  1. Great Divide Denver Pale Ale is a sweet smelling beer, the taste is nutty, kind of reminds me of a nut brown ale. There is a little bit of hoppiness, it's a pretty decent beer that is very drinkable. I am glad I only put one of these in my 6 pack yesterday, leaving more room for a Great Divide Belgian IPA(thought it was very good, but didn't come close to Flying Dogs Raging *****), a couple of Raging ****es and Smutty Nose IPA's.
  2. I loved the Smutty Nose Porter, so I mixed a six pack and thru in a couple Smutty Nose IPA. It's dry hopped so there is tons of bitterness and lots of sediment floating around. The smell is nice and has a very strong citrus/piney taste. There is a very strong lingering bitterness, a really nice IPA.
  3. Picked up a Stone Ruination IPA, looking forward to getting into it. Has anyone else tried it?
  4. I know it's not all that exciting, but I am loving the Sierra Nevada right now.
  5. Stopped and picked up a 12 pack mixer of Wild Goose (Oatmeal Stout, extra PA, IPA and Brown Lager) and a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada IPA. They are looking forward to meeting my fridge when I get home later.
  6. That stuff is not good for your liver. Anyway I thought Frugal Joes made a decent beer.
  7. I've had the Trader Joes "frugal joe" and thought it was decent, I have not had the blonde ale though. Does vicodin have acetometophine in it? If it doesn't I would wash one of those puppies down with ........ Nevermind. thinking back to my Rugby days.
  8. Sam Adams Summer Ale with Kielbasa and Kraut for dinner. The Sam Adams was a nice compliment to the meal and paired well with the Kraut and Sausage dipped in mustard.
  9. Funny, I understand it's not full of flavors and smells, it is a pretty good beer and has it's place. I would pick a Miller Lite over a nice wheat beer after mowing the grass because to me, it's refreshing and goes down smooth. What's your choice of beer after mowing the grass or when you want something that's smooth and goes down easy without disecting the flavors and smells that a lot of other beers have to offer?
  10. Some of you beer snobs crack me up. There is nothing wrong with drinking a Corona, as a matter of fact, many including myself think they taste damn good on a hot summer day, especially with a lime. Everyone doesn't sit around and discect every beer they drink. I really enjoy tasting the varieties of beer, I also enjoy getting together with my buddies and knocking back several 30 packs with a bushel of crabs. After I mow my grass on some days, the best tasting beer in my fridge is a Miller Lite. When I'm at the beach, you might even find me knocking back a 6'er of Natty Bo, because for some reason, I think they taste great while sitting on the beach. If the man wants to order a Mexican beer, let him order a Mexican beer, I would to if I was eating Mexican or in Mexico.
  11. I hate almost every fruit beer I've ever tried, and I was disappointed that I bought this after the first sip, but I've kind of changed my mind a few sips in to it. It really isn't too bad, but really can't imagine getting it again. Light body, pretty tart. Ain't bad, ain't good. It's a "oops" buy that I can live with. For reasonably priced beers, I like the Pyramid Spring Fling and the IPA. I might pick up one of these tomorrow when I hit the Ye Ole Spirit Shop for a mix/matched 6'er.
  12. Dude it's a Corona, just drink it. The lime makes it a little more refreshing on a hot summer day.
  13. Sipping on a Raging ***** IPA in honor of my dog of 14 years that took a stroll over The Rainbow Bridge last night. R.I.P. Drexie I will never forget you.
  14. What am I missing here, don't all Guiness(in the US) bottles say "Guiness Extra Stout"?
  15. I know there are different types of Guiness, but I thought they only sell the draught cans and bottles of Guiness Stout in the US. Learn something new everyday.
  16. I was actually looking for a 6er of Saranac yesterday, couldn't find it so I got a 4 pack of Brooklyns.
  17. Having a Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, W0W, very creamy and tasty. Sebowski has one of these in the above pic. I can't decide if I like it better than Stoudts Fat Dog, but it's very tasty. If you want a malty beer to chew on for a while, this is a winner.
  18. If you like a wide variety and decorating the fridge the Ye Ole Spirit Shop in Frederick is great. You can mix and match as many different beers that you would like. You get a 10 percent discount on each six pack so the cost of the higher end beers gets offset if you purchase the session beers. Usually you can set up a pretty decent case for under $40. The case I mentioned earlier was $32, not bad. The next time I go I might mix a case of 8 different brews. If I do I will take a pic and post it.
  19. Stocked up 6er of Pyramid IPA 6er of Wild Goose IPA(one of my all time faves) 6er of Abita Jacamo 2 Steelhead Stouts 1 Jamaica Brand Red Ale(another one of my all time favorites) 3 Saranac Imperial IPA Feel like making another run because I think its fun to make my beer fridge look pretty.
  20. There is a place in Frederick called The Ye Ole Spirit Shop where you can build six packs from what ever type of beer in the store. They charge you per bottle and give you a 10 percent discount. Their selection is pretty impressive, can't wait to build a nice case tomorrow.
  21. Raging ***** is a great beer, picked up a sixer earlier.
  22. Just grilled some BBQ chicken(bone in) had cole slaw, some rice, green beans and a blueberry stout, it was excellent.
  23. Had to coat the stomach for yesterdays marathon/bender. It was actually pretty darn good, nice breakfast stout.
