No cant miss OT will be available at 16. With that said, no cant miss player of any position will be available at 16.

Rivera generally doesn't draft DB early and his track record with that position in the middle rounds has been pretty good.

Okay but we need guys better than we have right now? We can agree on that.  I was talking to a buddy of mine about this yesterday, and he thinks Tyler Steen OR Jaelyn Duncan, might be available, and would be excellent for us.

  2.  If there is a can't-miss OT, take him at 16.  We saw time and time again the difference in the Oline when we had Trent Williams, Chris Samuels, and Brandon Scherff (who they thought would play RT when they drafted him but was all-pro RG). We can't get them by trade, and we can't keep them, so we must get them in the draft. CBs are easier to get, especially in this draft.  Bottom line, if you we want to fix the Oline, and we all agree it starts in the trenches when fixing a team, I just don't think we can or should ignore an elite lineman, if they fall to us in the draft.  Hopefully with a new owner and better coaches, we can keep our elite olinemen.

  3. Not that I trust the media's take on the QB market, but the rumor is that the Patriot's might be moving on from Mac Jones. If so, I think he would be a very good QB, plus create solid competition for Howell, and there is 2 years left on his contract, for a grand total of only $4 million. On top of that, the players in New England really like him.  I am tired of this team picking up QB's that other teams have given up on, for whatever reason, that are too old, and cost a lot of money to get.

Hearing what we’re hearing and the overall possible scenario that we have Rivera and staff for another season, it looks like it’s becoming clear the way this is going to shake out.

    The staff stays. Including Turner.

Heinicke is brought back to compete with Howell for the QB spot unless we have a guy fall in our lap that a lack of ownership can still pull off.

Shore up the OL and see what happens.

After listening to that press conference with Mayhew and Rivera, I realized the whole gang is coming back. Just so many excuses for the gameplans, the calls, etc. Everything from we are a run team first. That is how we are successful, etc.

  5. My question is, what is the payout to Turner to release him from his contract? With Snyder moving on, and a change coming, would anything even happen until March?  Enjoyed watching Sam Howell. I hope they roll with him next year and bring in an inexpensive vet as the backup.  His ball placement yesterday on some of those long passes was excellent. Can you imagine if he has time to develop chemistry with Terry and Johan?

  6. I still think Rivera will stick with some line sort of line like this - TH gives us the best opportunity to end the season on a winning note.  I agree with the thought that IF he were to start Howell and Howell played well, Rivera would place himself in a position to have to answer a lot more questions about this capacity to evaluate QB talent.  He is not going to do that.
