  1. I'm actually looking forward to part 3 two combat sport icons btw:
  2. That was a vicious finish. Hunt has a crazy good chin and a power bomb of a punch but JDS just has too much skill to overcome.
  3. I don't think that you have to pay anything for general pool access, just for the cabanas and for other poolside services. As long as you're a guest, you can go use the pool for free. There are bars and grills near the pool too. A dress shirt with nice jeans and dress shoes will get you into most places, but it just depends. Vegas is all about excess so there are places out there where they won't let guys in without dress pants on as well. If you throw on a blazer with the jeans/dress shirt/dress shoes I think you'll get into just about any place that you would want to.
  4. lol, my wife had hers there too, but I made sure to schedule mine a month after so I could top anything she did if need be :pfft:
  5. I'm pretty sure I left Vegas kicking and screaming not to leave.
  6. I've never seen a fight in Vegas but I did go to Vegas last year for my bachelor party and I also saw the UFC live when they were in DC earlier last year. Both were great experiences. We stayed in the MGM Grand when I was in Vegas too btw and I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I go back, I absolutely loved the MGM. Are you going with friends or with your wife/gf? Because what you do in Vegas really depends on who you're with and in Vegas you can pretty much do anything you want to do at any time of day or night. It's like a giant playground for adults. If you're into gaming, the MGM has a really nice casino. I would also highly recommend that you go to the Bellagio and the Venetian and check out their casinos, even if you're not into gaming, you should see them just for the spectacle of it. Also, Mandalay Bay and the Luxor are right around the corner from you, they aren't as prestigious as the other two that I mentioned but they are very, very nice and are on par with the MGM. All of them have amazing restaurants and places to get a drink (try every restaurant you can at MGM, they are all world-class, my favorite was their Mexican restaurant). There's also a food court for quick fast-food type of eating. If you're with a big group of friends, I'd have everyone chip in and rent out one of the cabanas at the pool at MGM and just hang out there and enjoy a nice hot Vegas day by the pool, putting down drinks and looking at all of the nice scenery walking around the pool. Definitely go down to old Vegas and check out Fremont Street and check out the Golden Nugget and some of the older places that Sinatra and mob used to go to in Vegas. I'm not a big gambler but I did play a lot of blackjack and roulette while in Vegas and had a great time doing it. Just go in knowing that you're doing it for fun and not to actually make a profit. Also when you check in to the MGM tell them it's your bachelor party or your anniversary and ask if you can get comps and they will most likely give you something all you have to do is ask. When we checked in one of my friends told the guy that it was my bachelor party (which it was) and asked if we could get any comps and the guy gave me an $80 food/beverage credit for my room and didn't ask any questions. As far as the UFC goes, it will be fun regardless. Like I said, I've never seen one in Vegas but this one is huge so I'm sure it will be amazing. If I were you I'd definitely go to the fan expo, they look like a lot of fun and I actually think most of the time they hold a grappling competition which is cool. Plus you could meet fighters/trainers. Also, I'm not sure if you have to get separate tickets but I'd look into going to the weigh-ins.
  7. I wonder what would be worse for him, losing the title or her saying no on live tv?
  8. Close fight but I had Melendez winning the first three rounds. The judges must've known that Bendo was going to propose.
  9. Not gonna lie, Miesha Tate looks banging in that bikini. I'm actually more interested in the Tate, Faber, and Hall fights this week more than I was in any of the fights last week.
  10. IMO, Shameless is the best show on tv now (it's on Showtime). Season three is just now winding down. I would highly recommend watching all three seasons to anyone looking for a good new show.
  11. A lot of refs do train (Josh Rosenthal, Herb Dean, John McCarthy, Mario Yamasaki) and it's no coincidence that the ones who do are usually the best refs. I think you should have to at least have some low-level training to be a ref or especially a judge. Also, bring back Pride rules that would fix everything. GSP would be a complete killer because he would be taking people down and finishing them with knees to the head when they go to turtle, the 10 minute first round would lead to guys having to pace themselves more and would give grapplers more time to work submissions, you could kick wrestlers in the face if they try to sit in your guard and not work, etc.
  12. I think you could make a case for either fighter but after re-watching I tend to lean toward Condit winning that fight. He beat Hendricks up on the feet and was way busier on the ground. I totally agree about judging favoring takedowns in MMA. But it's going to be like that until the commissions ditch the boxing judges and hire people that are knowledgeable in all facets of fighting/martial arts. If you take someone down but spend the whole time in their half-guard eating elbows from the bottom, dodging kimuras and sweeps, and getting regarded then the points you scored from that takedown should be nullified.
  13. GSP will pick him apart standing. Hendricks will literally throw 4-5 left hooks in a row, and that's about all he has to offer standing. And like you mentioned, GSP will be bigger and I think he can dominate Hendricks with his wrestling regardless of Hendricks' college credentials. GSP has beat other guys with similar wrestling backgrounds.
  14. I wouldn't dispute a decision for either guy but I don't think Hendricks took three rounds.
  15. No one will ever claim that Condit runs away from guys again.
  16. I've used firstrow on my Mac and had no trouble but who knows with a PC.
  17. These prelims are pretty damn good so far....I may have spoken too soon though, as Patrick Cote is up next.
  18. I'm almost there but I actually like Nick Diaz. He's kind of like a guilty pleasure lol.
  19. Just found it: Questions start around 9:05: ---------- Post added March-14th-2013 at 04:00 PM ---------- BTW, I like how Dana called out Ariel Helwani during the first question. Helwani comes across as a d-bag.
