  1. Do that Sith. It should be a good time. My big thing about going to Wrestling events is that unless your in the front row or at a small venue, you'd be better off watching on TV. In the front row you'd catch everything. Good luck on getting those seats.
  2. I can understand why people calling The Dudleys, (eff that Team 3D mess) overrated, but they are one of the most decorated tag teams. On top of that, if there was some sort of Fantasy Tag Team Tourney, I would have no problem with putting them in there (along with America's Most Wanted). The Dudleys may not have accomplished as much on a worldwide scale as the Road Warriors, but I put them in that same grouping as one of the better tag teams in Pro wrestling. As for some of my all time fave tag teams. Road Warriors Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard The Twin Towers (Sid Vicious and Mean Mark Kallous[The Taker]) Harlem Heat The Steiners The British Bulldogs The Rock and Roll Express Tito Santana and Rick Martel The Hart Foundation The (Midnight) Rockers Rock and Sock Connection LOL Demolition The Dudleyz The Christopher Street Connection America's Most Wanted EDIT # 2 Forgot about Homicide and Low Ki. And yeah, Orton being out an extra 3 months is no big loss. I just wonder how they will work his heel angle with JBL sucking up a good amount of the heat from the crowds.
  3. Right, it had that feel as if the inmates were running the asylum. The GM system was actually pretty good when they had guys like Regal or Theodore Long but now it's just a pain. It was cool when they made it seem as if they were just making up the show as it went along.
  4. Former kicker for the Chicago Bears, sportcaster in that area and former host of the old American Gladiators. As for this "heat" that he has, it's only because McMahon had him come out to replace JR or join them in calling a few matches. Playing the role of McMahon's ordained announcer. I still don't like the GM move. I think the show was doing just fine without a GM.
  5. Mike Adamle...okay. The guy hasn't been with the company long enough to generate any heat. I think the decision to give RAW a GM will backfire. And JR was back on RAW simply for misdirection?
  6. I'm thinking about making that tip. It all depends on how the rest of the week is for me.
  7. Just read the write up. It seems like the Cena/JBL match was the best of the night. And the Punk/Batista match was a washout. I think I really like they way they are building to this heel turn. EDIT: I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE EEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEE!
  8. Spontaneous Chair throwing I. I remember that. Awesome match. The one in Ring of Honor a few years ago was pretty cool too.
  9. I foresee a Punk heel turn after the Bash. The exchange between Batista and Punk all but points to it. I hope I'm right about this one.
  10. It's not just you. I think the lack of McMahon screentime has been the reason for this. I hope that they aren't written back into the storyline in the next couple of weeks, it's actually starting to get good.
  11. I really do miss the old heel Jericho. He's trying to do the calculating, psychotic heel now and it's just not as entertaining. The only person that was able to pull that off was Jake the Snake.
  12. I feel old now. Damn I miss Monday Nitro. In those two hours you had a nice mix of wrestling. In the first hour you almost always got a great opener, a mix of indie/lucha and the mid card guys. In the second hour you got all of the good up and coming performers and headliners towards the end of the show. The only thing that got old with Nitro was the NWO obligatory run-in to kill the main event.
  13. I get where you're coming from. His push and eventual rise to this championship is well... forced. Normally this would get me upset but after seeing how Vince forced Randy Orton down our gullets, i figured that it couldn't hurt if Punk got a "Complimentary" title reign.
  14. No doubt. I thought they were going to give the title to JBL last night. While I'm a huge fan of Punk, I think that he should have at least had a decent run with the IC title before throwing the World title belt on him.
  15. Wikipedia or Obsessed with Wrestling is your friend. CM stands for Chick Magnet Punk (He was apart of a tag team back in the day known as the Chick Magnets). Yes it's a very silly name from an old gimmick of his but he was known by the name at that point and has decided to stick with it. As for why he's so popular, he brings that something special that was in the independant feds for quite some time. "He has zero physique", I don't really look at wrestling for all that junk. That's part of why Vince's product is as horrible as it is now. Having a great physique does not make you a great wrestler, any long time viewer of Scott Steiner can attest to that. Punk is a techinically sound performer (Look for a copy or vid of one of the two hour long matches he's put on with Samoa Joe from Ring of Honor) in the ring and while he has not been able to show much of it yet in the "E", he has a great personality that comes through when he's a heel (which is something else that we have yet to see in the E).
  16. I'm very happy to see Punk as World Champ. I wasn't too happy with the way they tried to make it seem as if he weaseled his way into the title but it's a title reign for Punk in a major fed nontheless. Punk doesn't have a good way of getting people(the crowd) pumped for the Go To Sleep. He doesn't even do it the way KENTA originally did the move so it looks like a very weak finisher. I would be all for seeing him break out the Pepsi Plunge but that's not going to happen in the same fed as HHH.
  17. I was about to reply with the same remark. ECW was all about putting the strap on guys that really wouldn't have had it anywhere else. Mikey Whipwreck, while he has turned out to be a great wrestling trainer, but there was no way in hell that he would have had a belt in any of the major feds back in the day.
  18. I can't resist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAMl3evcs-Y
  19. Hmm. Nice touch breaking kayfabe and calling Trips, Paul.
  20. WTF is with this work? I guess another angle where he dies? Anything for ratings I guess.
  21. This is the first time I've watched RAW "live" all the way through for a long time. Pretty good show tonight. ECW is looking like the proverbial red headed step child so far, as far as the draft is concerned.
  22. Didn't know that there were that many AWA fans around here. I've been watching for a couple of weeks now. I get a kick out of seeing early 80s Scott Hall and a chubby, charisma-less Shawn Michaels.
  23. That looks like one of those presidential aging cycles.
  24. I don't normally buy wrestling DVD sets the day of release but this one will be a Day 1 purchase for me.
