daustin
Buddah,

Oh great keeper of the facts. Do you have a good estimate of how much cap room we have at the moment (I couldn't find anything on your site).
bulldog
hey, wait a minute, Vinny Cerrato just found two extra nickels under seat cushion of the couch in the executive suite
Buddha
Absolutely not!

I stopped trying to figure up the cap a long time ago when I realized how much contract information is never reported-- performance incentives, escalators, roster bonuses. There is really NO WAY Joe Schmoe on the outside can truly figure out what the Skins' cap situation is (PCinOz does the best job that I know of, but he's got access to the same stuff we all do). A team nowadays wouldn't want this made public because it would hurt them in negotiating with both new and their own free agents.

My gut feeling based on the numbers is that we have more cap room than any of us-- including the media-- think we do. Zen-like Todd
Someone said 2.3, but that was before Larry Moore was signed, and we don't know the actual breakdown of his #s, although I believe the overall contract is 3 years for 3 million. We also know that Lockett restructured, but we don't know what the effect on his cap # was. So its very hard to tell.
daustin
that's what we used to sign this Vikes DT cast-off.
Zen-like Todd
Doubtful, Skinsman. As I believe someone already mentioned, he almost certainly doesnt count against our salary cap, as only the 51 most expensive players count against the cap. We can sign everyone on this board for the minimum and not budge our cap number.
bulldog
isn't it reassuring to note we are stocking up on all this cheap, available talent?

maybe we could assemble a team that could win a Division III championship with some of these guys
indyskinsfan
Ok SS and Marvin Lewis, you guys can go ahead and seal the deals with Dan Snyder and Mendes. Please, because one more unknown may actually make me believe, we're in for something so good, I can't even imagine. The last two SB winners started without being regarded to do anything that year. AS they made acquisition, after acquisition though (later in April thru August), that immediately changed the faces of their Conference foes from day to night! NavyDave
The Gatorade isnt as popular as the Marty Koolaid a year ago but it may grow on me if I see an acquisiton for the D line soon.
Darth Tater
I understand we had about 2.3 million before the Moore and Bates deals. Because of the rule of 51 and the way most contracts are structured, I figure that Moore cost a NET of about .5 to .7 against the cap so we probably have around 1.5 to 1.7 million left which would probably be netted out with Blake. Of course, with all the other crap in these contracts, that figure is at best a guestimate
Zen-like Todd
Just remember, there's a Donovan Greer sitting around, just waiting to be cut
