I think he knew he'd be the man at MD. I'd also think he knew that OSU would have at least 1 QB recruited every year that is as good or better than him. That's what the great programs do and why they stay great. I'm guessing he knew that if was going to be great, he would have to beat out those other guys. In his mind, he knows he can. Whether Meyer thinks so or not is what matters though.

Mike Grinnon. The only player in MD history to have both an NCAA and ACC Championship on his resume. And he hit some big free throws in OT to help MD beat dook. I'll never forget that ACC championship. Due to the UNC suckage that year, I was given midcourt seats 7 rows up for all of MD's games.

Memo Trimble has some big ones. I also loved that he did it going left and scoring with his left hand after the announcer was saying all game he can't go left.

During the game, the announcers couldn't stop talking about how upbeat and enthusiastic the coaching staff is. They were so impressed with their upbeat attitude about the program and the direction it was heading. It was almost as if the announcers were surprised to hear that. But videos and stories like what BTFOOM posted show that isn't just for show. It's the tone the coaches want to set for the entire program for this year and beyond.

Everyone knew it would take a few years for Durkin to get things to where they needed to be. I think everyone got a little excited the first few weeks because of how easily they were winning. We had not seen that for a while, even against poor competition. I was disappointed in the game plan today. If you are going to throw short and run most of the game, just go with Pigrome. I assume Hills is in the game to be able to throw and run, but that didn't happen today. He threw 7 passes. Once Penn St got up and the team needed to throw, Pigrome wasn't the guy to have in the game. He's just not there on the passing side of things yet. The bottom line is that this year is all about getting these young players experience. The schedule gets harder as the year goes on, so the wins may be tough to come by. They just need to continue to build and get experience. They may knock of some teams along the way and make it kind of fun for us fans.

Its been longer than 5 years. The reason Friedgen wasn't more successful was because he couldn't find a QB. Ever since McBrien left, it's been a carousel of bad QBs. The best ones have been the mediocre guys.

Dixon was such a great player at Maryland. I loved his story and how he overcame so much and worked so hard to be great. I was so surprised he didn't do better professionally. As for this, it sounds like he wants more of an opportunity to be a coach and he is limited now. I hope he finds somewhere he can do what he wants to do.

Carter is a joke. No one knows what he was thinking. Most people thought Stone should go because of his size and skill. Apparently, it's the other attributes that make a great player that he doesn't quite have. I'll be curious to see if he is motivated or if he is just defeated that he blew it.

I heard an analyst today said that teams think he only works hard when he wants to. Not sure what other baggage there is, but that one alone would scare off most teams. I'd be curious to know what he and his father think right now.

Apparently, Steph Curry gave the court side fans a huge gift by throwing his mouthpiece. I heard a story before the game that one of his mouthpieces was going to be sold for 5k. Who would pay 5k for a germ infested mouthpiece.
