  1. We landed in Ocean City about 2 hours ago. I picked up a 12 mixer of Victory, 12 Sierra Nevadas, 12 DFH 60 minutes and 18 ML's. Sitting on the dock drinking a 60 minute, it tastes damn good. I went up to the beach a little while ago and there's only about 25 feet of beach left and the waves are massive. (Easily double head high)
  2. I stand corrected, just cracked a Black Hawk stout. This one is a lot less smokey (odd) chocolatey smell and taste, not to heavy, decent but not great. My problem with this beer is the 5 percent alcohol, wtf, if you're going to make a stout, make it kick ass.
  3. Haha, ill try another but it was very smokey. Some of you guys might like it and I wouldn't be suprised if bacon was a secret ingredient.
  4. Picked up a mixed 12 pack of Mendicino beers for 13.99. The only one these I have seen in the stores is the Red Tail Ale. The IPA is average, the Red Tail Ale is so so, but the stout, I actually dumped it out. It had a very heavy smoke flavor with a hint of bacon. Overall I would never buy any of their beers ever again. For 20 cents less I could get a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and not have a thing to complain about.
  5. Yeah it is spicy, I'm thinking the Racer or the 60 Minute. I made a mango corn salsa and sliced up some avocado so I need something bitter. I think the 60 Minute is very similar to the Hop Devil and the Heavy Seas.
  6. I'm currently trying to decide which of my brews will pair best with some blackened Mako and Tile Fish tacos.
  7. Yeah, the beer snobbery is currently over the top in a once harmonious thread. Dog Fish Head is certainly not over rated, especially if we are talking reasonably priced brews.
  8. You can put the 90 or 60 minute next to a pretty much any above average Micro 6 pack and it holds it's own. In my neck of the woods a 4 pack of 120 is 7.99, so is a 6er of the 60 minute. Compare that to paying 6.99 for any 6 pack of Sam Adams and it's a steal. The 90 minute is a great beer and certainly deserves the reviews it receives on any of the beer review web sites.
  9. I am looking forward to trying the 120, 18 percent is a whopper of a beer. Check out my fridge.:point2sky
  10. Picked up a 6er of DFH 60 Minute, Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA, 6 Peroni , and 4 DFH 90 Minutes. Currently sipping the 90 Minute, what a great beer, now I know why they sell it in 4 Packs. It's very good but far from being a "session beer". Very very tasty. A very solid A.
  11. Picked up a mixed case on Sunday, 12 pack Brooklyn Variety, 6 Peroni, and 6 Raging *****. The Brooklyn Brown Ale is very tasty, so is their Lager. The ***** is the *****, but my new favorite beer is Peroni. I love knocking back some Miller Lites on a hot summer day, but Peroni has this crisp cleanliness to it, that's really nice. I'm looking forward to a few of these on the beach in a couple of weeks.
  12. Ill go ahead and slam the Sam Adams Pale Ale, simply bland and tasteless for a pale ale. I'm pretty much done with Sam Adams at this point, especially when I can get Flying Dog 60 minute for buck more. Sam Adams is simply trying to appeal to the masses. I picked up a 6er of Starr Hill Northern Lights IPA over the weekend and thought it was pretty darn tasty IPA. B+
  13. Just pan seared some scallops on top of a fresh mango/blueberry salsa as an app and chased it with a dog fish 60 minute IPA......Perfect match.
  14. Sipping some Harpoon IPA, very smooth and drinkable. B+
  15. No doubt about a crazy week. Just cracked a Stone IPA, very niiiiiice. IMO the Victory Hop Wallop is way better for the price.
  16. Tremens is by far the best beer I have ever had.
  17. Dog Fish Head 60 IPA is excellent. Had one while cooking home made schezuan pork(extra spicy via an over dosing of sirachi ), saffron rice and corn on the cob and one with the meal. Very nice beer, lots of sweet citrus and smooth hops. It paired perfectly with the sweet and extra make you sweat spiciness. 2 thumbs up
  18. Long Meadow Wines & Liquors www.longmeadowwine.com 1515 Potomac Aveune Hagerstown, MD 21742 It's about 10 minutes off 70.
  19. Hop Wallop is 10.99 Hop Devil is 9.99 Dog Fish Head 90 minute IPA 7.99 Flying Dog - 6.99 Heavy Seas 8.50 They also have mix and match 6 packs with a 10 percent discount. Double, you should make a trip and stock up with several cases. They might even give case discounts.
  20. It's dynomite, very similar to the Hop Wallop with it's sweetness and nice clean finish. I would reccomend trying the Hop Wallop once, but if the Hop Devil is a great every day beer that is very smooth. Victory is 2 for 2 from me so far, I'm looking forward to trying their stout in the fall.
  21. 6.99 a sixer for Flying Dog Raging ***** at the place I mentioned a few pages ago. I really liked the Victory Hop Wallop so I picked up a 6er of the Hop Devil for 8.50. This place has killer deals.
  22. I was wondering if they mis bottled a nut brown ale.
  23. The Lancaster Hop Hog is just "okay". It doesn't even taste like an IPA, IMO.
