The Evil Genius
Packers | S. Dotson Update - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com) 5:51 PT: Christopher Walsh reports for Packernews.com the Green Bay Packers are not one of the teams expressing an interest in signing free agent DT Santana Dotson, according to agent Sean Jones. The agent said two teams are showing interest in his client. He hopes to have a contract worked out next week. Hmmm...maybe the Skins are looking for another DT??? He would upgrade the line, I know that for sure. Don't know what type of $ he is asking for though.
@DCGoldPants
how old is he? For the right age and price....I'd take him. I think most of us would also.
The Evil Genius
I thik he will be 33 at the end of this year. Still has 2-3 years left on him, I would think.
NavyDave
I say we pass on this guy and stick with the youth movement. Why keep putting off the inevitable on both sides of the line? Draft the best OG in the draft Gurode or Fonoti and the D lineman like a frreeman if he is there in round
bulldog
Dotson is not the player he once was. He used to be cat quick inside which made up for his slightly undersized lanky frame at 6'6 and 285. I agree that at 33 you really have to ask yourself what you are getting. The Packers have completely revamped their front seven in the past 2 years and Dotson was one of the guys moved out. Why would GB do that if he had a lot of play left in him? When a team like Carolina or Detroit lets someone go you can perhaps question their judgment, but GB has a pretty good front office and I would be leery of taking on someone else's problem.
