  1. I am a huge Penix fan. But this is below pedestrian in terms of QB play. He does not look right to me. Could be the pressure. Could be anything. His passes have been off. His mechanics are bad. He looks wobbly. Usually, he is very accurate. They have played from behind a lot this year. Anyway, it is disappointing. Probably is going to slip into the 2nd round.
  2. Washington is usually not. They throw the ball a lot. Penix is usually accurate. His RB is hurt. He does not look 100%. Both D's have stepped up this half. And Michigan is effectively getting pressure and so are the Huskies.
  3. Yeah, I thought he was completely healthy. Something happened. Because he is not. He is definitely tumbling into the 2nd round.
  4. Me. I was. I was selling him as my #3. .Well he is playing like ****.
  5. He definitely was not expecting that question. Hey coach what were you thinking when you gave all your momentum to Washington? Thing is Washington has played from behind a lot this year. So, I guess he got a little tongue-tied.
  6. I have watched Penix a lot this year and he is playing like ****. That pass hardly redeems him.
  7. Solid points. The conference you play in, your competition is key IMO because it is a reflection of what you can do on the next level. It may not be everything but if you come out of such a competitive conference with those numbers and win the Heisman, it is not just a one-year wonder. And guys that want to play on the next level need to show improvement throughout their college playing years. I like Daniel's a great deal.
  8. Geez that organization with Tepper is the new clown show in the NFL. He is impatient, meddles in player decisions. It is like his little toy.
  9. Jayden Daniels is my first choice, followed by Williams, and then Penix. Daniels can add muscle to his frame to get stronger. I am sure Washington will add an excellent strength and conditioning coach, as they overhaul the organization. You know all of them can be busts in the NFL. There is so much to consider. We all know about Penix's injury history. After his extensive injury history, he moved into an excellent strength and conditioning regimen and added considerable muscle to his frame while with the Huskies. NO injuries in two years. That is important. And the reason he is 24 is because he has used all his eligibility allowance to get to where he is now. He was smart to return to school. The guy can make ALL the throws, is very athletic, but he chooses to stay in the pocket and throw downfield. But he has the wheels if he needs to use them. He has an excellent O line. If he shows out tonight, he will get picked up closer to the top 10 IMO. Who gives a damn if he is 24 if he can give us 10-11 years of excellent play and some Championships.
  10. He has had a lot of injuries, not just the ACL's. But he has not been injured in over 2 years. I think he will definitely go in the first if he turns out against Michigan the way he did against Texas. He is going to shoot up that board. He is a 1st round pick. We will not take him though. I agree with the majority of the posters that will either be Williams or Maye.
  11. He has not been injured in over 2 years. He has also put on 20 lbs. of muscle. His conditioning is night and day with Washington to what it was in Indiana when he had those injuries. He has an incredible arm, and he is accurate. He can make all the throws intermediate, and long. And he has the wheels to get out of trouble. I like him a lot. And if not him, Daniels. BUT with that said, I am pretty sure they will go Williams or Maye.
  12. The Pukes should be up 21-7. They are ridiculous. They should we wiping the floor with our practice squad starters.
  13. I want the Cowgirls to question themselves after today. Let them win by 3 points and sweat it to the end!
  14. Yes. And there is the offense of EB that we know and are depending on for this game.
  15. I am not 100% sure how he would do behind our line. But I think the further he gets away from those devastating injuries the stronger he seems to get. He is two years removed now from those injuries. He definitely has wheels. I saw that against Texas. He has the speed and explosiveness needed to create first downs with his legs and seems to have learned when to go down to avoid big hits. Obviously if he does well on Monday, he is going to shoot up the draft board. I can't see Washington beating Michigan, but it does not mean he will not play well.
  16. I have read a lot of information about Penix. He has not been injured in over 2 years at Washington. I think that is huge. There are no guarantees with any athlete entering the NFL, i.e. RG3 and Luck. But if you compare the Penix at Indiana, who was so injury prone, with the Penix at Washington it is the tale of two QB's. His conditioning at Washington was100% better. He added 15 lbs. of muscle to his physique and became much stronger. He showed an ability to stand in the pocket and deliver strikes. He has more touch on some of his throws, which was a knock on him when he played at Indiana. But if you watch highlights of this guy, he seems very poised, demonstrates an ability to sidestep pressure, and has a really good arm. And given what he has been through in his college career, he is mentally tough. I hope our new GM gives him a good look.
  17. Because Howell is on a cheap rookie contract as a 5th round draft pick that is #1. His salary is negligible in comparison to other players' salaries. If you have read the thread, which I assume you have, and watched a number of Washington's games, then you know there was little to no variation in play calling by EB. Howell was forced to throw 63%-64% of the time, and even when we ran the ball and it was working, EB never forced the D to stop, or create opportunities for a less contested downfield shot. Nope. He would just revert back to passing. That is incompetence at best. Even when our receivers were NOT getting separation and Howell forced the ball, EB kept passing. So naturally you wonder if we had a more competent OC with a more balanced approach, coupled with decent O line support, etc. how might Howell work out then. Clearly, we need a competent GM/HC to figure that out.
  18. I go back and forth and part of me says with a competent HC, OC, maybe even a QB coach, like Mahomes has, Sam could grow here. Plus, he is still on a rookie deal. The other side of me says he needs a change, a better setup, but somewhere else. Maybe with McVay, backing up a proven vet. But ultimately a coach that sees the potential we saw in the beginning of the season. I think some guys who have a tough year like Sam, have compensatory factors in their favor, such as mental toughness. There are just so many unknowns regarding Howell, due to the ridiculous, predictable play calling of EB. An unstable O line and the stuff we have talked about on here. But I have to admit at this juncture I am on the fence. And I trust that a new GM and HC will sort it out.
  19. I think the thing with Nix is that he is playing in an offense that is not asking him to do too much. It is not very complicated. I watched a bunch of highlights of his and it looked like a lot of screens and RPO's. But I thought he had very good arm strength and was able to drive the ball quite well over the middle, and on the outside. I don't know where he would go in this draft. Top of the second round? I honestly have no clue.
  20. He has been healthy the last two years at Washington. That has to be taken into consideration. I will be surprised if he is not picked mid first round. He has made every start. An undefeated season with 35 TD's and 4,000 passing yards. It shows maybe an alteration in conditioning, and maybe an adjustment in play style. I like this idea actually. I am surprised that I agree with you....lol!
  21. This is a solid point, but if the Pat's and Commander's do not play that game, I cannot see them letting a generational talent like Harrison Jr. go to trade further back. I just can't see it. Harrison, upgrades Field's. He is literally that special.
  22. Thanks. I did not consider that. Of course they would.
