Those are a handful of teams...16 teams make the playoffs every year. Other than Brady, Big Ben, Rodgers, Wilson, and Mahome, there hasn't been many QB's recently who have been to the playoffs/SB year in and out. Heck as I said earlier, Brady has been to 10 SB's and won 6 of em. I'm in the game manager camp until you can draft an elite QB without mortgaging the future. Everyone want's a franchise QB, but elite/franchise QB's are RARE. It's like winning the lottery.

I don't think you're being fair and you're minimizing defenses and variance. You left out, Foles, Flacco, and Brad Johnson who all won a SB relatively recently. Also, Eli Manning a .500 QB, who led the league with INT's 3 times, won 2 SB's relatively recently. I wouldn't put in him as an all time great. Brady has won 6 SB's and been to 10, how many Brady like QB's are in the league?

That's not what I'm saying...Go back an read my previous comments, it's when you start trading 2 FULL first round picks (no swaps) is when the ROI is worse than gambling. The odds are terrible. I think history backs this up. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiygqj1hNPuAhVOFVkFHRUeAzIQFjABegQIAxAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fblog%2Fnflnation%2Fpost%2F_%2Fid%2F280540%2Fthe-nfl-players-traded-for-two-first-round-picks-mack-joins-list&usg=AOvVaw0zykof3QArOJX-7uAy3L99&cshid=1612538267414613 This is why I'm glad we didn't trade for Stafford and hope we don't trade a farm for Watson.

One 1st rd pick was a pick swap for Mahomes, Julio Jones included a swapped 1st rounder as well. I’m talking about two FULL first rounders, no swaps, like Jay Cutler, Hershel Walker,Jeff George, etc. Most of those trades have not worked out. With the price of QB’s today, in order to move up we would probably have to swap a 1st AND give up two future 1st rounders.

Jones was a 1st round pick swap in 2011, along with their 2012 1st (so technically it wasn’t two first round picks): The Atlanta Falcons selected Jones with the sixth overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft. Atlanta traded five draft picks to the Cleveland Browns to move up into their spot and take Jones, giving up their 27th, 59th, and 124thpicks from the 2011 Draft, and their first and fourth round picks from the 2012 Draft.[80] He was the second wide receiver to be taken in the 2011 NFL Draft, behind only A. J. Green of the Georgia Bulldogs, who was selected fourth overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. In addition, he was one of five Alabama Crimson Tide players to be selected that year.[81] Jones wears #11 with the Falcons.[82] source: Wiki

Most players in NFL history that were traded for at least two 1st round picks were a bust. Someone posted an article a few days back with the names in this thread. It's such a waste. Heck, LA used 8 picks to obtain the #1 pick to get Goff and then to trade him away (Thee 1sts, two 2nd rounders, and three 3rd rounders). Jay Culter was traded for two 1st round picks and 3rd. 😂

I think its fair to say no one is off the table, but if Houston is going to be drunk and want Chase, two 1st, and perhaps another later 1st day pick, it's a no. What you forgot to leave out is, if just had competent QB play this year we would have won AT LEAST 10 games. Even with our brutal schedule next year we can still win 10 games with competent not elite QB play. Our defense is that good. Look at Stafford, Cousins, Watson, Carr, etc, all of them are top 10 QB's when it comes to metrics, but their defenses are terrible. Did any of them make the playoffs this year? Both Tampa and KC has top 10 defense. I don't think it's as cut and dry as just a QB.

I'll take Cousins over what we have now. Defense matters, Cousins and Carr have terrible defenses to work with (some of that may have to do with their high salaries). Like what others have said, we have a window. I think we should be smart about, like not giving away the farm because it's never worked for us in the past. We have a rough out of conference schedule next season with GB, TB, KC, NO, LAC, and SEA. I love Henickle, but I don't trust he can make it through a season.

All the metrics say he is this year. If most on this board are saying Stafford is (spending the last 2 weeks saying so), then we should hold them to the same standard. Carr is going to net a 1st round pick whether anyone on here likes it or not. WFT might not land him, but someone is going to give up a 1st for him.
