We have 33 first-year players on the roster making $225K this year, so one of them would be #51. And this does not include our draft picks yet. Art Posted May 3, 2002 Share Posted May 3, 2002 The rookie pool, in July, will take the full $3.7 million off of our cap number and reserve it. But, we'll be able to, essentially, get at least five players signed at the rookie minimum $209K or $225K whatever it is today and immediately have not count against the cap by the Rule of 51. So, don't be at all surprised if we actually get 7 picks signed and over $1.5 million of the rookie pool almost immediately put back into the general fund .
