Looks like more draft noise, there was some noise with Mac Jones yesterday. Petty much every top QB this draft has had a an article written they aee the great qb ever coming out of college. -

Crazy he's the 28th ranked player in the draft, but because he's a QB it vaults him to a top 10 pick, potentially higher.

Too be fair, there is some correlation to dishing out money to QB's and winning. If Alex didn't almost lose a leg, we wouldn't look this bad on this list. I am certain Alex would have have led us to multiple playoff appearances in a row.

What you describe Darnold in college, is exactly what I see from him the NFL. Good in the pocket and rolling out, but lacks some accuracy (balls tend to sail high) and makes some dumb throws. Basically, he hasn’t progressed. 🤷🏻♂️

Teams are desperate and QB play is the most important aspect of the game. Seeing players like Tannehill excel with a change is scenery, teams thinks the can emulate that.

I was reading online two 2nd round picks are worth a first? (assuming the 2nd's are high enough) But it seems like 1st round picks (even late 1st round picks) are increasing in value every year because of QB need and 1st round picks tend to hit more than any round in the draft. . Think Lamar Jackson (32nd overall).

I could see the patriots overpaying and being desperate for a QB after what happened after Brady left. Mariota shouldn’t fetch more than a 4th, but I could see as high as a 2nd with teams bidding.

I think a lot of here are undervaluing Dak, he's played very well on some bad Cowboy teams. I think he's worth more than everyone's favorite around here (Stafford) because of his age (6 years younger) and has actually won a playoff game.

Doesn't Mariota get $5 million as a backup? I guess it's just the cost of QB's these days. I wonder if this was done seeing the cost in terms of draft capital to get any of the available QB's? Wonder if this brings down the price tags?

Wilson should take a pay cut like Brady...these high paid QB’s can’t have it both ways. They can’t be the highest paid players and complain their team has deficiencies with their high salaries hamstringing their teams. Isn’t Wilson the 3rd highest player in the league? The NFL needs a cap on QB’s.

I was thinking about this more today. The only scenario I can think of is, Darnold is the cheapest option we have (Carr and Watson will be too much draft capital) and there are no decent QB’s worth taking in rounds 2-7. Basically, they want to get another QB in here, but there are not many options that won’t cost 2-3 first rounders. I much rather sign Fitzpatrick for a cheap option, at least you get some leadership and big plays. Darnold you get neither.

I see a player with bad mechanics. Exactly, if you get Darnell you get INT’s and “seeing ghosts,” you might as we’ll get Winston.

Isn’t a third tag $50 million and they are already close to that over the cap? The team is going to be terrible. It’s not like when Dak was playing they were doing good.
