Rat_Boy
We are officially amongst the dregs of the NFL So depressing. Craig
That is depressing. And after Chicago whips our a** this weekend, we will fall behind them.
Canadian Hog
What did we as fans do to deserve this?
Canadian Hog
To add insult to injury, I just noticed that some of our "friends" at the bottom of that list (Falcons, Chargers), even managed to get in a Super Bowl despite their futility in that span. OrangeSkin
To put things in perspective, if that list were from 1983 to 1993, we'd be at the top and Green Bay would be at the bottom. Everything goes in cycles.
Canadian Hog
I see your point Orangeskin, but the fact of the matter is that in this sport, or any other sport for that matter, its a case of what have you done for me lately. In our case, the answer is clearly nothing. Now I understand that things aren't always gonna be bright, and yes, bad seasons are something that all franchises endure, but two playoff appearances since our super bowl season simply doesn't cut it. Especially when you see some franchises turn things around in a matter of a few seasons. No excuses for what we have had to live through lately as fans. MidPennSkin
Rat, here's another list that shows how few really good years we have had. This the best season that each team has had during the 1993-2002 time period. Vikings: 15-1 Broncos: 14-2 Jaguars: 14-2 Rams: 14-2 Falcons: 14-2 Packers: 13-3 Chiefs: 13-3 Steelers: 13-3 Bears: 13-3 49ers: 13-3 Colts: 13-3 Titans: 13-3 Buccaneers: 12-4 Cowboys: 12-4 Giants: 12-4 Ravens: 12-4 Raiders: 12-4 Eagles: 12-4 Bills: 12-4 Panthers: 12-4 Jets: 12-4 Dolphins: 11-5 Patriots: 11-5 Chargers: 11-5 Saints: 10-6 Redskins: 10-6 Lions: 10-6 Seahawks: 9-7 Cardinals: 9-7 Bengals: 8-8 What makes it even worse is the possiblilty that the Seahawks and Bengals could equal our best year in 2003, leaving us ahead of only the Cards. tex
Thanks, I feel much worse now that I know we are bottom feeders. Why didn't I take the blue pill?
Rat_Boy
Well, if it is any consolation: Wins from 1982-1992: 49ers: 123 Redskins: 116 Dolphins: 106 Broncos: 100 Raiders: 99 Giants: 95 Saints: 93 Steelers: 87 Vikings: 86 Seahawks: 86 Cowboys: 86 Eagles: 85 Bills: 85 Rams: 83 Browns: 83 Bengals: 80 Chiefs: 80 Jets: 77 Patriots: 75 Oilers: 74 Chargers: 72 Packers: 71 Lions: 67 Cardinals: 63 Colts: 62 Falcons: 59 Bucs: 45 Mind boggling that the 49ers are the winningest team in the past 20 years. Did you forget about the Cowboys? The Eagles are in the top 11 in wins in both of those charts, but never reached a SB in those 20 years.
Rat_Boy
Yea, I did. The Cowboys had 86 wins from 82 to 92.

yank
Can't compare the two time periods at all. In the past the Squire could just cut the checks and stash a Typien for example. Now everyone has the same amount to spend. Could it be that Gibbs saw the handwriting on the wall ?
