@Spaceman Spiff is our resident rower.

Don't **** around, get a Concept2.  It's what any good high school, or collegiate rowing program trains on.  It's what USRowing uses, too.  They are the gold standard.  It's what they test world records on.

Back in college I got one.  There was an indoor rowing competition over in Alexandria, I think.  They get these brand new Concept2s and have them out for race day and at the end of the day you can purchase one. Being a broke ass college student, mom hooked it up, I can't remember what the deal was but it was REALLY good.  I put well over a million meters on it, probably closer to 2 million.  I pulled a few marathons on it and it took a beating but it's still in fantastic shape.  They are very durable machines and require hardly and maintenance (just some oil on the chain every so often).

The only problem with it is, if you really row hard on it, the fan can make a lot of noise.  Not bad if you're in your basement or in a garage, not ideal for apartment living.  So when I moved into an apartment and didn't want to piss off my neighbors, I got a WaterRower.  Nice and quiet, good for being in an apartment, but not nearly the same experience as a Concept2.  Being shortsighted, I sold that Concept2 to a buddy of mine who I rowed with in college and now it collects dust in his basement.

Bad move on my part.  Now that I'm living in a house, I want a Concept2, bad.  I'm on the waitlist for a Model D, which is way nicer than what I had, also way quieter.  I'm not sure what NordicTrack has to offer, but as I'm looking at their site it looks like they've got a big screen with classes and all the other accoutrements that have popped up post Peleton, which, if you've never done any rowing, might be good.  Concept 2 doesn't have that but you get access to their online challenges and community which is massive.  The computer might not have a big screen on it with a teacher, but it's still fantastic, you'll get a log card that'll track your meters and workouts.  Pretty sure they have an app that'll connect automatically and upload that information for you, too and I think you might be able to hook an iPad up to the Concept2 model D.

Ultimately, here's how I see it:  NordicTrack does a lot of things and they do them well.  They've been around forever, they obviously make good equipment and you probably can't go wrong with their erg, especially if you want the at home class experience.  But there's a reason the gold standard of ergs is the Concept2.

I have to ask...do we have any indication that these fools thought that they were going to overtake and occupy the Capitol? Hold hostages? To me it seemed more like a bunch of idiots who got in there and then didn't really have any idea what to do.

I'm not defending anyone...just saying that I think the collective "we" are taking a lot of liberties and assigning some pretty serious motives to what the plan was.

I think some got caught up in the moment and decided to march in there and make asses out of themselves.  But I think quite a few of them, like zip tie guy, knew exactly what they were there to do.

I read somewhere where RR really values QB's who can run....To me that would be Heinicke, Allen and who else that's available? Is there one of these in the draft?

When you put QB's out there and ask them to run some then you are asking for them to get hurt at some point...(Dak Prescott, Wentz, Kyle Allen, Heinicke)....knowing this, you'll need to have plans B and C ready....maybe even plan D. It's gonna be really interesting to see what direction RR goes in.....I just pray that Alex retires so he can stay healthy.

Yeah, that would be Heinicke and Allen.  I'm not sure about Montez, but I think they like him...they liked him enough to dress him in the playoff game and sit Alex.  So maybe Montez is a guy for us here moving forward, too.

No problem, I'm not offended by your opinion and I appreciate your thoughts. I don't want Cam Newton here, I'd take Fitzmagic over him all day long. However, coupled with Adam Schefters report and based on what I read and see, I believe RR is going to at least have serious discussions about bringing Cam in here as insurance. RR had a very tough year at the QB position and I'm sure he's gonna do everything he can to make sure this year doesn't repeat itself. Getting rid of Dwayne makes sure of that. I'm simply saying, don't underestimate the history RR has with Cam, how inexpensive he will be and the things he could still offer to this team. If the staff really wants to give Heinicke and Allen a shot then a veteran QB as insurance makes sense, especially one that won't cost draft picks and won't break the bank. Realistically, I don't think Cam comes here as a backup, but if he's willing to do that, especially being told that he'd have a role as a wildcat QB in the redzone, I can absolutely see it happening whether any of us like it or not. We will find out soon enough....

By the way, the Patriots staff, particularly Josh McDaniels the OC,  is on record as calling Cam a true professional and one of the hardest workers on the team. This kind of stuff is what RR is all about.

I am not advocating we get Cam, but I am trying to be reasonable about what RR may do and how he could justify bringing Newton here as far as what positives he would bring. Rolling with Heinicke and Allen would be risky just based on both of their injury histories and RR can't roll a 4th QB out there for the playoffs again. He needs someone more durable who knows the league....Cam would be an insurance policy.

Cam can't really be an insurance policy given his injury history, too.

As much as I understand and respect their relationship, it just doesn't make sense.  Cam's best days are behind him, we need a QB with some upside.  Allen and Heinicke are those guys.  Smith, as much as I love him and respect him, is not.  I hope he rides off into the sunset with his head held high.

I think the only upside in regards to Cam is that he'd come cheap.  And maybe you catch some former glory lightning in a bottle for a year, but that's not a long term plan.

Fitzmagic is slightly more appealing because he can turn in some amazing games, he can also turn in some real ****ty ones, too.  At least he's relatively healthy, IIRC.  If you're going to get a 3rd QB in addition to Allen and Heinicke, both who seem to have durability issues and injury histories, the 3rd guy better be solid.

If you're like me and wanted more details on the whole "live in girlfriend to a married couple" situation, save your time, it's not worth the read.

I will say, it's sad that people lost a loved one, but it was incredibly clear how much of a wingnut this woman was.  Anyone who flies a Q flag is bound to have some issues and that's among the more mundane things that she did.

Lauren Boebert is a dumbass, but I also don't feel sorry for anyone who gripes that "omg, the dumbass I wrote a scathing article about" blocked me!  after all I am a STATEWIDE POLITICAL COLUMNIST and now I need to write another article recapping everything!"

And I hope Boebert keeps spouting off, she needs to keep further exposing herself as to how bad she is.
