Falcons Cut Price - $7.1 million hit

I tell you - that crazy rich owner Arthur Blank. He gave up a 1st round pick for Peerless Price and gave him a huge contract. Now they just cut him because he was unhappy with the offense and was causing a disruption. The falcons take a $1.4 million hit this year and $5.7 million next year and get nothing in return. It seems that Lenny P. thinks it was a pretty good move or at least not a bad one. It's good to see the media being really consistent on these kinds of issues.

second thought: you mean there are teams out there OTHER THAN THE REDSKINS that make mistakes in personnel from time to time? :)

wow! what a revelation this must be for Pasquarelli and Clayton who look at Atlanta as some kind of model franchise to emulate.

At least we got Moss, they're getting nothing for Price.

I won't hold my breath to see if we get a flood of media reports about what a horrible move the Falcons FO has made.

You know what's the old saying:

"You're not paranoid if people are really out to get you"

This is yet further proof that there is an anti-Redskin or at least anti-Snyder bias in the "insider" sports media.

Hilarious, two years ago Lav Coles and Peerless Price were two highly sought out wide receivers.

Who was going to get Coles? Falcons or Skins? Same question was raised for Price. Spurrier wanted BLAZING speed, Falcons wanted a great number one target for their franchise quarterback.

Washington gave up their first round pick and gave a buncha money to Coles. He was spectacular for the first part of the season, got injured and was never the same. He was subsequently released two years later and the team took a 9 million dollar cap hit.

Atlanta gave up their first round pick and gave a buncha money to Price. He never turned into the number one guy for Vick and was susequently released two years later and the team took a 7.1 million dollar cap hit.

The whole idea of giving up a first round draft pick for a "proven" star seemed to have failed horribly for these two teams.
