Glenn X
http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/cheap/cheap.html This story is brought to you in bold, rich SPECULATIONVISION!!! Whether this story proves to be in the ballpark or not, it at least answers some of my questions on why we've heard so little about the issue of the team's revoked copyrights for so long. @DCGoldPants
I can imagine the team changing its name around 30 years down the road to a lot of our boo's. Right now? no, anytime soon? no.
OrangeSkin
Well, even if Snyder does turn around and rename the 'Skins, they'll ALWAYS be the 'Skins, no matter what. I can take solace in that. No way a 'Skins fan will ever say, "Gee! How 'bout dem Warriors!
flashback
Have you guys ever read Gregg Easterbrook? I wonder if he copyrighted "Chesapeake Watershed Region Indigenous Persons". HAIL TO THE PERSONS......
Ford
What most people don't realize is that American Indians don't care. My dad's side of the family is from Oklahoma .. so we have had several Indians marry into the family and I even have a small (pretty damn small) amount of Indian blood in me. Anyone I've asked in Oklahoma has sort of laughed at the question. It's a non-issue brought about by people who just have too much time on their hands. OrangeSkin
Did anybody see that survey in SI of Indians on reservations? Something like 80% said they don't give a damn.

joe
the article is interesting because the copyright lawyer is a credible source. She is speculation, but it is interesting. And as someone said, the Post will still call them "skins" in their headlines, just like they refered to the Senators as the "nats" for many years.
