  1. My all time favourite WC finals game. The quarter final epic between yourselves and Brazil in Mexico at the 1986 tournament.

Like the Dutch 70's side, it was a complete and utter travesty that early to mid '80's French team never won a WC. 'The Magic Square' is the finest International midfield, save for the Brazilian '70 side and the Spanish side of the last 6 years or so, ever assembled IMHO.

    Hail.

I do agree with you GHH, I was also a huge fan of the brazilian squad in Mexico, Ajax, and the Dutch team (Cruyff, Neeskens, Rep, Krol, Rensenbrink). It was a heartache to see them lose to the Germans. Then we lost to the Germans in Sevilla 1982, Schumacher bloody drugged b......!. Unfortunately we never had the chance (when we were on top) to play them for revenge during European championship or World Cup. I must confess that they'll be hard to beat in Brazil, they have young very talented players, we have mostly scums  .

  2. I think we'll be home first GHH, Brazilians want their revenge, because we've been tormenting them way too much during World Cups. This is the perfect place and time to kick us out.

Only question: what kind of trick will Blatter use to fix the draw ? Old techniques such as hot & cold balls, vibrations, or something new.

  3. FIFA Hacked: Fake World Cup Draws Released

FIFA confirmed Thursday morning that they have been the target of a hacked system, who had published on its website fake (ghosts)world cup groups and draws. The attacked confirmed on FIFA website by a telephone spokesman reads "We were attacked. However, the draw has not been made by FIFA, since the procedure of the lottery will be defined by December 3."
Following the implementation of the process, tests will be made by FIFA to prepare in detail the draw.

  4. Dez Bryant sideline sound

Goodell and his boys are ridiculous here, how about letting us hear what Witten and Ware shout at him on the sideline ?

Scariest players in NFL history Honorable mention: Tony Romo

Well, he's only scary for Cowboys fans when the game is in his hands. But that has to count, right? All right, time for the list of the six scariest players in NFL history. Without further ado ...

  5. Choker ! Romo couldn't get it done. Maybe it's even better for us, because this loss by 3 is going to haunt them and take will it's toll on their spirit before we will face them newt week.

  6. Madrid have said they want Suarez but can't afford both so it's dependent on Bale. If they don't land Bale they'll come in hard for Suarez.

But you keep telling folk what you (don't) know Joe.

    Hail.

I think it's a big mistake from Real to try to get Bale. First, as talented as he is, he lacks experience and in my book he is not worth a €145 millions price tag or €98 millions + Coentrao (according to Marca PSG is responsible for the €25 millions transfer fee raise :lol: ). Second, Gareth is playing on the left such as Ronaldo, that's two on the same side of offense.

  7. What's the highest tax rate in the UK? In Europe?

Who pays the income tax? Player or club?

Is AS Monaco exempt from taxes?

Players in France pay roughly 55% of income taxes, now the lousy socialists are forcing the clubs to pay a 75% tax on players salaries exceeding €1 million. The Ligue is trying to force Rybolovlev from Monaco to pay €200 millions because they're income tax free down there. Monaco always had this special tax status, in 2013 all of a sudden the Ligue is realizing it !!! What a joke.

  8. Top spenders

    1) AS Monaco (L1/FRA) 144 M€ (Falcao 60 M€, James Rodriguez 45 M€, Moutinho 25 M€, Toulalan 5 M€, Martial 5 M€, Isimat-Mirin 4 M€)

    2) Manchester City (D1/ANG) 118 M€ (Fernandinho 40 M€, Jovetic 30 M€, Negredo 28 M€, Jesus Navas 20 M€)

    3) PSG (L1/FRA) 110,9 M€ (Cavani 64,5 M€, Marquinhos 31,4 M€, Digne 15 M€)

    4) Real Madrid (D1/ESP) 74,5 M€ (Illarramendi 32 M€, Isco 30 M€, Carvajal 6,5 M€, Casemiro 6 M€)

    5) Barcelona (D1/ESP) 57 M€ (Neymar 57 M€)

    5) Bayern Munich (D1/ALL) 57 M€ (Götze 37 M€, Thiago Alcantara 20 M€)

    7) Borussia Dortmund (D1/ALL) 50 M€ (Mkhitaryan 27,5 M€, Aubameyang 13 M€, Sokratis 9,5 M€)

    8) AS Roma (D1/ITA) 49,89 M€ (Strootman 20 M€, Benatia 13,5 M€, Jedjav 5 M€, Destro 4,5 M€, Verre 2,5 M€, Caprari 2 M€,
    Piscitella 1,5 M€, Skorupski 890 000 €)

    9) Chelsea (D1/ANG) 31,4 M€ (Schürrle 22 M€, Van Ginkel 9,4 M€)

    10) Napoli (D1/ITA) 30,45 M€ (Mertens 9,7 M€, Callejon 9,5, Rafael 5 M€, Armero 4 M€, Calaio 1,25 M€, Radosevic 1 M€)

  9. Monaco targeting Abidal, Ronaldo, they're ready to pay a €100 millions transfer fee to Madrid with a €20 millions/year base salary.

PSG putting €100 millions on the table for Gareth Bale.

  10. Monaco is building a powerhouse with the signings of Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez, Radamel Falcao and Victor Valdés on their way. They are also targeting three players from Real Madrid: Ricardo Carvalho, Angel Di Maria and Fabio Coentrao. A russian godzillionaire and No Income Tax for foreigners are really helping :).

  11. Monaco and its russian godzillionaire targeting Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho, Victor Valdes, Carlos Tevez, Monachello (signed).

Breaking news: Ancelloti officially part ways with PSG, hello Madrid.

  12. Stupid question but is this the same Leonardo that fractured Tab Ramos' skull in the 94 World Cup?

Nevermind, IT IS the same Leonardo.

He just tried to do it on the ref in the tunnel leading to the locker rooms yesterday. (Granted Thiago Silva didn't deserve the red). ;)

  13. I think Arsene is a helluva manager. He's able to get the most out of an underwhelming group of players. Villas Boas with the best player, arguably, in the EPL this year may not finish ahead. When he's had world class players, he's had really good teams as well. His problem is that he's too principled both in player acquisition and on the pitch. He won't overspend, which is good but you miss out on talent as well.

Plus, Arsene's hayday coincided strongly with the peak of French football—he had an inside track to the top French Footballers, who also happened to be some of the best in the world at the time. Now he's got who? Giroud? Sagna? Even Nasri isn't a lock for Les Bleus. Now like everyone else, he goes to Spain and Germany for talent. He isn't even pulling much out of Francophone Africa these days.

If he's given talent, he'll win trophies.

But I wonder if he will leave. He built Arsenal for the future, new stadium, new high-tech training facility, etc.

He does have good knowledge about french players but Leonardo is running the show in Paris in terms of signings, that's why Ancelotti might leave (he was utterly pissed off when Leonardo brought in Van Der Wiel). Leonardo just proposed a €8.5 millions contract over 4 years to Edinson Cavani !

You mentioned that he doesn't overspend, true, I would say he was a bit cheap ;) . Here again a philosophy in total contradiction with the Leonardo/Qataris' way. I would rather see him coaching a german team.

Latest rumor is that he'll be in Paris next week to meet with the Qataris.

  14. Ancelotti supposed to leave PSG to sign with Real Madrid, Arsene to meet with the Qataris for the job. As much as I like the man it would be a big mistake, Arsene always failed to win a major european title.

  15. Barca's reign is over, granted the ref was out of his mind though. Never saw Bayern playing like that with an average of 85% wins, 2.83 goals/game and a 0.57 goal conceded !
