I thought this too, however the Redskins brand was only valued at $230m of the $3.4b overall franchise value. It's hardly material.

Hmmm.  I'm skeptical of that number.  It implies that all teams are worth a base 3.17B with the extra being the individual brand value.  Even so, I wouldn't want to take a $230m hit to my wallet to placate advocates that aren't fans of the team.  Now, if DC gives me a stadium at RFK to make up for it the I'm open for discussion. Money talks.

  2. Doing a complete Re-brand of the team is going to have a significant impact on the immediate value of the franchise.  It's a good time for minority owners to get out before buyers realize they aren't buying the Washington Redskins.  Buyers might be getting a red/white/blue Washington Senators football team with an uncertain fan base.  Will there be a loyal fan base if the team continues to lose for another 5 years or will the team turn out to be worth Tampa $???  Time will tell.  Brands have value and Snyder isn't just a fan-boy.

  3. You never know until they step on the field.  Skins had high hopes for Gerod Christianson and he hasn't panned out yet.  If a 4th round pick eventually becomes a sold starter anywhere on the OL then I consider it a victory.  LT would be a home run.  RT an A (Scherff failed) and G a commendable victory.

  4. The HC should always choose his own staff even if Kevin O'Connell is a budding super-star coach.  Skins have had two former OC/O assistants go on to coach teams in the Super bowl so losing talent isn't anything new.  But the HC can't have success if he can't work well with his own staff.  Gruden should never have been forced to keep some coaches if they weren't on the same page with him.

Personally I have always preferred the Dan Coryell offensive tree over many versions of the WCO so I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out.  Just fit it to what Haskins can do!

I realize Doctson has not lived up to his first round status but remember it takes some wideouts a few years before it clicks. The norm used to be the third year and I understand this is his fourth year but he really didn’t play his rookie year. I for one remain optimistic he puts it all together and becomes our go to guy.

McLaurin I think will be our Gary Clark type. Can play outside but has the ability to catch the underneath stuff. With him underneath and Doctson on the outside we need a healthy Richardson who can take it over the top.

I’m rooting for Cam, Quinn, Davis, and Harmon but let’s face it, there’s a reason they were high draft picks or UDFA. I’ll be happy if they can just contribute as it is unlikely they become the next Antonio Brown.

Doctson is never going to be the #1 that we had all envisioned.  He may catch more balls with a QB that is willing to take risks with jump balls but IMO he will always be the side show rather than the go-to guy.  I think Richardson will be more likely to stay healthy if they don't force him to take too many passes over the middle.  He can't take a pounding.  Fortunately Harmon can now be the move-the-chains guy on the team.  Let's hope that Quinn turns into the steal from last year's draft. So that leaves McLaurin - - - I think paired with speedy Richardson he should have more of an impact on the offense as long as the QB shows that he can deliver the long ball with some consistency.

  6. Skins WR core needs to be retooled in the offseason.  Richardson produced but he has a history of injuries and he's just not suited to catching balls where he's going to be hit hard.  Mo Harris may turn into a move-the-chains slot receiver.  I'm hoping Quinn can become your shifty slot WR in the second half.  If not, then there's really not much left on the roster.  I don't think the Skins can pay Crowder given his injury history so he's probably go elsewhere and produce big time when he's not the only offensive weapon.

  7. Hmmm.  Do you think the team would have played better if we had been able to invest a first round pick on a RT and a high second round pick plus a high first round pick on the secondary?  Those are the extra picks we used to trade from the fifth pick to the second pick in the draft when we acquired RG3.  That trade was going to hurt the team for a long time unless RG3 was the second coming of Peyton Manning.  Don't blame Bruce or the new coaching staff.  There's still a significant handicap versus other teams.
