  1. Tried the Great Divide Hercules tonight, had the Southern Tier Oak Aged Unearthly last weekend, this is a tough call, but i'm going opposite of Double and saying the un-earthly is slightly better because of the oak aged deliciousness. Both are very good.
  2. Flying Dog Wildemans Farmhouse IPA...spicy brew, with a little bit of banana, I really like Delirium Tremens, this is kind og light like that with more of a hop kick and spices. I'm not sure why they brewed a second Belgian IPA, this one doesn't touch The Raging Hooohaah. (btw it still has that indescribable "bandaid" taste that some on here didn't like)
  3. It's called Flying Dog International Arms Race, which is supposedly a 0 IBU IPA..... I saw it yesterday, why would I want an IPA without the hop bitterness?
  4. Had a Boulevard Dark Truth Stout the other day, it was really good, very smokey, I can see it being really good with some BBQ. Is Flying Dog Secret Sash the 0 IBU IPA? What do they mean by that?
  5. I've said it once, and i'll say it again, Firestone Walker makes some excellent beers, their Union Jack is always a nice treat, just cracked a Double Jack Double IPA 22 and it's EXCELLENT!!
  6. I noticed the same thing, when I picked up that bottle of 2011 The Greater Pumpkin from Heavy Seas a few weeks ago, the dude that sold me the bottle told me let it sit for a couple of days, to treat it like a baby and only pour 3/4's of the bottle into the glass. He also mentioned that Heavy Seas doesn't use the best of yeasts, and most of their beers get real funky with age. When I poured the Greater Pumpkin there was a little bit of cloudiness and a few chunks of yeast floating around, the bottom of the bottle was think and chunky with it. How much does the sediment change the beer?
  7. Fishermans Pumpkin Stout, just not good, way to light for a stout, tons of carbonation, pumpkin taste is minimal..bleh, 4 paws down...
  8. Stone Imperial Russian Stout...super yummy and not over the top., very good and STOUT.
  9. Having a 2010 Southern Tier Choklat, i've had this before, instead of adding funkiness, the age has made this very smooth, it's like sipping chocolate milk, with caramel drizzled on the rim of the glass. Yeah, this beer is a beast at 11.8% and super tasty, watch out, it will kick you in the balls. I also tried a 2011 Heavy Seas Greater Pumpkin, talk about a beer that completely fell apart with age, there was a big nasty pile of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.. Overall, the spice and pumpkin flavors were pretty non existent, the flavor of oak, alcohol and bourbon were strong, I have heard good things about this beer, I need to find this years version to see how much was missing.
  10. What double said, check out The Fear by Flying Dog, it's a nice brown ale with a hint of pumpkin....I really like it. If you want pumpkin pie, check out Schlafly
  11. I'm really torn between these two beers, Pumking has the nice spice, and is well balanced, and has this pumpkin seed taste that makes it super yummy. Schalflay has this velvety smoothness to it, and tastes exactly like pumpkin pie. If you see either of these, and are into the pumpkin brews, grab them. I am keeping my eyes open for Heavy Seas GreatER Pumpkin which is an oak aged version of their Great Pumpkin.
  12. ^^Did you see when they squared off after the shove how much bigger the Bears O line was?
  13. One of my new favorite websites. http://dog-shaming.com/
  14. Oddly, enough i just finished a Schlafly Pumpkin Ale and now I am having a DFH Indian Brown.....solid as usual.
  15. Had a Shlafly Pumpkin last night, I really don't like the fruity beers, this is my new favorite. Pumpking is coming out this week, so is Flying Dogs The Fear, i'm looking forward to both of them.
  16. Did you find it? The local beer store is saying we should start seeing it this week.
  17. I actually like the hell or high water, it's one of those beers that is very light and refreshing on a hot summer day, but sweet enough to where two was my maximum.
  18. Amen!! From what I have heard, they just started brewing The Fear last week, it should be released in September. I'm not a fan of fruity beers, but I really really like this one, its not over pumpkined... I've heard Southern Tier Pumpking is the bomb diggity...
  19. A few new gluten beers to keep your eyes open for. http://newplanetbeer.com/homepage/
  20. Sierra Nevada Hoptimum for me, runner up would be Ballast Point Sculpin....if pale ales didn't exist, I would go with St. Bernardus
  21. From the comments....this is my favorite. "I swear, I've seen camera tripods more sympathetic to human pain, than this camera man." The camera guy didn't say or do anything, just kept on filming, what the heck?lol
