  1. I like that manny is blameless to them.
  2. Honestly other than the components maybe being a bit more ergonomic to use your ride on that is probably a lot more smooth than the newer aluminum frames. Plus it's just a cool looking bike. If you do ever decide to get something newer I think trek is making steel road bikes again.
  3. That's crazy. The fork shape on your bike usually denotes steel since there are issues (imagined or real) with aluminum handling the stress on the curved part. The tube thickness also is reminiscent of steel. It's a cool bike though. Have you ever ridden an all aluminum frame?
  4. Here's an example of the bike I mentioned above from Giant: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/anyroad.2/18747/76170/
  5. Oh yeah, you can modify them so that they handle it better for sure. Similar to switching to slicks on a mountain bike for road riding. I have seen models from Giant and Trek that have the road bike geometry but more hybrid-like tires to handle modest off-roading but without changing tires a road bike probably isn't Forehead's best option. Also your bike is a beautiful classic steel frame. It probably handles the bumps and other things better than the aluminum frames you find on current road bikes.
  6. That's really going to be the best way to start if for no other reason than to find out what size bike you need and to try out the different styles. It sounds like a road bike might not be the best way to go if you have a gravel stretch you have to travel through but if you go to a shop give one or two a try anyway cause you never know, you may fall in love with them and decide that's the style you want. Once you have that info come back here and the people in this thread can give a more intelligent/informed answer on what seems like a good deal. And be wary of salesmen trying to sell you "last years model deal" unless the bike is a good fit and and fits what you want to do on a bike. Here's an article about the different types: http://www.bikeradar.com/us/beginners/gear/article/what-type-of-bike-should-i-buy-39627/
  7. How long is your commute going to be and what type of terrain? Are you comfortable on a road bike or do you prefer to be more upright?
  8. Super-noble, no. I doubt any but his biggest fans would claim that of any of his actions. Notable, to me yes. For a guy with the rep he has it's notable and commendable that he at least makes it a point to praise his opponents skill and prowess after defeating them. The last time Floyd lost was the olympics in a fight even the dude who was declared the winner seemed to think Floyd had won. Floyd bowed to all four corners of the ring and hugged his coach. I'm not a Floyd fan. Floyd beat my favorite boxer, Shane Mosley, much the same way he beat Pac tonight. But I noted he gave Shane props after doing so and it's always struck me as very counter to the perception of him as a fighter and something I respect about him.
  9. Floyd is easy to hate but I do respect that he gives his opponents so much love after the fight
  10. No, that's just them taking a nap after their monkey-meal. They're like a furry little bonnie and clyde.
  11. Here's the link for more: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/breaking-news/os-couple-closet-daytona-state-college-20141231-story.html
  12. Marvin Tramaine Hill II was arrested by Des Moines police yesterday after allegedly hitting his pregnant wife with a McDonald's McChicken sandwich "because he doesn't like them." The Des Moines Register reports that when police arrived at Hill's home Tuesday, he claimedhis wife was the one that assaulted him: http://gawker.com/ungrateful-husband-smacks-pregnant-wife-with-mcchicken-1666207863
  13. This is hilarious to me. I was going to post it in the wb36 eagle-fellating/nfc east thread as that seems to encompass everyone in the division but figured it belonged here instead:
  14. Bought a road bike last year. So far my longest ride had only been 35 miles but I ride to work most days. I'll probably be ramping it up now that it's cooling down plus Tucson is building something called "the loop" which is a 55 mile ride around the city. Hopefully this thread takes off.
  15. That kid is SMART. I was particularly fond of this: Seems like girls think we're idiots even at age 8, lol.
  16. I just realized that girl in the gif is here in Tucson at the U of A. nice.
  17. Not to be a buzz kill but everyone of those you just posted have been put in this thread multiple times.
  18. Even the stuffed toy version of vick looks like a douche...
  19. NSFW ad at the bottom of the posting: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/rnr/2760204885.html
  20. NSFW Blog called "texts from Bennett" http://textsfrombennett.tumblr.com/
  21. It is a cool story. Very well told imo. A little Mexi-mullet action for the 400th page (in max posts per page view) And a sandwich shop I saw on the north side of Tucson about a month ago. You can't see the sausage specials listed on the window unfortunately.
  22. Extremely NSFW! Explicit Lyrics! Baraka Flacka Flame: Hit Em Up Barak Obama parody remix. I apologize to anyone who might be offended, I just thought this was the place to share this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkLSGmeZU2U
  23. Almost started a thread for this, but eh, I've started far too many for my tastes recently: http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/americas-rudest-cities/12 I found it funny that an independent source basically said the same thing about dallas that Joe Gibbs did.
