I just listened to the follow up interview. Monumental really doesn't care all that much about the sports teams. This is, in their words, "more about the opportunity to diversify the portfolio of what they are offering." They want more concerts and events so they will use two building for that purpose.

I haven't actually heard anyone campus publicly advocating for genocide, unless you want to construe that "from the river to the sea" implies genocide

This Stanford student did say, in print, that White people need to be "eradicated" and didn't face any sanction from the university

the Stanford student stole that from Bulworth. IYKYK.

  3. Warriors have some obvious moves if they are ready to begin to move on. Wiggins has a very tradeable contract they should be looking to move this season. Thompson and Paul will be gone next season. They could create cap space and playing time for the next generation. They should've moved on from Draymond this off-season. Was the perfect opportunity. I don't feel sorry for that team at all.

I'm pretty sure the UPENN President was never directly asked if calling for genocide of the Jews was harassment or bullying.

Here is what I believe is a full and accurate transcript.  Genocide is used 5 times.  None in relation questions to the Penn President.  And never really directly asked to the Harvard President where she's allowed to fully answer the question.

    https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/university-presidents-testify-before-house-on-anti-semitism-and-violent-protests-transcript

Most of Stefnik's comments were based on jumping from infatada to that's a call for genocide (which isn't normally how it has historically defined).  Those comments are put to Gay, and then she generally cuts Gay off before she can answer the question.

The transcript you posted is missing a couple hours worth of testimony.

Fwiw the CBA does not limit the amount that can be deferred,  per Jeff Passan. So the Ohtani thing is legit and player/owner approved.

Baseball needs to change this asap. It's a massive advantage for wealthy teams to be able to defer money and it be discounted against the current luxury tax system.

What I give Kareem over Lebron is modern traveling. I’m pretty sure it’s way easier to travel now than back then.

However, Lebron does a lot more running than Kareem ever did due to the differences in position. The distance traveled on Lebron’s feet is probably way greater than any other player in history.

it’s miraculous Lebron looks this phenomenal at his age. Like he about to be 39 and at times he looks more athletic than someone like Zion.

80% of NBA players look more athletic than Zion these days. (only half joking)

    Yawn...

If it was so easy everyone would be doing it...but, no, it not even close...

Someone posted a video the other day of LeBron playing against folks that are Head Coaches now and still can't beat him, he's overlapping modern eras now...

You can take a break from **** riding Lebron, it's okay. LeBron is not overlapping the 80s-90s eras of basketball. You ask for an honest conversation and can't even be honest about the differences. I already said what LeBron is doing is amazing.

It's a myth that doesn't matter concerning Jordan being forced to retire or suspended.

He can't carry a team at LeBrons age and everyone saw it, including us Wizards fans.

Running up and down the floor is straight up wear and tear, I don't care what the playoff format is.

Saying counting playoff minutes is the technically to him getting the record isn't an asterisk when it means he's in the playoffs all the time, that's even more damning considering Jordan was with the Wizards for two seasons and didn't make the playoffs once.

It's an unnecessary twister mat of excuses and technicalities that don't change the GOAT conversation by itself but folks still feel the need to make sure for some reason.

    I don't get y'all sometimes...

Take a joke about the suspension.

Regarding minutes played, you said "Keep the conversation honest, please." If you really want an honest conversation, the fact that the NBA has expanded playoffs and changed the defensive rules matter a lot. The ability to enter the NBA from high school matters a lot. The way training and recovery has changed, matters a lot. It's not an honest conversation without acknowledging all of that.

What LeBron is doing is amazing. It's not comparable to other eras and vice versa because of the differences of those eras with today's NBA.

    Timeout...

Now while I am still in Team Jordan on the GOAT convo, I'm shocked to hear stuff like load management thrown out there when MJ RETIRED twice once and was secretly suspended for gambling  for a year and a half and LeBron holds the all-time minutes record.

    Keep the conversation honest, please...

    FTFY.

To be honest, LeBron has that record already due to expanded playoffs compared to Kareem. But you make a fair point in comparison to Jordan about load management.

  10. What LeBron is doing is awesome but trying to compare longevity to Jordan isn't apples to apples. The common fouls on Jordan back in the day are flagrant fouls now and there was substantially more defensive contact permitted in the 80s and 90s. It's definitely favorable to LeBron being able to play at a high level for this long as far as wear and tear on the body. Plus, we all know training and recovery will continue to improve over time, as well as facilities which helps as well.

No reason to compare the two. They are both the best players of their generations and it's not close.

Also, I gotta point out that Kareem was pretty damn good at age 39.

meanwhile Jokic out here shooting 30% from the field two games in a row

They went undefeated in this tourney.

what else they could they do? Indy beat 76ers, Celtics, and Bucks for this tourney.

the fact the lakers just whipped them makes it very impressive. Playoff Lebron is a ram and if AD plays like that, watch out.

I'm not faulting the Lakers. They can only beat who is in front of them. I'd be surprised if AD stays healthy enough for a playoff run beyond last season but if he's healthy, they are as good as anyone.

Unbeaten teams have always been left out and not awarded championships etc throughout all of college football’s history

the point is that there are no auto bids in college right now so there has never been any understanding that an undefeated power 5 team would always or should always be in. It usually worked out but the very fact that there are 5 P5 conferences and 4 spots lends itself to the idea that someone could be left out, even if undefeated.

Alabama and Texas are both better than FSU. Ga is too and should be in the playoff before FSU.  The system we have allows a committee to pick the best teams. If we are allowing that, then injuries are going to play a factor in the decision making. It doesn’t mean games don’t matter, they clearly do, but the ACC is viewed, correctly imo, as a weaker conference so one extra win in that conference is not as impressive.

I don't know why people keep thinking Alabama would automatically beat FSU. They needed a hail mary prayer throw to beat a mediocre Auburn team last week.

The rationale to keep FSU out cause people are trying to predict how competitive a game might be almost a month from now is everything sports is not supposed to be.

So my latest sinister plan to teach my 4 year old to read is doing word searches. All the typical stuff has failed because he's lost interest or he just says, no dad you read it to me. It my wife will say stop rushing him and he's age appropriate, which is right. But I like reading with my boys. And I want them to be able read back to me.

So tonight he's doing this word search book I got him. I can't say if it will stick. But hopefully it'll be some word recognition because with the cards we weren't getting past 3 letter words.

I agree with your wife. Pushing doesn't help at all. We read to our kid every night for years until he wanted to start reading on his own. Two things that really helped, graphic novels like captain underpants and letter land in K-2. Letter land is a fantastic phonics tool used at schools. From there he took off. He's 9 and he will wake up and read. He crushed the Percy Jackson series this last summer and is almost done with Hero of Olympus. We were really deliberate in moving up levels to not rush, never forced him to read back to us and we let him pick what interests him.

Almost forgot, I would take him to the comic book store and let him pick some out. Even if they were above his reading level at the time. Went through a transformers, power rangers and my little pony comic book phase.

I take it you haven't watched him much this year. He's actually been scoring and is shooting 45% from 3. He's definitely been better than the previous few years version.

Klay and Wiggins have been crap so far this year. Curry and CP3 might be the only reason they have 6 wins so far.

Fwiw I'm not sure what the officials were looking for as Gobert should have been teed up on that play. He grabbed Klay by the shoulder/head first and Dray retaliated (stupidly).

Can't tell if you are serious about Gobert. Dude was trying to break up the scuffle. There was zero intent to do anything more.
