  1. I was very impressed with Lauzon. I know he is good, but that cut he had was pretty nasty and I think he knew that if it went to another round, it could get stopped. He needed to find a way to end it, and quickly. And he did. That kid is incredible on the ground.
  2. I am not a fan of Penn, but I hope he does not retire.
  3. Was UFC Primetime an hour last night as previously stated? If so, i only DVR'd one of the episodes. Fudge.
  4. Is that supposed to be offensive? I don't like Penn, so does that make me not a real MMA fan, or a fanboy? I don't like Penn because I think he is a prick. But I sure as hell respect his ability. This is the best way it has been put.
  5. Just my opinion, but I do not think that is true. I think he may have the most raw talent of any fighter in MMA, but I do not think he is the most popular. I think his attitude turns a lot of people off. It's not a popularity contest, but am I crazy to think that GSP is just as popular as BJ?
  6. Fudge. I was looking forward to the Condit-Larson fight.
  7. That's the same thought I had. And I don't like it.
  8. He has a chance, but how much of one, I am not sure. He pounded Rothwell, but did not particularly impress me against Roy Nelson. If he does not look any better against Fedor than he did aginst Nelson, he is doomed. If he can keep it standing, he has a shot. But I don't think he will be able to.
  9. The Snowman is on a roll lately... http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/monson-arrested-for-domestic-violence-15878 Monson Arrested for Domestic Violence Wednesday, January 21, 2009 Loretta Hunt Former UFC heavyweight contender and professed anarchist Jeff Monson remains incarcerated at the Davies County Detention Center on Wednesday, after he was arrested Monday night on domestic violence and property damage charges in Advance, N.C. Authorities were called to the residence of Stephanie Trapani, 30, and detained Monson for “assault to a female” and “damage to property” following an alleged domestic dispute, said Capt. Hartman of Davies County Sheriff’s Office. Trapani and Monson had a “dating relationship,” said Hartman. Trapani was also arrested for damage to Monson’s property. The Olympian reported Monday that Trapani had discarded Monson’s cell phone after finding out he was involved in romantic relationships with other women. On the fighter’s voicemail message, a female’s voice notified callers that Monson had “lost” his cell phone and to leave detailed contact information. Capt. Hartman said Trapani posted bail on Monday and has obtained a 50B contact order, denying the fighter “any contact whatsoever” with Trapani. “He destroyed my house," Trapani told The Olympian on Monday. "He started just bashing holes in the walls and the columns." Trapani said Monson also grabbed her during the argument. Click link for more info...
  10. Yep, I have not respected him for a long time. He is either a nutjob, or he really craves attention. Either way, after some of the things he has said, I really do not care.
  11. No kidding. I had it 29-28 Hendo, but I could see it being 29-28 Franklin. 30-27 either way is ridiculous.
  12. Well played sir. And an excellent analysis.
  13. Chris Lytle vs. Marcus Davis: The Irish Hand Grenade by UD Jeremy Horn vs. Rousimar Palhares: Palhares by sub, 2nd round Denis Kang vs. Alan Belcher: Kang by TKO, 2nd round Shogun vs. Mark Coleman: Shogun by TKO, 1st round Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin: Hendo by UD
  14. As we talked about yesterday, Shogun looks like he is in great shape. I hope he mauls Coleman.
  15. That's the same thing I was thinking when I saw him. He is in the best shape he has been in in a long time. If he gets back on his game, the LHW division could get a whole lot more interesting. A lot of people have forgotten about Shogun.
  16. Coleman definitely deserved the victory. But how he was trying to hit him after the ref had stepped in and threw the ref out of the way rubbed me the wrong way. I vehemently second your Go Rua!
  17. He did look great, I was very impressed with him. I like Hamill, but this is big step up in competition. Did anyone see a countdown show for 93? I do not think Spike had one, but when I went home for the holidays, my parents cable (Cox) had one free on demand. it was short, probably about 15 minutes...probably what they will show prior to the PPV tomorrow. I think it was a mistake not to show one on Spike, because a lot of people probably do not know the full story about the bad blood between Coleman and Rua from Pride. I was getting a little fired up watching it, mostly because I think Coleman is a prick and he was certainly living up to that in the interviews. I think they could have generated a few more PPV buys by telling the people the back story and playing up the revenge factor...but whatever. But some of the stuff between Hendo and Franklin was priceless. Dan is always quick with a sarcastic comeback, and some of the responses to Rich's comments on how the fight was going to go were great.
  18. I am too...I think it is a very tough fight to call. I lean toward Hendo, but I thought the pros would be pretty close to 50/50. Either way, I think it is going to be a great fight. I am also looking forward to Rua hopefully dismantling Coleman and a war between Davis and Lytle. And I forgot about Kang's debut. A lot of people have dismissed this card as not being very good, but I think it has shaped up pretty damn well.
  19. I really wanted to go last night, but I just did not have the money. Which is pretty bad because tickets were cheap. I assume it was a good show? Their PPVs usually are.
  20. I agree. I like Rampage, but I think it was way too early for him to get back in the ring. His drug tests came back clean, so there was obviously something wrong with him on those two occasions and that does not go away without help. And I seriously doubt it had anything to do with energy drinks Dana. But what do I know, I thought it was too early to come back and I thought his performance might suffer...but I was wrong as my boy Wandy got KTFO.
  21. I saw a preview show for UFC 93 this past weekend, and they played up the old Pride angle quite well. I wanted to see the fight already, but it got me a little more fired up.
