2 weeks notice.
True, but he is also the same guy that says that he trains to always be ready for a fight. If you are at the top of a division and don't have a fight, you should be that way. As much as I love and respect Aldo...especially in that division.
I am pretty sure that Mendes was not sitting on the couch and watching Parks and Rec and eating Cheetos. He was in the gym, just in case. And just in case happened.

People keep talking **** about McGregor.
I never talked **** about McGregor; he is a great fighter. I just did not necessarily believe in him against the tip top of the division. I am impressed by him tonight, but some concerns still remain. I like him, and I am happy for him, but I still don't know if he beats Aldo. Or Edgar. Or Mendes on a full camp. I'd love to see those fights, and we probably will.

I just watched the obviously faster stronger fighter that has had wars in the UFC gas from being on top in round 2. Somethings off. Best case scenario, Chad didn't have time to get in fight shape and came in woefully unprepared.
I don't know about faster. Absolutely stronger.
Conor hit some huge body shots early, and apparently they took their toll.
I think you are looking into this too much, but we will have to disagree. Let's listen to some Bob Seger and hug it out.
-
He only had 3 weeks to prepare. Edgar and Jose both beat Connor.
Good point. And I honestly thought that Mendes was just as hard of a fight would have been as Edgar. I love Frankie, but Chad is a tough SOB, with an element that Conor has never seen.
Maybe Connor broke Chad's rib?
I would not be surprised. Those early body shots were nasty.

Yeah... something weird about that fight.
I don't think there was anything weird. Because if there was anything weird, that puts Alpha Male's integrity in question, and that is the last group of guys that I would question.
All Rogan can say is "Wow." This was the best card I've seen in a long time. Congrats to Conor. Kudos to Mendes.
Incredible care. That's all I can say.

Chad gassed. Jose Aldo wrecks him.
I can't believe Chad gassed. But he absolutely did.
-
He is the GOAT.
haha...I would not go that far Dana.
-
there is no reason for mendes to stand, Conor hasn't shown he can stop his takedowns
Not anymore in this fight...but the last few fights, Mendes seemed determined to prove that he had a good standup game.
-
Mendes stood still a lot more than I've ever seen him.... and he still beat Connor's ass in round one.
Something weird about this fight.
I don't know if there is anything weird...Mendes has been utilizing and improving his standup as time goes by
-
Taken down with ease.
True, but most guys at that weight are by Mendes
-
Alright fellas...here we go.

How is Drake not involved in any of these intros?
He is is probably blowing Dana's phone up...
Come on Dana...come on Dana
Dana White might pass out cageside.
That's what you get when you replace a tough fight with a fight that might be tougher. Style-wise at least.

all 3 judges had Rory winning 39-37
Wow...I am pretty surprised at that.
-
If Mendes wins man.........
L O L.
Would not surprise me one bit. He is a tough little ****.
-
i don't think he ever will fight to be honest
I guarantee you he will fight. It might not go well, but he will fight.
I think this is the same song that Aldo was going to come out to.
-
Oh...we are getting a little fancy with the entrances. That's not very UFCish. I am all for it.
-
Robbie is a bad mofo. Rory is one hell of a fighter though
Yeah, i don't like Rory, but I have to give it to him. He is a hell of a fighter, and fought a great fight tonight. He figured Robbie out for a little while, but just got his face broken.
-
that was a legit score, close rounds.
I wouldn't argue if someone had Lawler ahead before the stoppage
I agree. I think I had Robbie up a round, but I expected a split decision if it went to the cards. Happy it didn't.
-
Next up: Mendes-McGregor.
Rory-Lawler was the fight I cared about most. Now that Robbie won, the next one is gravy.

time for me to stop doubting Robbie Lawler
glad that one didn't go to the judges
It is absolutely amazing to see how Robbie has evolved, even from the EliteXC and Strikeforce days. He just keeps getting better, and guys don't typically do that after that many fights.

What a fight. Lawler!
-
I don't know about the first round, but I am fairly certain of who won the second.
-
Oh **** yea Robbie comin out to Sam & Dave!
Gotta admit, I have never heard a fighter come out to Sam & Dave. Mendes is going to come out to Soul Man now.
I still can't get over the fact that Robbie Lawler is a UFC champ in 2015. Hopefully he still is in about 25 minutes.
-
I don't like MacDonald, but I have to respect him coming out to Tool.
And then Robbie coming out to some old school "Hold on, I'm coming." Didn't see that coming. Haha.

I was just about to say the same thing. I actually cared about the TUF finale about five hours ago. Now it is the furthest thing from my mind. I have to decompress and wrap my mind around everything that happened tonight. And there is no way it can live up to this.
Can't disagree with anything here. I think it was more the body shots, but there may be an element of gassing as well. I initially thought it was an early stoppage, but it looked like Chad was done.
And Lawler-MacDonald...what a damn fight.
