neilclarke
This topic usually pops up around this time each year. Has anyone worked their deal with DirecTV to get the Sunday Ticket free or at a discounted price? Knowing what others are getting offered helps everyone else who wants to get it some knowledge for negotiations. HTTR!

redskinss
I wonder if this happened to anyone else on sunday because it happened to me and i wasn't very happy about it. I live in massachusetts and i went to watch the packers 49ers game and it was blacked out, i checked the national broadcast and it wasnt on there either. After some searching i found that the game was being broadcast on the west coast fox feed which im not even sure i could get if i wanted to but even if i could why should i have to pay for the game twice if i live 3000 miles away from the area where the game is being played. Did anyone else experience this and is this just another example of ridiculous corporate greed.

Alaskins
You have to be absolutely ready to drop DirecTv if they don't play ball with you. We got it this year by calling up on a Friday and telling them that we are likely going to drop the service if they can't help on the price of ST. I got a no on Friday and said that I'd need to talk to my Wife and will call back on Mon. Called back on Mon and said, "I talked it over with my wife. The only real reason we have DTV is ST. But $1600/year for NFL games is too much. We're going to have to cancel." The nice customer service tech responded with "what if we gave you ST for free?" TheGreatBuzz
I dont blame you i wouldnt pay 1600 a year for it either. That had to be a typo. That's what I was thinking. I actually have no idea what we pay. My wife pays all the bills. But I really hope we aren't paying that much.

Hence $1600 ST is literally the only reason that we haven't "cut the cord"
chrisbarrett27
Okay so real quick, I did post this in the other thread but I have no idea what page it's on. Super easy way to get all the regular season games for way cheaper, assuming you have a computer that will hook up to your TV via HDMI. 1. Get a VPN blocker, I use unblockus.com (change your country to Germany/Italy/Turkey/whatever) and it works like a champ. The cost of that is 4.99 a month I believe. 2. Turn on your blocker and google NFL Game Pass. 3. Pick which ever subscription you want. I believe the regular season is $30-$40 a month for 4 months. You can either pay it all at once or do monthly installments. I believe $50 a month gets you all the games up to the Superbowl. This comes out to a total of $150ish for all the regular season games. I've used NFL game pass a few years while I was deployed overseas and it works like a champ. HD quality, live streaming the whole deal. You can get NFL Game Pass without using unblockus.com, but you won't be able to watch the games live. With the unblockus.com you are able to watch the games when they start. That's one of the perks for being overseas. So much better than Direct TV which I've also had in the past and they're ridiculously over priced. If you guys have any questions let me know. Since the first quarter of the season is over I'm assuming you won't be charged as much...but don't quote me on that. Hope this helps some people out.
