Green was top 5 at his position for damn near 20 years. He was 1st Team All Pro in 1986, 1987, 1990, & 1991. By definition, that means he was top 2 at his position. He was a 7 time Pro Bowler. He was also a 1st ballot HoF. You don’t do any of that and not be considered the best at your position. TFOH

8 pitch inning? After working the count and elevating pitch count you decide to be aggressive the inning after your starter gave up a HR?

And really Bob Sendley? Zimmerman has ZERO chance of scoring there. It wasn’t going to take a perfect relay to get him. In fact, the RF (as he is wont to do) missed the cutoff guy and they STILL got him by 10 feet.

Max gave up the 2nd run, and was responsible for the 3rd. BP is a **** show, but Davey has a BIG hand in how they are being used. Matt Grace has no business being on the roster, and he made the team because he is a lefty and has a pulse. Rizzo should be on the phone trying to get a few relievers who are unsigned. Kimbrel, Ryan Madson, Bud Norris, AJ Ramos, Joaquin Benoit, and Jim Johnson are all available. And there are several MiLB available for call up as well...

Sipp HAS to be brought in to face Cano. It’s required. THAT is the reason he was signed. He comes in to face Cano, that inning plays out way differently. Davey is always a move behind and reacting to the game, versus dictating how the the game plays out.

The bullpen had been bad, no doubt. But what is getting overlooked is just how badly Davey is mismanaging it.

You have a lefty specialist hot and ready. You leave a righty in to face who has been their best hitter. Sipp in to face Conforto in a tie. Stupid.

Davey doesn’t EVER do anything.

Pitch 5 was a strike for Matz. Freaking ridiculous to reward a wild guy and squeeze a control guy. If it’s a strike, call it.

After years, I think it is fair to say that Mike Rizzo has no ****ing clue on how to build an effective bullpen.

And now the ump giving pitches to Eflin that the best pitcher in baseball didn’t get. Davey needs to get his ass out of the dugout and start holding umps accountable. Yell. Throw ****. Show some ****ing emotion. He manages with the enthusiasm of a DMV teller. And strike 3 is not called on Herrera, double. Davey stands there with his hands in his pocket looking dumb.
