The Bengals announced on Monday that they had released linebacker LaDairis Jackson.

A fourth-year player in 2004, Jackson spent the season on the team's injured reserve list. He suffered a knee injury in the second preseason game.

Jackson was acquired off waivers from the Washington Redskins in 2003. He did not play in a game for the Bengals.

He played in 15 games for the Redskins in 2002 when Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was Washington's defensive coordinator.

Here's what LaVar said about him.

From the first time I saw him, it's been the same thing. He's been running around people. Any time you can beat Chris Samuels consistently off the edge, you're doing something.

Chris said the same thing, but I can't find the quote. He said that the coaches were yelling at him because LaDairis kept running by him. Chris also said he saw this little guy in front of him and thought he could just blow him up, but he held his own. He's stronger than he looks.

the Bengals are an improving franchise as they have done a lot better recently in the draft than in the past and that talent is starting to show through with Palmer and Chad Johnson et al.

But the Bengals are NOT improving because Marvin Lewis raided the Redskins of valuable players that we now rue losing :)

the guys he acquired were practice squad and back of the bench depth players that the Redskins were inclined to let move on.

the myth that Lewis got better on the Skins dime is just rubbish that guys like Pasquarelli like to throw around to denigrate Washington.
