jonjeff
Brett my man! 4 for 4 on field goals. Every one right down the middle. He even caught a break for a change on the 53 yarder off the post. We have a solid kicker guys. Conway is going to continue to get better, watch and see! Art
Conway is still a young kicker and he's just finding his stride. I'm relatively pleased with his performance and I agree it should get better. I'd like to see him become a kicker we GO TO when instead of one we avoid, like we have been of late. Tonight he earned some of the confidence in him back. And being as young as he is, he's likely to improve if he has the desire to improve. ------------------ Doom is in the box. skinsfan44
I had posted earlyer that one of the changes the SKINS should make in the off-season is to get a new kicker. Now I see that Conway was in a little slump and now seems to be doing ok. Over all he has made like 75% of his kicks, that is a he!! of alot better than last season. Yes I want Conway back next season.
Guest The Angry Buddha
Well Conway sure shut me up. Not only was he dead on with the FGs, most of his kickoffs went right to the goal line-- none of those ducks that died at the 15 or 20 like we've seen the past couple of games. ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://home.earthlink.net/~wahoofamily/flag.gif" border=0>
NavyDave
Conway's nickname should be Doink. But aleast he isnt as bad as the Steelers kicker who is going to need the witness protection program if he keeps p!ssing off Cowher ------------------ Take A Sip of the Marty KoolAid and Believe. bulldog
Conway's numbers are solid. Are there kickers with better percentages and a stronger leg? Yes. And they make $1 million+ per year more than Brett, now don't they? Same thing with Ben Coleman and Dave Szott. They are solid players. Are they pro bowlers? No. But for the money we are paying them, they are value performers. In the age of free agency, you can't field an entire team anymore that has pro bowlers at each position. Those days are over. Your seasons are going to be made or broken by the mid-level peformers you are able to get at a reasonable price to step up and produce for you. And that is what the Redskins until 2001 have not had. We have had the high profile draft choices and the expensive free agents mixed in with the NFL minimum wagers. That left the team with talent, but talent spread very thinly across the roster. A few injuries as we had in 2000 and the team takes a nose dive. See how the Steelers did not nosedive when Bettis got hurt 3 or 4 weeks ago? That's because they have depth this season. It's young depth, but Cowher is getting draft picks and unheralded college free agents to step up and play for him. If Cowher's approach is based on what he learned from Marty, then I would say that Marty should watch some game films of how well Bill's players relate to him and how the younger guys seem ready to go through a brick wall for the guy. Imagine if Marty had had that kind of buyin back in the summer
