Bugel said he was impressed with Dockery’s “vast improvement,” which has shown up on tape. Looks like his bous was 1.5mil for 4 years and a base salary for this year at the same. If we take the hit an the rest of the SB but save his salary we have about a plus 600k give or take. Im guessing it also maters what day it is when we release him because of roster bonuses....am I right? So now we are in the Market for a back up OLG..hmmmm who's out there? Start Dockey at guard, then slide Friedman back in to a reserve role behind both of them. Maybe add another backup type of player, but I don't think we need to add a starter. SonnyJ Posted February 26, 2004 Share Posted February 26, 2004 If Fiore does retire, it will be done post-June 1. That will make his cap hit $375K this season, and $750K next season. Not too deadly, but disappointing because not much was gotten out of him. If it happens, this is something you can honestly use hindsight and say the FO screwed up - Fiore had not gotten healthy and was damaged goods. I don't think that's a wise thing to do considering we have Thomas, Jansen, and Samuels making a mint. Bugel can find some talented kids that go UFA and coach them into quality reserves.
