  2. Go to Ballast Point, I have been eyeing the Sculpin up for a looooong time, I finally got my hands on some this week, it lives up to the hype. I can see why many people consider it to be one of the best if not the best American IPA on the market. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/199 http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/199/29619 http://aleheads.com/2011/07/01/the-best-ipa-in-america/ It really is perfectly balanced and PACKED with tons of hops and flavors that just don't stop.
  3. I really like their Jockamo, it's sweeter than most pale ales, lots of pineapple, and pairs REALLY well with spicy foods.

  5. No doubt, HOPTIMUM is an excellent beer, probably one of my all time favorites.
  6. Really? {i'm sure the atmosphere had something to do with it. I'll give you a perfect example, have you tried Fat Tire? A Fat Tire while sitting slope side in Colorado is one of the best beers you will ever drink, crack one on the deck while grilling, and it's average at best. Prima Pils is a great beer keep your eyes open for it.
  7. The craft breweries in the US are making some excellent beer. If you like Pilsners, I would try the Victory Prima Pils.

  10. I like the Flying Dog Simcoe I thought it was excellent, last year you could only buy it in a mixed 12 pack, I really want to try the palet wrecker, the list is sleeping on Sierra Nevada Hoptimum, probably one of the better beers I have ever tried.

Hmmm, at 12% this beer is all booze with some malts and burns all the way down, two thumbs down....i'll give it a a two out of ten, this beer is a failed effort at a "big beer"

  13. Dog Fish Head makes a gluten free beer, Its not on the top of my list of beers to try, since I have never had a dof fish beer I didn't like I would imagine its pretty good.
  14. IMO, they should be served at a cellar temperature, 55'ish to me is perfect, the flavor profiles pop a lot more when they're warmer, but not so much when they are cold.
  15. While in Virginia i scored some Founders Breakfast Stout, the seller only had it cold errr, just cracking into this bombdizzle, it lives up t it's ratings, what an incredible stout, I would call it perfect. Can't wait for this one to warm up a little.
  16. Had one on draft a few minutes ago, it was better than the bottles I had recently.
  17. Something is off with it, it kind of reminded me of Lancaster Hop Hog which IMO is more malty than hoppy. If you see Sierra Nevadas Hoptimum, get it, probably one of the better Imperial IPA's i've had lately, if you like DFH 90 Minute, you'll love Hoptimum.
  18. Heavy Seas has gone down hill lately, something is wrong with their HOP3, it's not what it use to be.
  19. Scored some Sierra Nevada Hoptimum today, talk about a BEAST, this might be the best Double IPA I have ever tried. 10 Percent and the hops are non stop and running all over the pallet. It just landed in Maryland this week so keep your eyes open, i'm glad I picked up 8.. 10 out of 10, just a great beer. OTOH, I picked up a 4 pack of Copper Mountain Copper Ale 20th Anniversary Beer last Friday, 12 percent, and all booze, probably one of the worse"big beers" beers I have ever tried.
  20. Hey Double, have you tried the Oak Aged Gonzo Porter yet? If you see it, get it.
  21. Had the Oaked Aged version last night, it was dynomite!! On a different note, i picked up a six pack of Heavy Seas Hop 3 IPA, i'm not sure what has happened to it, if I got a bad batch, but it isn't good, it kind of tastes like it use to, but something has changed.
