The Redskins are one of the best franchises in the History of the NFL. Some of the most respected players have played for this team. So why do we only have 2 retired numbers?

#33 Sammy Baugh

#28 Darrell Green

Here are a few other numbers that need to be Retired.

Riggins' #44

Jurgy's #9

Williams' #17

Monk's #81

Taylor's #42

Huff's #70

Coleman's #51

Just to name a few.

Granted there hasn't been any player to where the numbers but they're not officially retired. There are otherr teams that have as many a 12 numbers retired, and don't have the kind of history that we have.

Any ideas?

Don't retire too many numbers or we can't field a team. Personally, I like the idea of retiring jerseys and not numbers. But if it is numbers, only the great ones. That means Charlie Tayor, Sonny Jurgensen, John Riggins, Larry Brown and Darrell Green. No Joey T. or Doug Williams for me.

I love both Kilmer and williams but neither were franchise HOF QB's I think you must be in oir near the cut for the HOF to have your number Retired

Jurgy and Darrell are for sure worthy of Number retirement as are Taylor

Riggins , Monk, Kenny Houston deserve if they havn't had it already.

I would say no one Huff, Laryy Brown
