generally, antitrust protects competition, not competitors, so the fact that the UFC has few big time competiting promotions is not the issue. Where the case might hold water-because this point alone won't win it as I understand it- has to do with the UFC owning fighter image rights for life. The suit argues that when a fighter tries to go to a rival promotion they are not able to offer a full set of services since the UFC owns their image rights and the fighter does not receive an offer worth his full value since some services are owned by the UFC. All pundits with experience in the field of anti trust think this will either be dismissed or settled if it does go ahead, no trial or verdict will cone from this, the UFC would not want to disclose how much they make. Best case scenario is fighters get a settlement to cover 3+ years of legal fees, maybe a bit of cash & fighters get their image rights back. Maybe fighters end up negotiating smarter as a result.
  17. Woodley's not hard to figure out, you said it yourself, just in the wrong order. He's an average fighter with knockout power. He gets a few in a row & looks like a world beater, if he doesn't get the KO, he looks like he barely belongs in the top 10. Gastelum by 2nd round finish, I'm pulling for a gogoplata as usual. I really hope Joe Silva's opinion on Hendricks holds water at the UFC. Plus a 3 headed monster at 170 of Rory, Lawler & Gastelum/Hendricks wouldn't be a bad thing. Makes me wonder what Condit is going to look like when he gets back.
  18. Yeah I didn't see that either, but they did show 3/4 semifinalist in the crowd-missing was Canadian Randa Markos. I'm pulling for Randa patriotically of course, but think she'll be in tough versus Rose, but if she gets past her, I think she could take Jessica Penne in the finals & would love to see her & Carla scrap. Good fights on TUF so far, hopefully that keeps up.
  19. Please post your next fight dream early, with the round & time if possible. I'm going to bet your dream next time. I have no idea how Robbie got 49-46, unless you think he won round 4 with defense as me & my buddy where joking while watching it. Get the finish if you dont like the decision Mr. Hendricks. He didn't deserve the belt with those take down attempts that just turned into pins against the cage, good on Herb for breaking that up later in the fight. GSP would fight the same way, but he would at least get the takedown & do stuff-pass guard, strike, go for a sub- Hendricks went full wrestler & thought just a pin was worth points. Please dont rush the trilogy, give Johnny a fight or 2, then have them go again, there are plenty of other good title fights at 170 that can happen before we see these 2 again.
  20. I'm still recovery fron the head cold, so hone with Bellator & then out to a bar for Hunt. Glad I saw some of those Bellator fights, hopefully Brooks Chandler keeps up the trend of decent fights tonight. He might have lost a decade of memory's with that KO, completely separated from concisousness as soon as the shot connected. BTW, I have no interest in Tito Bonnar, does anyone care for that fight at all or is it just Spike, Bellator & Jenna Jameison that care tonight?
  21. I'm hearing that the big announcement Will be that Connor McGregor will be crowned the 148lb champion, in a division which allows no wrestlers of any skill and no decent strikers. Also, all fights will air on a special section of UFC FightPass, called Connor's Corner and will cost an extra $50/month. Oh, and Cain, Bones, Anderson, Weidman, Aldo, Faber & Rousey will all fight exclusively on Connor's Corner Cards. I'm unusually bitter today, 4 days with a head cold will do that to a person.
  22. Ummm, this might not be the best time to point this out, but Shogun was announced to be the coach on TUF 4 Brazil opposite Anderson- without the coaches fighting. Before this fight Rua said he would be open to fighting Silva Please dear God don't let that happen, no one wins in that fight, not the fan, obviously not the loser, and not even the winner because no one will be happy in Brazil if either of them lose. Shogun looked more old-man like than Dan Henderson when Vitor KO'd him coming in head first at a stupid angle. Can't wait for Hunt, he barley has a shot, but I really hope he wins just to see if the belt actually fits around that belly or Dana has to ask Hunt's cornerman to hold the 2 ends together behind Hunts back as Dana raises his hand. Roy Nelson would have to wear the belt as a bra, but Mark Hunt's chest isn't much smaller than his waist so things could get interesting.
  23. I know, I checked for tomorrow, still screwed. HBO has Hopkins fighting Saturday as well, I know I will get that, dude is 49 & still going.
  24. WTF, I checked the listings on the UFC's Canadian website last week which noted Shogun was going to be on TV. I just checked my guide & it's not on.Screw it, I'll watch Hopkins' tune up fight for GGG, lol. Anyone get the feeling the UFC's "big announcement" on the 17th will be some way to screw the fans into buying something like FightPass Plus or some other way to limit free access to fights? I know they want to get out of their Canadian TV deal and other countries too.
