  1. Yeah agree that Thompson and Reed are way more important. I think Doctson is more likely that guy in part because he's faster than Harris. But who knows. Hopefully Richardson is all right.
  2. Yeah on the radio they were making more hay about it then Jay seemed chilled about it later in his Q & A. If they go ball control offense, I think Richardson is a key guy this year -- he's the guy who can either keep defenses honest or he can likely go deep without having to worry about bracketed coverage where a safety is helping that often.
  3. Richardson didn't practice today and has some kind of shoulder injury. This is the position that is starting to look thin. Last year it was the injuries piling up on the O line and at RB -- this year WR is looming as potentially a similar problem. I am wondering about Brice Butler, I liked him in his short spurts in Dallas, don't know what happened though as for not making the squad in Arizona.
  4. Stroman will likely be returning punts according to Hoffman -- i think its a better choice than Quinn was. Stroman was a stud returner in college. Quinn didn't return that many kicks in college. I've been digesting, Chesson. 4th round pick a season ago from the Chiefs https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2018/09/05/former-chiefs-wr-jehu-chesson-signs-to-redskins-practice-squad/ Chesson was a 4th round draft pick by the Chiefs in 2017. He spent the entirety of the 2017 season on the Chiefs active roster. When he was active on gameday he mostly played special teams. During the regular season he only caught two passes for a total of 13 yards. The Chiefs only moved on from Chesson because they have such a logjam at the WR position with the addition of Sammy Watkins, a return to health by De’Anthony Thomas, and the quick development of second-year UDFA WR Marcus Kemp This is a smart move by Washington to bring in a guy that new quarterback Alex Smith has worked with in the past. Especially one that is only a year into his NFL career and still has some upside. Washington is not exactly flush with receiver talent, so bringing in a guy that has worked with Smith in the past, there’s a level of comfort there. If one of the go to guys in the WR group gets injured, he could be first in line for call ups. https://www.landof10.com/michigan/2017-nfl-draft-jehu-chesson-michigan-stats-bio 3. Chesson did a little bit of everything for Michigan Not only was Chesson one of Michigan’s top receivers throughout his time in Ann Arbor, he contributed in other ways as well. Chesson had 22 rush attempts as a Wolverines, accruing 220 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned six kicks, including one for a game-opening touchdown against Northwestern his junior year. And he made an impact in special teams coverage, with 17 career tackles. Chesson’s versatility should help him in the NFL, where he will likely be asked to help on special teams as a young player. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2017/04/29/2017-nfl-draft-chiefs-select-michigan-wr-jehu-chesson/ Chesson ran a 4.47 second 40-yard dash at this year’s NFL Combine and placed third among all wideouts in the 3-cone drill with a 6.70 second time. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein compares him to Brian Quick and writes:
  5. Sad to see Quinn out but i am jazzed to see Stroman return punts, he IMO was the guy that made the most sense to return punts from the get go -- he was great at it at VT. 6. Breer, asking NFL executives to rank the top QBs in the league -- we face many of them this season, one ranked D. Watson #1, wow. https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/09/03/khalil-mack-trade-aaron-donald-contract-monday-morning-quarterback

  8. I've been resisting and resisting fearful of the Marko Mitchell syndrome But I'll resist no more. https://tdalabamamag.com/2018/03/08/observations-from-alabamas-2018-pro-day/ CAM SIMS, WR Injuries prevented what could have been a 1,000-yard receiver, but Sims’ hands, speed and body control drew attention on Wednesday. He was clocked by most scouts between 4.52 seconds and 4.59 seconds in the 40-yard dash: a solid time for a target standing at 6-foot-5, 214 pounds. Sims, a Louisiana native, posted a 34″ vertical and 10’3″ broad jump. He caught every pass from ex-Tide quarterback Blake Sims during positional workouts, including a few receptions where he showed balance in keeping both feet in bounds.
  9. Been catching up with some Redskins radio segments Craig Hoffman really really loves M. Nicholson and Doctson. He really really thinks Perine is a bust and might not make the team. He's insistent that Bryon Marshall will make the team and Jay loves him. Probably meaningless but just mentioning it because Hoffman likes ti say he's chummy with the Redskins scouts and talks to them from time to time.
  10. Yeah Sheehan is fun when he shares a take but when he's on the other side he can be insufferable. I used to be a big Shanny fan and he would read my emails-tweets on air. Then, when I fell off the Shanny bandwagon, Sheehan didn't enjoy my emails so much. Yeah his confidence as to RBs is all about Clement from Wisconsin. He liked him, Cooley was dismissive of it -- the Eagles signed him and now Sheehan thinks he should be scouting RBs He's convinced Kerryon Johnson is the best back in the draft or at worst tied with Barkley. And while I don't mind him dismissing Cooley-Portis' take on Kerryon Johnson -- Sheehan sounds a bit hypocritical when he lionizes Cooley-Portis as really trusting their evaluation skills. Next time he should say he trusts them when they agree with him otherwise they are dead wrong.
  11. I agree. Portis has even a little Cooley in him with his film study. Whether he's right or wrong who knows but when Sheehan quizzed him on running backs, Portis could even cite specific games and specific plays off the top of his head. I've never loved Smoot on the radio, seems like a lot of hot takes and rambling. I still find it funny who Sheehan loved to tout Cooley and Portis' film study prowess but then when neither agreed with him that Kerryon Johnson is the be all and end all -- Sheehan discounted both takes.

  13. My sense, coming from outsiders, has been that Washington likes Guice, Penny and Nick Chubb as its top three options at running back. Whether it plays out that way remains to be seen. But running back is a priority and if they truly want to upgrade, it makes sense to target one in this round. http://www.espn.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/36162/todd-mcshay-mel-kiper-agree-vita-vea-makes-sense-for-redskins Dave Birkett‏ @davebirkett 10m10 minutes ago More Not only did the Lions have a private film session with LSU RB Derrius Guice https://on.freep.com/2q6LJVp but RBs coach David Walker helped run RB drills at pro day today Allen M.‏ @am_misfit 2h2 hours ago More @LedyardNFLDraft has Guice as his #3 overall prospect and #1 RB.

  15. Roseman gets Ajayi and Jernigan for a ham sandwich. Trades Bradford for a kings ransom. Swindles the Browns out of a franchise QB. Locks in his own guys for years to come. And we got potentially losing Kirk for at best a ham sandwich and would be left with the Browns discarded left overs at QB, Colt. A team that's below average just about everywhere. But heck Bruce will be watching more film this off season, so good things to come.
  16. If I still lived in the DMV I'd probably do the season ticket drill. Flying from Florida, I typically fly up to 2-3 games a season, sometimes I'll do one game on the road. And I've been doing it for a long time now. As for season ticket holders motivations, what you are saying makes all the sense in the world and sounds great and I can easily respect it. In my own way, I am the same, I am not in the camp of Bruce-Dan or whatever could steal my fandom. I keep coming back to games regardless of what they do. Having said that, I've read enough comments on different mediums, talk radio and have some family and friends who have been ticket holders to know that not everyone sees it the same way. I personally know multiple people who have given up their season tickets in part because of the FO. Chris Russell who claims to have a good source in the front office said months ago that he heard that they are struggling to sell some of their premium tickets-suite packages. And there is some concern. You got the TV ratings bordering at all time lows. I get the idea that the communal experience at the stadium transcends and trumps all else. But I gather you get enough people who see it differently that there might be some concern with the FO. Will see.
  17. I hope whomever is a ticket season holder and isn't happy with the status quo, go to town on this https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/football-insider/wp/2017/12/21/in-survey-redskins-ask-fans-for-their-level-of-confidence-in-teams-executives/?utm_term=.6b91f06eb1ee
  18. Next two games are the obvious tough ones. Dallas reeling from three loses in a row. I was checking around the Net and it looks based on what I've read, Sean Lee is unlikely to play. Puke fans have build this insane narrative that their whole defense rises and falls with Lee. Jerry Jones doing a motivational talk after Thursday's loss -- at the very least they will play desperate, all on the line. Chargers are hot of late and if Trent can't play and Moses isn't close to 100% -- SD pass rushers are monsters. Rivers is playing well. They get through these 2 games on the road, I like our chances a lot. Going through the schedules -- Atlanta and Seattle have a tough run of opponents. The one to maybe worry about is the Lions: they got three road games: Baltimore, Tampa, Cincy. And home games against the Bears and GB.
  19. I am well aware of it. I even listen to his Philly radio show from time to time. But usually local reporters aren't rabid-homer fans like that dude.
  20. That was Howard Eskin, same dude who said the Eagles were by a mile the best team in the NFC in 2016 after their hot start last season and said he can't see any team on the Eagles schedule who could beat them. Same guy who said its laughable that the Redskins would overtake the Eagles in 2015 and said the Redskins had no shot to beat the Eagles in that Saturday night game in 2015 in Philly. He has an ongoing love fest with the Eagles if they even sniff success and acts like the Redskins are the Cleveland Browns. It's been his act for years.
  21. Cooley isn't writing anything -- its just him spewing things on his radio show. My take on Cooley is he's around Redskins Park so he's exposed to gossip all day long. I don't think he ever makes anything up. But like most gossip -- some of it is dead on the money true, some is sort of true but embellished and some is wrong. But I don't think he's purposely trying to mislead anyone. For example, Cooley has given multiple examples of dysfunction with players in the secondary. Most of it was focused on Breeland, not Duke. John Keim kicked in saying he's heard for awhile about problems behind the scenes with Perry Fewell's unit. Maybe whatever gossip Cooley is being fed about it isn't 100% accurate -- but the idea that there are some behind the scenes issues doesn't seem far off.
  22. Cool interview I think from McConaughey talked about Kirk and this years Redskins http://www.richeisenshow.com/2016/12/16/academy-award-winning-actor-matthew-mcconaughey-talks-redskins-football-more-in-studio-121616/

  24. The kicker is Dallas is at home this Sunday before the Thanksgiving game. So they are at home and rested. I recall last year the quirk was they played so many teams coming off of the bye.
