bubba9497
NFL Truth & Rumors: Feb. 21, 2005 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/scorecard/02/21/truth.rumors.nfl/index.html Could Randy Moss land in Big D? Don't be surprised if former Browns quarterback Jeff Garcia suits up for the Lions in 2005. Garcia is Lions coach Steve Mariucci's security blanket. Garcia understands what Mariucci expects from his quarterback. Garcia would be more comfortable running Detroit's West Coast offense than, say, Kurt Warner, another free agent who would also look good wearing the Lions' Honolulu blue and silver. -- Toledo Blade The latest Randy Moss trade rumor is that Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, who prides himself on handling difficult characters, will get into the sweepstakes for the controversial wide receiver along with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. -- St. Paul Pioneer Press Prospective Vikings owner Reggie Fowler made it clear that his group would have no plans to Moss. -- Minneapolis Star Tribune Fortunately for the Vikings, this is considered a strong draft for defense, which is where most of their needs are. Some early mock drafts have them selecting a defensive lineman -- Southern California end/tackle Shaun Cody, Wisconsin tackle Anttaj Hawthorne or Maryland end Shawne Merriman -- with the 18th selection of the first round, but Scott Studwell, the Vikings director of college scouting, said he and the scouting department aren't that far along yet. -- St. Paul Pioneer Press Redskins wide receiver Laveranues Coles has had at least two extensive conversations with Coach Joe Gibbs since the season ended which are expected to lead to his release from the team. If released, Coles instantly would be one of the premier receivers available. And several teams -- including the Cowboys, Falcons and Ravens -- are expected to pursue wideouts. -- Washington Post Coles's situation means Washington almost certainly will have two new starting wideouts. Pittsburgh's Plaxico Burress and Oakland's Jerry Porter headline an unspectacular pool of wideouts. The group could be bolstered by possible salary-cap casualties such as St. Louis's Isaac Bruce, Carolina's Muhsin Muhammad and Tennessee's Derrick Mason. The Redskins possess the ninth overall pick in April's NFL draft, providing an opportunity to select one of college's top two wideouts: Michigan's Braylon Edwards and USC's Mike Williams. -- Washington Post The Jaguars are debating a critical question as they face Tuesday's deadline for placing the franchise tag on players for the 2005 season: Do they have a better chance of making a playoff run this year with safety Donovin Darius at an expensive price tag, or without him at a salary-cap savings of almost $5 million? -- Jacksonville Times-Union Another major priority for the Jaguars is signing defensive tackle Marcus Stroud to a long-term deal. -- Jacksonville Times-Union After rejections from Todd Grantham, Eric Mangini and Kevin Steele, Dolphins coach Nick Saban has turned his attention to University of Kentucky defensive coordinator Mike Archerreached for his latest candidate to fill Miami's vacant defensive coordinator spot. -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Dallsux
Prospective Vikings owner Reggie Fowler made it clear that his group would have no plans to Moss. -- Minneapolis Star Tribune Moss what? The field? Are they planning on laying moss instead of grass or turf for them to play on? What does this have to do with trade talks? Hmm.

kingdaddy
I knew this was coming....... Joe's gonna bring back Clark, Sanders and Monk. It makes sense, both Clark and Monk need another ring and some more stats to get into the Hall of Fame. Plus, they'll be cheap, meaning we can dump all of the money we'll save into the O-line. Then, after we let Smoot go, the door will be open for Darrell Green to return. All the pieces are falling into place.
