  1. I was listening to a draft podcast and they had some draft analysts on to give their take on some of the top OT Here’s what the analysts thought:

    Guy #1:

Darrisaw (comp to Trent Williams, started as a freshmen, played hurt with foot/ankle during freshmen year showing toughness, very good run blocker in VT zone with athleticism to be great pass blocker)

Eichenberg (very technically sound, very solid player but may struggle against speed rushers)

Penei Sewell (Physical freak, great upside, bad footwork, doesn’t agree with the hype based on the film)

Slater and AVT evaluated as Guards

    Guy #2

    Penei Sewell

    Slater

    Eichenberg

Darrisaw (motor hot and cold, questioned toughness, got worked  during Liberty game by inferior players)

JOK has insane closing speed and is an elite hammer. That guys amazing and is 1B with Parsons for talent.

I think Collins is the opposite type of backer and while not exactly aggressive, he's super smooth and makes being huge look easy.

Collins I think is going to have the better career overall, while JOK makes a major impact day one.

I think you’re right. While I personally like Collins better and think he has more upside because of his natural size, JOK might be a perfect fit and immediately start at Nickel. He could stay there or eventually take over at WLB.

Think Keim mentioned Ron would like a vertical TE Threat and a Blocking TE to supplement Logan Thomas

You have to think we aren’t gonna spend either draft capital or cap space on two TE’s, Thaddeus has a big opportunity to fill that Blocking TE role, BIG

Kyle Rudolph? Good blocker with some skill, maybe a few years left?

No such thing with Jonnu off the board and Henry traveling around

I want Henry but I doubt it happens now. He’s going to get a fortune. We are probably targeting Gerald Everett, who is cheaper and would be a nice complement /move TE for us.

So if they locked him down long term for 15-16 annually for the next 5 years you’d be ok with it but one year 18 mill tag is just ridiculous?  They should just let him walk and hope there’s a rookie in the draft or guy in free agency that could come right in & mesh with the rest of the OL & play at that high of a level? Cmon.

List of ideal outcomes in order:

    1. Sign Scherrf to 4-5 year deal for 14 mil a year spreading out guaranteed money so his cap hit is more like 10 mil a year. (good)

    2. If he won’t sign for that, let him go (ok)

    3. Sign him for 18 mil for 1 year, costing 18 mil on the cap and then lose him to FA (very bad)

First team All-Pro Guard* Sure, you’d rather lock him down long term for less annually.  However, if he’s not gonna sign then get one more year of his services+ and then let him walk like Cousins.

*when he’s on the field. he’s had injuries consistently throughout his career.

+while paying him 4 million dollars more than the next highest paid guard on an absurd contract.

He would be a moron to sign any long term deal for less than 18 in first year and at least 30 plus guaranteed.

We should have offered 15 mil a year and let him go to FA if he wouldn’t take a deal that made him the highest paid G. This is insane.

Obviously hoping for a LTD before July but it’s just wishful thinking. Can we rescind the tag or can he just sign it and screw us over?

Probably not. Part of the reason was that they knew RG3 would only have a career if he was a drop back passer.  He knew he would either be successful as a drop back guy or out of the league otherwise.

That story came directly from Mike Shanahan in an interview on the radio a few years ago. He said they wanted to bring him along slower, but RG3 wouldn’t accept that. Now, Mike is also a liar, but I do believe this story.

(Kind of like we did with RGIII trying to make him a pocket passer). He'll be much more successful if we build an offense around his skillset.

I would argue Kyle built a great offense around his skill set. As I recall, the problem was the injury and then RG3 and his father went to Dan and demanded they have him be a drop back QB because running him and the risk of injury was “unacceptable.”

If he just makes it to 9, then that puts him in play for us.  9 isn't crazy.

Great video on Fields. Bottom line: he improved reading defenses and going through progressions faster than last year.

  11. The more I see and read about Trey Lance the less I like the idea of any sort of trade up. He just seems so risky and based so much on a projection. He’s played so little football, and the games he did play he didn’t pass all that much. The tools are phenomenal, and he seems like he’s a really hard worker, and he’s so young. But it just scares the hell out of me. One first rounder at 19? Sure, take a shot. But multiple picks to trade up into the top 10, when he really needs to sit initially, I’m just not on board.

Anyone know who was pounding the table for Josh Doctson and Sua Cravens?  I'm trying to remember and can't.  Could it have been all McCloughan, or was it consensus or what?

Sua had great tape at USC. Joe Barry recruited him when he coached there, and so he vouched for his character. Too bad Joe Barry is a ****ing moron, and didn’t find out from his sources at USC that he walked away from the team and quit. Then guess what he did here lol.

Sean McVay was apparently really high on Doctson, and McC panicked and took him after trading down when Ryan Kelly (the player they desperately wanted, which they did a really poor job of keeping quiet) was snatched up by the Colts.

I'd like to see that QB room shake out, and if we get lucky and someone really good who we can get without spending 3 firsts on is available next year, then Trask can be a back up option given he was cheap to get.

I think taking a QB every other year isn’t a bad idea when you don’t have a lot of clarity there. We need to sign a FA and/or draft someone this year. I bet we add 2 QBs and end up with something like (Allen, Heineke, mid round pick, Mariotta). Montez is likely cut or PS.

The question is, where do you think Trask goes and is he worth it? I think he ends up going between the 2nd and 3rd round. I suspect he’s gone before our 2nd third round pick. It will be interesting to see how the team evaluates QBs. I would think they would prefer a QB with more running ability.

Welp, Jason Wright, Dan Snyder Lackey. What a spiteful hateful little troll...

    image.png.2b6f5d85a1e061686b9f547901ecbfd3.png

I’m all about criticizing Dan Snyder, who is awful, and the stuff with the cheerleaders was abhorrent (and possibly criminal) but this is a flat out ridiculous take. Pausing all aspects of game day entertainment, transforming the fan experience, rebrand etc. IS happening. Whoever recently was hired should decide whether to have cheerleaders, a band, pregame stuff, music, etc.  based on trends and fan interest and that’s totally logical and clearly would have happened regardless of the lawsuit.

Jason Wright doesn’t have to answer your question by eviscerating the team and his boss’ misconduct (that’s why they paid a settlement, so they don’t have to talk about it publicly). He can choose not to answer. Get the **** over it.

Heinicke/Allen is the stopgap, IMO.  If you bring in a guy like Mariota, that's not much better.   I bet either one of those guys could produce what Mariota can produce...if we get Mariota it doesn't really make us that much better.

Stopgap isn't the answer, we've got two guys that are already stopgap material. We need someone legit.

I would agree but if you can get Mariotta for cheap (5th?) that’s improving your chances that between one of the 3 in a competition you might get slightly above average QB play.

I would like to do better but we may not be able to trade up in the draft and a better option may not be available.

I don't think 2 6th rounders is going to do it.

I don’t really think Mariotta is going to take even that much. Maybe a 4th? A player? He’s a failed starter who showed some promise as a backup and he’s young. I guess if another team thinks he’s going to be their starter he could get something like a 2nd. I just think that’s nuts. My price would be a 4th or maybe some player combo or swap.
