Charlottesville has only one Vietnamese restaurant and it doesn't quite compare to the NoVa establishments. Damn, I could use some good Pho right now. Nothing compares to Pat's in Philly. It's a shame I was only 8 (at the oldest) when I lived there because now that I can drive I'd eat there every day. Noticed that they have a Gino's in Philly's new baseball stadium, wonder if they have one in The Linc too?

You know, I'm not sure. Strange thing is, I didn't have pho much at all when I was in Silver Spring for a year, but I've had it a ton of times out here. I think I just like pho. I'm not one of these people who can reallly call any bowl I get "bad." Some might be better than others, but it's hard to F-up hot water, beef bones, thin strips of beef and pho noodles! One thing I never had until I, uh, had a Korean girlfriend out here in Seattle was Korean food. Not bad, and I didn't realize it was so spicy in comparison to other Asian cuisine. For whatever reason I would have thought of Korean food as more bland but it's not at all.
