There is a lot of negative pub surrounding CW. Its only going to get more intense leading up to the draft. How will he handle the pressure if taken first overall? Going to really be interesting to see what the Bears do at 1. Supposed comments regarding not wanting to play in Chicago. Still waiting to declare. Little too much drama for my liking. Kinda hoping that he goes #1 to the Bears or to whoever trades up. Go with Maye (or Daniels if thats who Peters & co. prefers). Obviously I know nothing other than what I read/see but the vibe surrounding CW is not good.

Your buddy could be correct as it relates to other teams where the previous GM wasn't Ron Rivera. Peters' first draft will most definitely be THIS year.

One would have to think that this hire will absolutely help fill any and ALL other openings we have. At this moment, what coach or FO staff wouldn't want to be a part of this? The most sought after GM candidate came here. We have big draft and Cap capital. We have a quality new owner. There is a lot of excitement about the rebuild and future. I say we have become the first choice for most if not all potential hires.

Such a huge hire... So happy not just because we hired Peters who I wanted and by all accounts was one of if not the best available but happy because this franchise is doing it the right way for the first time in decades. Thank you Lord.

Exactly. FWIW (not much but...) Ive been reading more over on a 49er forum. Some of their fans are not happy to be losing Peters if it happens. Others are in denial about what impact Peters actually had on drafts. A seemingly knowledgeable person chimed in suggesting that Peters was very involved in mid to late round picks. Basically Shanny and Lynch went with Peters on those picks while they focused more on the top picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds. The Lance selection was likely at the very least not all on Peters.

agree. Its the QB which aren't easy to find. But in the long run if a GM has confidence in their abilities and/or really like Williams and Maye then Washington has to be at the top.

I kind of think that goes both ways. Washington is a desirable job... Both should be doing due diligence and looking at all options. That takes a few days. If its meant to be and a fit then great. Peters is who Im hoping for.

Grant & Danny ranking jobs. I agree with them. 1. Chargers 2. Us 3. Falcons 4. 5. 6. 7. LV 8. Carolina Its close for me at #1... we have #2 pick but Herbert is a bird in hand. We are in much better shape with the cap. They have some aging stars. Not much of a fan base but have a nice stadium.
