I think Alex Smith with less mobility is a comp for BrissettIts a good comp in overall effectiveness but different styles.
Alex was mechanically/mentally an amazing QB. He would scan the entire field very quickly and go through his entire progression of reads. Obviously the big problem was he would scan the field too much and hold the ball waaay too long at times taking the easy throw instead of pushing the ball downfield.
Brissett is a one-read QB with a cannon arm. He gets away with that style in the pros because his throws have so much juice that opposing defenders have no chance of making a play even if they know exactly where he's going with the ball.
If Bieniemy is on his game then our offense can hum with Brissett at QB. The ball just needs to get out of his hands and let our playmakers do their thing. If the opposing D-Coordinator can take away that first read then it'll be a problem because Brissett will just rip off inaccurate throws or take sacks in the pocket. (assuming Brissett is the starter)

Think I have very mixed feelings about signing JB. Prob the best back up qb there was available to get! Problem is. If it’s a true qb competition. Than jocoby wins by experience alone. And Sam how never gets a chance to really show what he can do. It’s a shame this team always settles for mediocrity and never takes a chance on potential.
Pretty unlikely Brissett starts a full 17 game season.
Howell will get chances to play even if he's not the starter week 1.

Carr's cap hit this year is only $7mil:
2023: $7.2 mil
2024: $35.7 mil
2025: $45.7 mil
2026: $55.7 mil
2027: $5.7 mil
Salary cap is essentially meaningless.... though Saints will eventually pay for it down the line.

Wasn't that a freak accident where the blank accidently fired somehow?

Natalie Portman was only 12 in The Professional and her parents required gun safety training and a gun expert on set at all times.
She knew how to assemble/disassemble the guns like her character and how to check for live rounds vs blanks.
They filmed this right after Brandon Lee was killed on the set of The Crow.

This dude does a good breakdown of Howell's plays against Dallas:

Hear me out, hear me out. Heinicke stays on next year, as our new OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
Stranger things have happened.
Our maybe QB coach.
Zampese has a ton of experience. Maybe give him a shot at offensive coordinator?

Also clearly holding on that play too btw.
Even if its slight, Terry could easily take that to the house.

Replay showed his arm was held
I agree. He held him.
Dotson catches that otherwise for sure.

Patterson on kickoff returns is a thumbs up.

I'll immediately play devil's advocate on Slye even though he's got the severe shanks today. He's had a money year for us kicking FGs and also was integral to our biggest win of the season against PHI. We're playing for draft position afterall. He's also one of the best in the league in touchback % on kickoffs.
He does miss more extra points then usual though. The stat-sheet definitely confirms this. Maybe something about his kicking style.

I know he’s not our biggest problem but anytime I see 51 on the field I involuntarily shudder
We went into the season so thin at linebacker.
Losing Holcomb was such a problem for this roster.

Announcers clowning JDR on that 3rd and 10 prevent D.
BOOOOOOO on Del Rio.

Really like that 3rd down throw from Howell to Thomas.
Near the area where you can go for 4th downs and took whatever yards he could get. Thomas could've easily broken that for more yards in the open field too.
Field position-wise we should've gone for it on 4th down considering a punt didn't net us anything. (also hindsight after watching 2 Dallas firstdowns)

Fading backwards, throws into triple coverage in the back of the redzone.
Shake that one off rookie.

We should just sign Geno Smith/Bridewater/Brissett and gamble on Hooker from Tenn in the draft. (Geno might cost too much and will probably resign with Seattle anyway) At this point I'd take Minshew or Mayfield too. Mike White?
I'm 100% behind doing anything you can at QB so I won't hate trading for Carr or trading up in the draft but I see those as unlikely considering our current FO situation.
If I made a prediction, I'd personally say Carr busts here but based solely on our own franchise history.

I don't mind signing veterans but agree with the first part of the point below until you find that guy keep swinging
The Howie Roseman strategy, who tried everything, trades, FAs, draft picks, keep swinging. Don't lament each swing, expect misses but don't double down on a miss, swing again
Absolutely.
We drafted Cousins in the same year as RG3.
On paper that was 3 firsts, a second and a fourth all spent on QBs in 1 draft.

Can't believe the ref didn't tell Terry where the LOS was.... then no call on the obvious PI.

We paid Wentz $28mil last season.
By the time the Eagles have to pay Hurts the salary cap will be significantly larger and they can just restructure his contract kicking the can further down the road.
